Nothing much to say really, it's not great & it's not god awful, the story is a bit lame & has been done before way better, but it definitely has a bit of creepy factor, the production values are pretty good considering it was obviously low budget, the acting was above par from a cast that i had never personally heard of, although 1 or 2 faces looked familiar, so all in all not a complete waste of my time, i definitely won't be watching it again though, 5/10

The women has been living in this house all her life, 40 plus years she knows there is a demon in the reflection of the mirror, all this time, why did she not remove all the mirrors instead of covering them up.
2 young niece come to live with her after the death of her sister, what did you think was going to happen, on remove the paper on top of the mirror and all hell breaks loose.
Its like they did not even try.... the movie is not that bad but its not that great either.

Well for a horror movie released in 2020, "Behind You" feels more like something from the 1990s, for better or worse - depending on your particular preference of horror movie of course.
I hadn't heard about this movie prior to getting a chance to watch it. And it being a horror movie was essentially enough to catch my attention. So I sat down to watch it with zero expectations.
"Behind You" proved to be adequately entertaining. Granted, it wasn't an outstanding or particularly memorable horror movie, nor was it a movie that I will be watching a second time around. But it turned out to be adequately entertaining for what it turned out to be.
In terms of scares and thrills, then "Behind You" was lacking majorly in this department, especially for a seasoned horror veteran such as myself. Sure, I believe that newcomers to the horror genre might find this movie to have scenes that are scary. But for me, it was just a bit too generic and seen in other movies already.
The acting in the movie was good, and that was actually the movie's strongest selling point.
I am rating "Behind You" a mediocre five out of ten stars.

This is a strange one. I gave it 4/10. I could have gone lower but what stopped me was the performance of the actors who tried their best with nothing to try, and the production value and I did get some sort of entertainment out of it.
There were many holes in the plot and people just get buried and nobody really seems to look for them. The end is also not very good or deep. The police say this was reported as a murder homicide. By whom? Certainly not the husband of the murdered woman, as he couldn't have had any idea about the problem. Nobody could have known. Absolutely inexplicable.
That out of the way. It is watchable. If you pretend it is an episode of something like The Outer Limits, you can forgive quite a few faux pas' and just enjoy the ride, despite and maybe even because of the bad and often illogical script.
Nothing makes much sense, but you do kind of want to know what comes next. They tried a few twists at the end and even though you may shake your head at another silly thing it won't be in hatred.
I wouldn't recommend this as a first choice, but there is far worse out there and if you happen to have to watch it, you won't cry about it either. Rainy afternoon and bored and nothing else on? Then this will hit the spot just fine.

The cinematography was okay, but the writing wasn't at all. When the plot is rice paper thin and yet the characters feel compelled to explain the plot in the movie to ad nauseam, you know this film is in trouble.

Ok so how many of you have seen videos on YouTube of people standing in front of mirrors and their reflections not copying their movements and in some cases moving in a completely different way.
I can't say if there various videos on YouTube are true or not but imagine if they were.
If a spirit was inside the mirror making the reflection act differently.
So we see 2 sisters being dumped at a relatives house where strange things have been happening and one of the rules is to keep out of the basement.
Of course you can guess what happens next and it does but not in a way I've seen before and actually I was quite impressed how the film makers actually made a very tired and used on many occasions story different from the usual rest such as Brahms the boy 2 (yawn).
No give this one a try because you may be pleasantly surprised as I was.

The acting wasn't the worst, for a low budget movie it was ok. There were numerous times you found yourself saying 'really, now who would do that?' It's one of those movies that the characters actions were so stupid that you just felt angered from the stupidity. The writing could have been better, or at least believable of what people would do in the same situation.
Not nearly as bad as the wannabe critics claim.

I personally love horror movies. Always have. Ive seen good ones and bad ones as well as horrible ones. This isn't the best movie I've ever seen, but its very very far from the worst. Its nice to characters in a horror movie with a story, character development, and to be honest, some humanity in the characters. For me, a good horror movie delivers more than just gore and jump scares. Id watch this one again.

Not horrible, just predictable. Sick of the traditional horror movie making methods with the jump scares & predictability but also the wanna be realistic tries too. We honestly need a fresh new method to making scary movies & none has done that in year &/or if ever honestly.

