Excellent show!

This is how kids used to play, no smart phones or tablets in their face, they had imagination and the outdoors!

Oddly enough, 80s and 90s cartoons MADE me want to go out and play after watching them. This show has that same character about it - perfect for the young ones watching.

I've been really liking this show. It's fun and creative and really well animated.

It reminds me of cartoons I grew up with and days spent by the creek.

It's just kids having fun

Like with OK KO this is probably one of the better shows to be coming out of Cartoon Network today.

I just hope this show is treated well and isn't taken up by those horrible Toddler Titans which seems to be the only show the network cares about today.

This show is fun, creative and has a real sense of adventure. It reminds me of Ed Edd and Eddy with elements from Steven Universe.

The animation and the character designs are great.

If you haven't seen this show yet I would recomand you check it out.

Best show on CN today

This show reminded me of the imagination I had as a kid, the adventures I had, and plays out most of the adventures I didn't get to have.

This show has great visuals, characters, voices, and Imagination. If there was a Craig of the creek theme park I would definitely go.

I love this show!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I am an adult, and I still love to watch cartoons. It's the most positive thing on TV! I love, love, love this show!!! There was Fat Albert, The PJ's, The Boondocks, The Proud Family and now there is Criag of The Creek. Out of all the black cartoons that I can think of, this is the best cartoon with a person of color as the lead!!! As a black American cartoon lover this is huge! I wish this show was on when I was a kid. The story line is so funny and adorbs. I hope the writers never change. I love all the hidden messages within every episode. The show also reminds me of my childhood. Growing up my cousins and I stayed outside playing in the woods being wild. I will never forget the good times we shared. Criag's grandparents remind me of my own. His Dad acts just like my dad, lol. I love the fact that his mother is curvy, and has natural hair that she wares in (what we call in the natural hair community) a "pineapple" protective style. His little sister Jessica is too adorable, and she already knows about business and money, lol. His older brother is so cute, and is always focused on college. He is also involved in a interracial relationship which is good. It shows kids love has no color! Yes, I love everything about this show, and I hope it lasts as long as SpongeBob SquarePants. If it ever goes off the air (I pray that it doesn't) I will be buying the DVD set! Thank you, Cartoon Network you know what you're doing!

With a first season of 6.27 rating average with 2 episodes 1/10 9 episodes 5/10 10 episodes 6/10 12 episodes 7/10 6 episodes 8/10 1 episode 9/10

With a second season of 7.05 average rating with 1 episode 2/10 3 episodes 5/10 3 episodes 6/10 21 episodes 7/10 8 episodes 8/10 1 episode 9/10 1 episode 10/10

With a third season of 7.5 average rating with 3 episodes 6/10 18 episodes 7/10 11 episodes 8/10 2 episodes 9/10 2 episodes 10/10

With a fourth season of 7 average rating with 4 episodes 5/10 6 episodes 6/10 18 episodes 7/10 10 episodes 8/10 2 episodes 9/10

And with a fifth and final season of 8.125 average rating with 1 episode 7/10 6 episodes 8/10 1 episodes 10/10

That gives a total of 7.189 in grade average (in my personal opinion) SEASON 1 = 6.27 SEASON 2 = 7.05 SEASON 3 = 7.5 SEASON 4 = 7 SEASON 5 = 8,125.

Kids Next Bore
a34trgv120 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Craig of the Creek sets out to be a fun slice of life show about a group of kids going on adventures by their local creek. As much as I wanted to get behind the show based on its premise alone, its execution was far too boring for my taste. From the formulaic writing to the one note characters, this show has the unfortunate distinction of being among Cartoon Network's most forgettable shows.

Created by Steven Universe alumni Matt Burnett and Ben Levin, this show follows 3 kids as the go on adventures in and around their local creek. The premise makes this show show far more interesting than it actually is. In practice, each episode follows a very basic plot with little to no surprises. I knew exactly who had the last book in The Final Book, I saw the chaos Craig would ensue by freeing the dogs in Wildernessa a mile away, and I audibly groaned when I easily predicted Craig committed blasphemy in the climax of Dog Decider. Not helping is the show is not funny with its humor being either gross out, predicable awkward situations and weak prat falls. There's also this running gag of Kelsey narrating to herself, which comes across more like a distracting road block than a funny gag. The only thing that sets this show above Cartoon Network's worst written shows is the clever world building. They really made a strong community at the creek with a local store, their own currency, different demographics hanging out and unique games for them to play. I especially like the idea of Bring Out Your Beasts, which is clearly inspired by Yu-Gi-Oh. That episode was painfully boring, but the way they explain the rules of the card game was nonetheless clever. The best episode I saw before calling it after 20 was Vulture's Nest due to the inclusion of a very reasonable and helpful band called Bad Moves. As alright as that episode was, it was no where near good enough for me to continue watching, especially when the rest of the cast is just flat.

