Visual Trash
bloodlettingproductions26 September 2019
Thie story, plot the dialogue and characters have been replaced with visuals. Visuals don't make a movie. There is no creativity, just shot after shot of visuals. Terrible.

Disjointed
flyonwall8 February 2022
I had no idea this was supposed to be an anthology until I saw the synopsis on IMDb. Prime's description made no mention and the most troubling part, while watching, I had no idea.

This could have been saved if it was given an extra 20 minutes of runtime to set up a decent framing device between stories.

Good idea
tkactor427 September 2023
Somewhere, in the idea, there's a film. Lilith is not that film. This is just a terrible film. In every way, it fails. The acting, the directing, make-up, "special effects," and especially the writing. It's excruciating to watch. Just a side issue: if you're going to have film with a destroy the patriarchy point of view, perhaps having female representation on the production team would be wise. I doubt that would have helped this steaming pile but I feel it needs to be stated. Don't waste your time with this one. There is no redeeming quality here. I only give it 2 stars for the attempt. It's just sad that the result is so awful.

Yet Another Abject Piece of Garbage with Phony Good Reviews
arfdawg-16 January 2019
This movie is one gigantic piece of garbage. Excruciatingly badly directed with no real plot and non-existent acting. Writing? I get the feeling this script was written by that one in six billion monkeys who randomly typed on the keyboard.

IMDB says the budget of $300K. They should have bought a house and had an investment that would give returns.

Not entirely bad for an antology, but
gacsogergely20 January 2019
Yes, the acting is terribly weak. The directing is lame. All the cinematic crew are, with the exception of the props may, sub-par. It worth 4-5 out of 10, if you can get over these unqualified actors, weird camera angles, and overal half-amatourish weaknesses, but this is like Cradle of Filth without the over-the-top violence what moved that movie.

Lastly, Noël VanBrocklin has some physical condition what makes her do those weird, smirky, one-sided smiles, or what? She is beautiful, but need some actingclasses and a mirror/watching back what she's doing, or will end up in porn. Not that anything's bad with that.

Rather mundane actually...
paul_haakonsen23 May 2020
I didn't know what I was in for here, I assumed it was a horror movie, but I didn't know that it was an anthology. Actually that didn't really dawn upon me before the movie ended, and I was wondering what kind of movie it was, because there wasn't really a red line throughout the movie.

For an anthology movie, then "Lilith" wasn't particularly impressive. Sure, it was watchable, but hardly an outstanding moment in horror cinema. In fact, the movie was very bland, and chances are high that you'll quickly forget about the movie once you've seen it.

The special effects were adequately made. Mind you, they weren't outstanding, but they were functional and served their purpose well enough. Luckily "Lilith" wasn't a movie that was overly relying on special effects. But for a horror movie, then special effects are always a plus.

As for the acting, well again I will say this was also adequately, taking into consideration the level of production of the movie. People were performing well enough, but nothing outstanding or particularly memorable here, unfortunately.

Ultimately "Lilith" was a horror anthology that didn't leave much of a lasting impression. Sure, the concept of the Lilith character is interesting, but it wasn't really translating well to the screen.

I am rating "Lilith" a three out of ten stars. I managed to sit through the entire movie, but I wasn't overly entertained. And this is not a movie that warrants a second viewing.

Lilith
BandSAboutMovies24 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This horror anthology follows Lilith as she the demon herself as she punishes men for their indiscretions against women. It's directed by Alexander T. Hwang, who made Paranormal Attraction and Shelter In Place, it has plenty of horror favorites, including Felissa Rose as one of the many versions of Lilith, who is being pursued by a detective who wants to stop her. Through this story, we are introduced to other moments where Lilith has punished, as well as other tales that include another pretty well-known genre star, Vernon Wells, who plays a man at the end of his life trying to come to terms with what he has done to hurt women.

It's a good idea that works at some points and doesn't at other times. At least you have to give it to the filmmakers for putting together a story that attempts to bring together several stories. Over the last few years of streaming films, so many movies try to be anthologies and forget that the actual thread needs to be there.

A Scary and Fun ride
mikemazze26 January 2023
I enjoyed this movie a lot. It was scary and well made. Definitely a great crazy ride.

Jennifer Nangle was awesome as usual. I wish she was in more of the movie. I hope to see more of her! This is by far one of the best indie projects I've seen in a while.

Lilith is an original anthology with great stories. The Caregiver was definitely my favorite. All of the stories were interesting and different yet all connected to the demon Lilith.

Stories include Young Love, Caretaker, Lust and serial killer. I enjoyed all of these stories with Caregiver being my favorite of the bunch.

Definitely watch this!!!

