A movie with no soul
joppanLive3 January 2018
The movie starts with a nice plot of 4 jobless youngsters exploring different ways to become successful. There are few one liners that evoke laughter here and there, but as a whole, this movie failed miserably. There are many scenes that are expected to make one laugh turns out to be boring and redundant. The first half goes without much excitement. The movie picked its pace at the starting of second half with a plot twist, but didn't capitalize on the potential of the plot. Dhyan, Srinath, Aju and Harish fits nicely to their roles, and Mamta's cameo was good. It was the script that made this film down.

In short, Goodalochana = (2:30 hrs of mediocre entertainment + Boredom + very few laughs). My advice: Watch it without any expectation.

Capsule Review: Goodalochana
nairtejas9 January 2018
Dhyan Sreenivasan maybe a decent actor but his writing is not up to even the average mark as Goodalochana terribly fails at comedy. For a funny drama, the film has like 5 jokes in total. Everything else is just tasteless drama. Director Thomas Sebastian manages to start it off well but unfortunately after the first 20 minutes, the light-hearted plot takes a turn to never be found again. The writers have used all the tricks in the book to drive comedy into their story but none of them succeed in making you laugh. Thankfully, they cast Aju Varghese and Hareesh Perimanna, who fool around a little but that's about it. Goodalochana almost feels like a film that gasps for an entertaining factor similar to how a fish would gasp for breath when it's out of the water. There is no proper direction in the story, no strong theme that it settles in, or even a steady flow of jokes to keep your entertained. While the actors have tried their best to do their job, the rookieness of the director and the script writers clearly shows in their characterization, which is almost like improvisation. Except the message that you need to work hard and be deterministic to succeed in life, this film has nothing new to offer. Goodalochana, therefore, is a film that shouldn't have existed. There's no reason you should waste more than 2 hours on this terribly long and terribly boring film TN.

Hiccupy starting, satisfying closure
varundevik7 October 2020
The first half of the movie is usual jobless youths trying to make shortcut money, while later half it gets better with some nice movements. If you have patience you may enjoy the movie at least one time. Performances are ok, music and screenplay are let downs.
