The BBC has very much done Wilkie Collins wonderful text justice, the penultimate episode has continued the momentum, all is set for a thrilling finale. The series has gripped like no other version, the story never more intense or bleak. The abuse that's been shown has had a horrifyingly realism, from the bruises to the beaten down attitude of poor Laura. The acting once again is first rate, Vicki Pepperdine showing in this episode that she's not only a great comedy actor, she can very much do drama. Two things I would say having reached this stage, firstly I think it's Jessie Buckley who's stolen the show as Marian, and secondly I now think the decision to make Count Fosco charming and smouldering was the right decision, it's somehow elevated the character.
I Cannot wait for Part 5.