One of the scariest movies of 2018
shagee797726 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Alex T. Hwang's film Lilith delivers the scares. Lilith is a demonic version of Death Wish! All evil doers will feel he wrath.

Lilith is a clever original anthology. There is no host, but all the stories connect. Lilith Is in the title role of each segment, letting out her revenge on evil people! The movie starts off with an intro to our title characters Lilith player by the talented and beautiful Felissa Rose. And also we meet Detective Ryan Carson (Thomas Haley), who is out to kill Lilith for some unknown reason. But is unfolded through out each segment of the anthology. Which cleverly ties all the stories together.

Young Love written by Richard Aguirre is a story about a young student Brialynn Massie who is having a sexual affair with her much older and married teacher (Michael John Murphy). His fun little romp of pure sex and promises of leaving his wife blind her until the unthinkable happens. She discovers she is pregnant! Her best friend played by Lara Jean is worried on how she is dealing. Also two boys (Hunter Johnson and Charles Chudabala)from her class suspect an affair. One of them that was promised a date flips out when he finds out what has occurred. A terrible result unfolds when she confronts the teacher and he blows her off feeling alone and desperate.

Now her best friend and the two friends try to extort money for there silence on her pregnancy and what has happened due to the teachers heartless actions.

But in comes Lilith and all hell breaks loose and the blood flows as Lilith makes the evil ones pay for what they did!

Care Taker, a segment written by Anthony Werley Stars Vernon Wells. He plays a dying man on oxygen and in a wheelchair waiting to die and be reunited with his dead wife!

Lilith comes in the image of his dead wife (Jennifer Nangle)and a game of cat and mouse pursues and more an more of his past is revealed. As sets the pattern of this excellent acted segment revenge . This has to be one of Vernon Wells most powerful performances that I have seen. It's a really chilling segment!

Lust, also written by Anthony Werley. This starts off with a sex addict (Colton Wheeler) that is caught pleasuring himself watching porn by his wife (Emily Coupe). He pleads for her forgiveness and she leaves him behind for a retreat that she is attending!

Hanging with his friends they comvince him to contact a call girl to relieve all his stress and needs. A beautiful women arrives at his house and he really relieves a lot of stress in on of the sexy of the stories!

Once again Lilith returns in the form of the prostitute to help him with his perversions that may blow his mind for the ultimate sex! Lilith doesn't like lying cheating husbands!

Serial Killer, written by Paul McFall, Richard Aguirre, and Alex T. Hwang. Is a bloody creepy serial killer on the loose story. He lured innocent young girls to his house and has his way with them. Torturing and performing sex acts then killing them.

His latest victim may be to much for him to handle when Lilith (Devanny Pinn)arrives looking once again to avenge his victims!

What I love about this is that Ale T. Hwang directed all the segments leaving it flawless the in style and continuity of each story. Your really not watching a an anthology but a well told story in segments that all intertwined and make sense at the end. You really get to know who and what Lilith is about.

All the stories have to do with revenge on men that do wrong to women and Lilith is sought of a savior for tormented women. All there horror that these girls endured in these segments would of gone unnoticed and these men would of been set free to continue to do there misdeeds!

Each women she portrays are different in nature and different types of women. But in the end they all have one thing in common they have Lilith in there lives!

Thomas Haley as the suffering dad out to find out all he can about Lilith is a strong actor and has fun with his role. He gets to show every emotion and really carries the role with a lot of confidence and professionalism!

A young actor that I have seen a few times all ready Charles Chudabala is a really witty scene stealer and a joy to watch! He is fresh off of a starring role in The Ugly Sweater Party and does it again here!

Hwang also has a lot to do with a majority of the stories. The stories all worked well and fed off each other. The young ladies who played the different stages of Lilith all deserve praise in there vengeful results of there assailants. There are a few times I jumped and Hwang knows how to play the audience and catch them off guard. Cesar Withingham contributed excellent cinematography and took this movie's look to a higher level.

The movie quality and sound really adds to the appeal of a very enjoyable horror movie that deserves a look.

A fun and enjoyable indie effort
kannibalcorpsegrinder31 July 2021
After capturing a legendary demon, a cop and his priest friend decide to exorcise her in order to stop a rampage she's carried out taking over the bodies of other women that need revenge carried out for them.

The Good Stor(ies): Young Love-After meeting up with her crush, a scorned student commits suicide when her pregnancy reveal is renounced and their relationship dismissed when no one else can help her. When her friends decide to exact payback, they find their plans interrupted by a spirit seeking revenge for his actions. Overall, this was a pretty solid beginning to this one. The early setup for the various characters, from the way the girls manage to exude their goofy, laidback relationship together against the guys and their back-and-forth banter, sets up what's going on rather nicely. Once the result of their tryst and betrayal is learned, the shock and grief that emerges for them to attempt to pull off the plan they do is sound enough to see what they were trying. The resulting chases and encounters as her supernatural revenge offer up the kind of fun rampage that's highly enjoyable with some decent deaths and indie gore spread throughout here for a fun time. While the finale is rushed to where it seems to end just as it was generating some fun, it's not much of a drawback to be had here.

