Alex Danvers: A couple of bruised ribs and what feels like a giant hematoma on my ass. But it could have been worse. It could have been rugby.
J'onn J'onzz: Alex, you could have been killed.
Supergirl: Don't joke.
Alex Danvers: Calm down. Winn, please give them something else to think about.
Winn Schott: Uh... we lost track of Reign and Julia, like, minutes after they flew away.

Unleash the Worldkillers
Before going on a long 2 month break (to make way for Legends to return and Black Lightning to keep its spot), I expected this episode to end with a huge Reign reveal, and it seemed like it was going that route for a long time. Unfortunately, it was a little bit more anticlimactic. However, luckily the episode kept this season's steady footing and delivered another solid outing.
Samantha continued to have issues regarding her blackouts and it looks like it's finally bleeding into her work life as she had one right in front of Lena. I don't know how they will go about revealing Samantha as Reign, but it sure seems like they are keen on having her return for future seasons. Kara's line about not defeating but saving the world killers makes it clear that Samantha will likely either be redeemed or just simply saved out of her alter ego. And let's be honest, knowing how badly this show needs a good villain, keeping her on for more than one season is not a bad thing.
The new worldkiller, Purity, brought the worst out of Alex, who all of a sudden went on an emotional rage after not believing in redeeming Purity/Julia. As it turns out, Alex has had some deeper regrets/feelings over Maggie and essentially feels lost without her. Sure seems like a retread of plenty of her episode arcs this season, and this one certainly didn't prove to be anything we haven't heard or seen. Perhaps we will finally get some closure towards the back half of this season.
In all, the episode kept the pacing of this season steady, while also making some progress (albeit not as much as I thought) in the Samantha/Reign arc.
