For 10 to 15 Year old Boys
GoldenGooner0427 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
For 10 to 15 years old Its a clever film, but a total load of dodo and a Drone is rather loud, so you might just hear it in a quiet garden, and the killing of the dog, talk about bad.

Funny? Not particularly. Bad? For sure.

Warning: Spoilers
THE DRONE is another campy horror flick about a sentient inanimate object with the will to kill. It falls somewhere in the region of RUBBER (about a killer tyre) rather than minor genre classics like CHILD'S PLAY. This film is cheap and cheesy, with unbelievable acting and laughable direction throughout; the spirit of a serial killer somehow enters a drone and proceeds to terrorise a young couple. Some liberal dollops of gore do nothing to increase the film's entertainment value, and the whole thing seems to have been designed for those who get a kick out of the deliberately bad likes of the SHARKNADO films. I give it a thumbs down.

Dumbest movie ever
markwardlaw-4806515 March 2020
Take the concept of Chucky from Child's Play, substitute it with a drone, add in the worst dialogue, then give it a budget of $30. This movie isn't supposed to be that funny, but the sheer stupidity and unbelievable writing makes it humorous to watch with friends. The story is riddled with plot holes, the effects are very limited, and the characters are nonsensical. If you like "so bad it's good," then you can have fun with this one.

How do films like these get financed? Absolutely bonkers to think that people pay to make these kind of films, let alone anyone watches them. Avoid like the plague.

Terrible but somehow compelling
ryanconnor-7038815 October 2021
This movie cannot be taken seriously. Its plot on one hand ridiculous and on the other perhaps a glimpse of a future where AI does go too far.

However I still watched it to the end and somehow enjoyed it.

My advice....take it as it is.

Warning: Spoilers
A serial killer who uses a drone to spy on women before killing them is being chased by the cops and ends up dying. His spirit enters the drone which then takes on a life of its own - like Chucky. The drone ends up in the home of a young couple who begin to notice strange things beginning to happen in the house.

It's a cheesy, comical B movie but, the acting is fine, it doesn't take itself seriously, the characters are likable and believable, and the story doesn't hang about. I enjoyed it.

6/10 from me.

It's a spoof of sorts.
Java_Joe26 June 2020
This is a movie that is rather self-aware. Basically take the idea behind "Child's Play" with the killer doll Chuckie and you have this movie. It's ridiculous, it's silly and if you're willing to turn your brain off and just go with it then you might have a good time.

Sure there's a lot of problems with it but what movie doesn't have plot holes? In short it's a not quite original horror story that doesn't take itself very seriously so neither should you.

Loved it! It's the best dumbest film I've ever seen, but..
Top_Dawg_Critic19 October 2019
For starters, the concept of a simple drone as the antagonist in a horror-comedy is genius!

This film is by far the best dumbest and cheesiest horror-comedy film I've ever seen, but I really wish it had ended after the fire (don't want to give too much away). The extra 5 minutes just took away from the normal entertaining nonsense that happened prior, and had me saying "ytho?" Had that been omitted and ended right there, I would've given this low-budget B-grade film a 9/10.

Still though, I enjoyed every aspect - the cheesy and entertaining acting and characters, the gore (lmao at bathroom scene!), the suspense and thrills, and that drone actually became a character to me, albeit the real star was some kid behind the scenes with the controller lol.

If you're looking for lavish cinematography or a deep message, you won't find it here. The Drone is just silly entertainment with some fun kills. It doesn't ask to be taken seriously; it just wants us to smile. We need more of these films.

It's a well deserved 7.5 rounded up to an 8/10 from me. If anyone thinks this review is fake, click on my username to see my 1000+ ratings and 700+ reviews. Then grab the popcorn and go see this little gem!

Apart from the predictable and far fetched storyline and the cheesy acting, I actually enjoyed this movie and I rated it a 6 based on its comedic value and its general feel, i think some will love it and others will hate it but overall it wasn't too bad at all!

Laughably bad.

Warning: Spoilers
The Drone... where to start. This film is terrible, as so many low budget horror films are. The cast is reasonable, obviously nice to look at, but otherwise wooden. The film starts, similarly to Child's Play, with our titular villain 'magically' transferring himself at the point of death (having had his serial killer ways revealed to the police) into a flying, remote control drone. A photographer finds the drone, and takes it home to his wife, and it begins to mine their personal data, and take pictures of them, and others, writing emails in their names, essentially appearing to try and break them up - but why??? Turns out the serial killer used to go out with the good lady wife of the photographer - one of many unbelievable events, seeing as how, when alive he resembled a rat, and she is smoking hot. Anyhoo, the drone proceeds to kill their promiscuous blonde neighbour, the family dog, and frames the husband, the police take him in, and the wife smashes the drone... The end you'd think, but no!! The drone manages to survive, rotors intact, and goes to it's brothers house, where it manages to convince him in quick order that it is his dead serial killer brother. A quick call to amazon later and the drone is now flying robocop - did we forget the brother happens to be a tech wiz? The police decide to release the husband and he, and the wife hire a PI, who finds the address of our drone's brother, before meeting a very violent end, and the couple go to, and end up killing the drone's bother, just because. Returning to their house to pack and leave, they are trapped by the newly upgraded drone (now complete with voice synthesizer) and it terrorises them a bit more. The police turn up, and are dispatched in short order, and our heroes destroy the drone. The end... or not!!! In a 'brilliant' twist the drone manages to transfer the serial killer into the husband, who then attacks the wife, she stabs him in the eye with an electrical plug, kicks him through a window, off a balcony, and impales him on the grave marker of the buried family dog - all the way through a la Dracula. This wooden pole is about four inches in diameter. In the final moments of the film the husband seems to regain control, and, brutally broken, bleeding from everywhere, impaled, and with one eye gone, the wife utters the immortal line "Are you ok?" Clearly miffed with such total lack of attention to what she has just done to his body, the husband dies, along with part of my soul. Now the film really ends. I don't care if there was a post credits scene, as this was utter dross.