Care Taker-Arriving at a nursing home, a strange woman begins treating her disabled client who's somewhat put off by her resemblance to his deceased wife. As time goes by and he realizes the demonic intentions behind her visit, he realizes what he needs to do to get her to leave him alone. This was a solid and enjoyable effort. The setup involving their unease with each other about her appearance is an intriguing touch, much like the eventual reveal about who she really is and what she's there for is a fine touch, especially when these factors lead to far darker buried secrets that cause some fun brutality in what's going on. That this is generally dialog-based could cause some discomfort here since there's not much going on until the ending reveal so this has the potential to be quite slow-going for this kind of build-up although there's still a lot to like.

Lust-Trying to fix their relationship, a guy addicted to online porn stays home while his wife decides to head to a religious retreat to work on herself. At his friends' insistence, he books a special call-girl to help his problems only to realize the woman he's invited over isn't who she claimed to be. This one was enjoyable enough but did have some issues. The early setup for their marital woes and the need for the friends to get involved creates some interesting storylines here, especially with the manner in how the prostitute gets involved. Their scenes together are somewhat erotically charged and sensual before the changeover into the more brutal, hardcore trappings which is a nice turn since we know what's going on yet he doesn't until the hallucinatory sequence involving the creature taking him out in graphic matters. It does seem highly illogical that this would play out as such even with the marital problems and the friends' urging to do so which strains the credibility somewhat yet overall, there's likee else to dislike beyond how long it takes to get going.

Serial Killer-after Stopping on the side of the road, a man abducts a stranded woman and takes her back to his place in order to continue his brutal torture and dismemberment. When he's about to finish his work, a stranger appears that threatens his perfect plans. This was a rather impressive and enjoyable segment. The swarmy attitude and matter he has during the abduction is a fun way to set off the red flag about what's he's going to do, while the calm and collected means he portrays while torturing her psychologically manage to effectively paint him as creepy without being over-the-top about it. When the twist occurs and he's forced to confront the very kind of treatment he inflicted on others it's quite enjoyable leading to the fantastic reveal of the new demon in the room. It's not nearly as graphic enough as it could've been for the kind of storyline that goes on but it's not enough to lower this segment.

The Bad Stor(ies): Showdown-After capturing a legendary demon, a cop and his priest friend decide to conduct a dangerous exorcism to free the spirit within her and stop a rampage she's carried out by taking over the bodies of other women that need revenge carried out for them. As they carry out their plans, however, they realize they're in far greater danger than expected. This was a pretty underwhelming wrap-around segment that doesn't really reach its promised potential. The starting point here with the capture at the facility among the various stalking and cheesy ambush scenes gives this a great start, but the resulting interrogation and torture tactics are usually interrupted by the switch into the next story to be told. Rather than set up for sure how she's carrying out the revenge, it sticks to the idea of him coming upon the bodies after-the-fact which is only revealed once you begin to question why he's showing up at all the crime scenes since the confrontations don't make it known that he's aware of anything. The rushed finale could've been more fun but is over so quickly it robs a bit of its power, keeping this one down from what it could've been.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Violence, Nudity, and a sex scene.

Definitely See It!
laurazone1 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Lilith was extremely original in that it was more of a violent art compilation than a traditional horror film. In true nature of an anthology (with each story having its own individual set of writers and actors), all of the shorts had a different definition of the true meaning of horror while all being connected to the supernatural demon.

"Serial Killer" depicted my Worst Nightmare!!! Watching a charming good samaritan offering road side assistance turn into a merciless sadistic cold blooded murderer tapped into my greatest fears. I was on the edge of my seat - too afraid to watch and too fascinated to look away.

"Care Taker" really shined with it's fresh writing as it explored the horror of how low a man's morality can sink. The protagonist, who was a dying elderly man, was a special type of evil - committing indiscretions against women while he was living and requesting his dead angelic wife to be removed from heaven in order to keep him company in hell while he was dying.

"Young Love" was the most touching. The plot revolved around a married high school teacher who dumped and abandoned his teenage student after he learned that she was pregnant with his child. The teacher eventually ended up paying for his sins with his blood, but the horror that struck me the was the deep psychological pain I empathized with in the student's feelings of heartbreak, shame, and hopelessness.

"Lust" lived up to its name as it was the most graphic and shocking out of all of the shorts.

Definitely See It!
