A few years ago it seemed like the medical drama was dead. CBS kept greenlighting ones that were done after one failed season and no one wanted to touch it. Now ABC has a hit with The Good Doctor, NBC is riding Chicago Med as an anchor on certain days and Grey's Anatomy is still pulling in big numbers.
FOX may have finally found its one though. Granted, after this pilot I have my reservations as it makes the same mistake all these shows do (too much random sex, too cliched characters) but it does move at a quicker pace than most.
Matt Czuchry may not be a lead, but his character is refreshing because he is not quite Dr. House over the top, but he's the kind of arrogant individual you might actually find at your local hospital.
I'll give the show some more time to grow. It was a good start, but they need to try to be unique. Don't try to force couples for us to ship down our throats right out of the gate. Allow that to develop naturally.