The characters in this show are all varying degrees of one dimensional and dull. Starting with our titular hero, Craig is a young explorer and the defacto leader of the trio...and that's it, he never grows or changes beyond that. He's a very basic kid that just goes through the motions of each episode. Kelsey's character begins and ends with her being a "mighty warrior" with her canary Mortimer resting on her head. John Paul (JP for short) is the tall dimwitted kid that says random things and is generally clumsy. If that sounds oddly familiar, that's because JP is basically Ed from Ed, Edd n Eddy but not nearly as memorable, quotable or even as funny. Other characters such as the Junior Forest Scouts, the Elders of The Creek (actually a trio of teenagers), the Horse Girls and the Tea Timers begin and end with their respective archetypes. Craig's family though is underwhelming at best because they're also lacking in much personality and only make small appearances in the show. Nicole (Craig's Mom) seems caring enough, Duane (Craig's Dad) seems fun enough, Jessica (Craig's sister) is very smart and precocious, and Craig's grandparents are a couple kind and wise old folk. The worst character in the show though is Bernard, Craig's older brother. Like Brad from Kick Buttowski, he has this strong resent meant for Craig for no specified reason, he's generally rude and is a big suck up for his girlfriend. He's made slightly less of a jerk by the end of Bring Out Your Beast, but I still hated that he resented Craig even when they were younger. While he's not as bad as Brad, he's still a bad older brother who should know better.

The voice acting is passable, but not too many outstanding performances pop up. Phillip Solomon gave an alright performance as Craig, making him sound chipper and optimistic enough. I honestly wish though that he was given more material to work with. Noel Wells did a pretty decent job voicing Kelsey, but her voice doesn't always come out like a child and often Kelsey sounds like a teenager when she's supposed to be 8. H. Michael Croner falls into the unfortunate miscasting of voicing an 11 year old JP as he sounds absolutely nothing like a kid. Maybe if this show were more exaggerated it could work, but as it is it's just very distracting. While it's nice to hear Phil LaMarr's voice, the voice he gives Bernard sounds too similar to one of his most famous performances, Virgil Hawkins from Static Shock. Terry Crews, Kimberly Hebert Gregory, Lucia Cunningham, Phil Morris and Saundra McClain all gave solid performances as the rest of Craig's family, though I wish they were in more episodes to grow their personalities (I'm not watching the rest of the show so don't ask -.-). Most of the other actors as well as the shows creators gave decent enough performances as the other characters in the cast but Andree Vermeulen was very good as Eliza. I actually though the character was voiced by Grey DeLisle due to her devilsh personality, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out otherwise. The cast does a decent job voicing the characters, but only a select few go above and beyond with their performances.

Visually, the show does have some nice animation. The character designs are very unique and reflects the personality of each of the characters. JP is the tallest of the trio yet his shirt is noticable too big for him. Kelsey is the shortest yet feels larger than life with the addition of her sword (which is actually a PVC pipe). I really like the way the black characters are designed, as they have simplistic yet distinct appearances to them. The character animation moves smoothly and the animation really pops during moments of action. The backgrounds are also very well detailed and the creek itself looks like a quaint wood area with a flowing stream, lots of trees and large wide open spaces.

While not one of Cartoon Network's worst shows, Craig of the Creek is still nonetheless a disappointment. Good animation and clever world building weren't enough for me to get pass the formulaic writing, unfunny humor, one dimensional characters and passable at best voice acting. If you're looking for a good slice of life show that takes place in the woods, Little Bear is available for free on YouTube. It's unfortunate that my opinion on the show hasn't changed since I watched the pilot back in 2018. To conclude, Craig of the Creek is most certainly among Cartoon Network's most forgettable shows and I'm not likely going to think about it after this review :/

Can't believe this show isn't better reviewed
bretxmurphy8 June 2021
As a Cartoon Network show, and seemingly a child show your kids would watch, this show covers all the bases. The jokes are solid, and never get too cringey, the lessons are fantastically portrayed. The world (creek) is so charming, and filled with stuff to explore that even at the age of 24 I'm like "dang, that's awesome", just those moments that really can make you feel like a kid again and imagine yourself in this world.

But the biggest take away is it's representation! I've watched roughly 20 episodes, and I have seen so many different races of children, races of family that have been pretty well represented, and even caught a couple very well done episode representing the LGBTQ community that never felt forced, but natural, it all feels natural, and it's something you can easily miss, all and all I love this show, and the childlike wonder/joy it has brought out of me.