Upon the death of their mother, Olivia (Addy Miller ) and Claire (Elizabeth Birkner ) go live with their estranged Aunt Beth (Jan Broberg) in a large creepy house. Beth and the house have a history that we see in the opening clip. Claire breaks every rule that Beth has given them and soon the evil entity appears and possession being 9/10ths of the law and half a film.
There was nothing bad about the film. The problem is this is crowded genre and it didn't stand out. It needed a hook.

This movie was selected from a long list of possibilities in a search for a good old fashioned scary ghost story. I am a huge horror fan, and I watch movies a lot. So I consider myself a good judge of the genre This movie made a ton of promises, with very little payout. You get set up for the usual spooky secrets in the haunted house/ basement bit, complete with children to scare witless, and seemingly disgruntled relatives. So lets dig in........and waiting..........and waiting..........Other than a slow passing of character exposition, where we get reminded that there are dark secrets in this house, the bulk of the movie goes by with very little actual supernatural events. Then just before you decide you really have wasted your night on a boring movie, it explodes into a non-stop horror roller coaster. 90% of the action takes place in the last 10% of the movie. The rest of the movie felt juvenile and cheesy. Just too little too late for me.
It is terrible.

Don't let the bad reviews fool you. This movie impressed me and I wasn't expecting much to start with.
Interesting story, some good acting moments, great atmosphere and story twists.
In the line of conjuring, although more "amateurish", it is a very well built story, that will keep you interested until the end.
I was satisfied, giving a 7 to up the ratings, worth a 6.
Could be much better, but is very good already, with there were more efforts like this nowadays, in a sea of bad movies out there.
I can't believe I wasted an hour of my life on this.

Good things about this movie: they killed a demon with peanut butter. No movie, I wasn't laughing with you, I was 100% laughing AT you.
Bad things about this movie: pretty much everything else.
The acting was absolutely abysmal. I could somewhat forgive the two younger girls, but to be completely honest, even their acting was better than the two main adults in the movie. My husband and I had to contain our laughter every time the male actor opened his mouth.
Talking about him, I honestly don't even know if his name was mentioned. We watched this movie 2 hours ago and I could not tell you the name of 1 single character. They just kept throwing names after name and then kind of forgetting about what they said for 30 minutes, then bringing it up again. Trying to follow this movie gave me a migraine.
When making a movie that revolves around anaphylaxis, please try to at least make it somewhat believable? Like honestly, they never take the girl to the hospital, her airways completely close off 15 seconds after eating peanut butter... this scene alone made me so angry I couldn't focus on the rest of your movie.
If you're someone like me who loves making fun of terrible horror movies, this is the one for you. If you're looking for a good movie, skip this one and save yourself the headache.

When it comes to horror films there can only be so much originality so I don't get why people complain about that when there's really only four plots. That being possession/excorcism, slasher, psychological, or haunted house. This is a fine haunted house flick and certainly has its moments. Not bad for a low budget Hulu horror movie.
This movie dishes out justice worse than Stalin.

Very boring formula flick, with the usual boogeyman cliches and dreary, dumb kids. Perhaps it's low-budget, but it tries to emulate the big-budget Hollywood stinkers.
A dumb screenplay too. The woman allowing the older girl to go back into the house for her teddy bear was beyond stupid. The girl talking to the teddy bear in the first place was a very lame plot-device. The adults locking up the older girl was rather silly. The guy turning against his long-time friend - by actually listening to the older girl - lacked credibility. The young girl not helping aunt's male friend by simply stabbing into the air (because it worked earlier) but allowing him to stab himself - pretty weak.
Yeah, characters stabbing with pieces of mirror wildly into the air. That's the kind of movie this is.
If mirrors allow the demon to enter the world then get rid of the mirrors. Simple.
What a wonderful ending, huh? The girls whose negligence and stupidity caused the mayhem survived, while the adults both snuffed it due to the foolishness of these same girls. Nice. Two grieving girls get tortured by a demon, and the demon gets his revenge against the couple that killed it decades earlier. Nice. Stalin would have been proud.
So were these buffoon film-makers hoping for a sequel then? Sure, billions of people are clamoring to buy advance tickets already.