So what are you guys into?
nogodnomasters22 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A drone once owned by a killer/rapist/ voyeur shows up at the house of photographer Chris (John Brotherton ) and his wife Rachel (Alex Essoe). The device appears to have a mind of its own as it films them having sex and travels around the neighborhood filming the local MILF. It makes a noise and has running lights so I question its stealth capability. Our newlywed couple becomes more than annoyed.

The film is okay, but by no means great entertainment. They gave personality to the neighbor but stopped there.

Guide: F-word. Sex. No nudity.

80's Throwback
ant36au2 February 2020
What a disappointment in this throwback to the 80's where there is zero character develop, zero rapport with the actors and a really bad script,in fact,I think it's an insult to the movies of that period, give this one a miss.

KoolCatReviews5 April 2020
So it's comedy and it's nearly funny and its a horror but it isn't scary. Without the padding and at the bare bones this is werid movie that you would watch just to have fun with. However it feels much longer than it is. There are moment of true comedy but is it worth watching the whloe thing for a few laughs!?

Remotely entertaining.
BA_Harrison25 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Jordan Rubin's follow up to his undead rodent horror/comedy Zombeavers is a tongue-in-cheek technological thriller with a premise so knowingly ridiculous that it's hard not to enjoy at least a bit, despite a lot less of the sexiness and outrageous gore that helped to make his previous film so entertaining.

John Brotherton and Alex Essoe play married couple Chris and Rachel, who find themselves menaced by a consumer drone possessed by the spirit of a serial killer. This silly set up allows for numerous very daft scenes as the drone flies by itself, carrying out a series of acts (including killing the family dog and murder) in order to get Chris out of the picture: it eventually transpires that the serial killer was an ex-boyfriend of Rachel's, and he is still obsessed with her.

The novelty of the sentient drone menacing the couple does get a touch tired towards the end, and the lack of serious splatter is a little disappointing (the drone bumping off a private eye by flying up his butt is all too brief, while the double decapitation of two policemen is only seen as a shadow against a wall), but the game performances and a general sense of fun go a long way to making this a serviceable time-waster.

5.5/10, rounded up to 6 for IMDb.

A movie to make drone pilot like myself look bad
orcatrainer18 October 2019
No seriously, how could this movie exist ? Acting is super bad to begin with, but the worse part of this movie in my opinion is making drone "evil" devices that can easily spy on people privacy. This comes of course at the worse time where people worries about those and FAA is trying to make even more strict rules, just because of a few idiots out there who fly their device recklessly.

That's what most of drone-hater out there thinks they can do, while realistically you can't spy with those device at all. First, model used in this movie appears to be a DJI Phantom drone, which is a pretty loud quad which you will know is right there. Sorry, can't be stealth at all like the movie want you to believe. Second, the camera on those drone is not good enough to see well inside any house or even a backyard in that matter, especially from far away.

And to conclude, I just want to remind to some people that military satellites and helicopter can if they want, read your license plate from space or far away in the air (or yes look through your windows) much more easily than the drone fly around by Mr everybody.

Popcorn fun for a Friday night
mungflesh1 September 2019
It's a similar concept to that of Child's Play, except for some reason it feels completely absurd to suggest a drone could be possessed by an evil spirit and not a doll, which is arguably the wrong way round.

So, it's the old tale of bad guy gets killed and his spirit enters a drone. The drone is then found by an unsupecting couple and becomes part of their family and proceeds to mess up their lives bit by bit.

It's packed with cheesy lines and unbelievably silly moments but is in fact quite fun and also funny. It's probably more of a straight comedy than a horror or thriller so don't expect a dark movie with black humour - it's very light entertainment, with a few bloody moments but nothing too surprising.

Utterly ridiculous but at least self-aware.

Don't bother.

Its a bad movie with bad acting. Concept is cool which pushed me to rank it a 3.6 but Jon Mayer caused it to lose a point.

Cheese to the max

Let Down Movie!
amgee-8955127 December 2019
I really like Alex Essoe as a actress! If she continues to be in bad films like the drone and red island. She will only be a b horror flicks actress! She has proven that she's an talented actress when she done Starry Eyes! Essoe Could be the next jamie Lee Curtis if she picks her roles! Who agrees? The Drone only have a few good moments! Lucky I just only paid 99p to rent out this very cheesy unfunny flick!

The acting and script are just terrible
mlbit23 October 2019
The script and performance of mist of the actors are wooden and amateurish. The whole idea of a sentient drone just sucks beyond belief. Odd that the sets /props and the cinemagraphic quality are quite professional.