Unpopular Opinion: I don't like Craig of The Creek anymore
nasdagoodshepherd29 April 2020
I used to like this show, but now I'm starting to get the feeling that this show starts to become a huge bore. At first, it's starts off promising to me and I really want to continue watching it, however....nowadays there are a few things I dislike about Craig of The Creek. The art style is bland and generic and it would be a lot better if the art style fits in Steven Universe, (In fact, Steven Universe is way better than this show) Craig is a weak protagonist, the characters are somehow annoying, the animation is cheap, the premise of the show is boring and the some episodes are pretty dull and uninteresting. If there's anything that would air on Cartoon Network, that would be...Craig of The Creek and I'll be like: Screw that! I want to watch Adventure Time, I want to watch Gumball, I want to watch Apple & Onion, DC Super Hero Girls (2019), Infinity Train, Billy and Mandy, Mixels, Smaurai Jack, Flapjack, Victor and Valentino, Regular Show, Chowder, Sym-Bionic Titan, Mao Mao, OK K.O., Mighty Magiswords! Not some boring cartoon about a boring kid who goes on boring adventures around some boring creek with his boring friends! I'm sorry but this show is not for me, you guys! I know that a lot of people really like this show but keep in mind, this is my opinion, I'll respect anyone's opinion on Craig of The Creek but please respect my opinion. So there you have it...I dislike Craig of the Creek, it's boring, generic, lame, unfunny and kinda annoying and I have no choice but to give this show a 4.3/10

I enjoy this show
resulli25 June 2018
Craig of the creek is an enjoyable new Cartoon Network show. It reminds me a lot like loud house because of the feel of every episode, and the trope "this happens in our family and not the normal one, how do I escape it." In Craig's scenario, it's because he wants to go to the creek, which is a formula that works. Also, this show has amazing characters who are fairly humorous, and a lesson to be learned at the end of a lot of episodes from said characters. Since loud house is in its third season, it's better as of now in my opinion, but Craig of the creek is very new, and if u give it a chance, I think it would be amazing to see how it evolves over time. Overall, good show with potential that it frequently uses.

Every episode I love. Brings me a feeling of happiness. All the characters are interesting and cool I want to see more of all of them. Even starts an overarching plot before episode 50 (looking at you Steven Universe). Watch this show you'll love it.

Boring show

This show is boring. That's all it is. This is the most unrealistic animated show that takes place in reality. The animation is okay but still boring. The Cal-Arts style faces look lazy.

Of course "parents" would consider this garbage fun. Literally nothing happens in this show and only displays meaningless messages at the end. It's a poor and less creative version of Kids Next Door.

Great show! with great atmosphere

Warning: Spoilers
This show makes me feel comfortable, and there is something about it that makes me want to watch more, i love the animation, characters, and the theme! This show is a breath of fresh air, it also feels original and not like a rip-off. I adore this show it has potential and i believe it's going places.

A lot of people say that Young Sheldon (i know its not animated) but a lot of people say this show sucked or sucks. But Honestly, screw those haters, i gave Young Sheldon a little time and by the 3rd episode it had me laughing my butt off. Watching Young Sheldon almost feels like watching the classic "The Wonder Years" A lot of people just dont give shows a damn chance or time to grow, but want to bash it on the first couple of episodes. I do admit Young Sheldon in the 1st 2 episodes were kinda rocky, but it got better by the 3rd episode, and it grew on me since, just like this show Craig of the Creek :)

Boring, unfunny and unoriginal. Watch something else!
alex992029 July 2022
This cartoon is extremely boring and a complete waste of time, with no humor and what-so-ever. Nothing but some kids playing in a forest...so original and fresh...like this scenario hasnt been done a thousand times before. This show has no jokes, no humor, no memorable characters, no interesting stories, nothing. It's just bland...as bland as a piece of white bread...The characters are drawn just horrible. Take for example JP... why is his nose at a distance of a mile from his mouth? I will never gonna watch more of it even I get paid or my life would depend on it.

If you still feel like a child inside
emihled6 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The show most of the time will deliver the joke at just the right moment. It's nice too watch a show and be like,"Hey,I used to do that as a child too."I am not going to lie and say I enjoy every episode but most of the time I do.The best episode in the series for me is when Kelsey is left at the Creek alone while JP and Craig are looking for a toilet. With the A plot about Kelsey it is mostly about what she does when she is alone, I didn't need jokes pouring out of this plot because the JP and Craig plotline had that covered.I just love the show for what it is and I hope it keeps on going for some time.

bellamgagliardino23 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I like how it's based on black heritage, but in such bad animation style? I feel so bad for sonic because you made him into a ferret. And on behalf of the poor anime references. I really hope the whole "Creek king" lore will lead up to the last episode. Because something like that would make me forgive the show.
