Farewell

Warning: Spoilers
Liked this episode, even though it was really sad. Seeing the end of Floki, who I liked, was hard to watch. After losing his daughter and wife, he had to realize minutes before his death that his 'land of the gods' has been explored by the Christians before and therefore everything he did was for nothing... the realization of insignificance brought tears to my eyes. Well done.

Engaging Episode
claudio_carvalho2 February 2019
Floki enters in the cave expecting to find his gods and has a huge surprise. Ubbe has to fight King Frodo in a brutal combat where only one will survive. Bjorn and Harald join forces with Hvitserk and King Olaf to invade Kattegat and overthrown Ivar.

"What Happens in the Cave" is an engaging episode of "Vikings". Floki is again the pointless and annoying segment> Judith is gone and the choreography of the fight between Ubbe and Frodo is impressive. And Ivar will have to use his strategy knowledge to win the battle in Kattegat. My vote is eight,

This episode reminded me why i love this show so much. The storylines were a bit slow over the season but this episode started to tie up their loose ends. I have high hopes for the season finale. Dont dissapoint me.

A little bit confused..

Warning: Spoilers
I loved this episode but there's something bothering me...throughout all this season we have followed Floki's "saga" in the wilderness, and episode after episode we still don't have a clue about the purpose of this story line... and now, a big cross inside a cave in Iceland (?!) What the hell was that? And Floki better not be dead, otherwise HUGE disappointment. The fight between Ubbe and Frodo was quick but great!

The Viking Soap Opera. Finally, a half way decent episode. Swiss Cheese.

The good. Jud is dead. We see her in bed, exhales, turns her head and off to Valhalla she doesn't go. She doesn't go to heaven either, because she killed one of her sons. Also good, we see only a few scenes of Alf the Non-Actor. His mom dies, and it's just laughable the expression on this kids face. He was picked up at a 99 cent store for actors. Alf's wife, just useless. Lag is there for some backdrop. At least Wessex is down to Alf and his wife now.

The great. Ubbe fights Frodo. Now, who would have thought that Ubbe wouldn't win. This was this season's best fight scene. It was short, and just when it was to begin we are shown scenes of Floki and Lag, elaborated later. After the useless Floki and Lag scenes, we're back to Ubbe's battle. It was brutal, but short. Ubbe is messed up, and he rediscovers Oden, and gives up Jesus.

The boring. Alf chaperones these new Vikings, who we know nothing about, onto the lands that Ubbe promised. Very nice scenery. But the picture is empty. Lag kneels down, picks up dirt and says to Ragnar now your dreams have come true. What about that other land that the English gave to Ragnar and then the settlers were killed? We had some more unnecessary acid trip with Lag during and after the battle. Boring and stupid.

The laughable. We had nice scenes of the best actor on this show, Floki, climbing down a cave. Very nice scenes. Then he discovers a huge cross and a chalice. Here, we have the best acting, even though the writing is complete garbage. Floki sees the cross, and starts to laugh, then cry, then shout. His shouts create an earthquake that buries him. I hope Floki is not dead. I'm still hoping he can build a boat and sail to Katagat for the final battle. Let's hope. A useless use of a great character and actor.

The boring. Ok, Bjoke and Harold caught in a storm on their way to attack Ivar. Magnus scared and cries out to Jesus to save him as his baby sitter questions his Vikingness. Harold is pissed off and starts a fight with Bjoke. Gunn stops the fight. Hvit and Olof marching to invade Ivar. Olof has second thoughts. Bjoke and Hvit meet and they ally to kill Ivar. All filler crap.

The nonsense. Ivar The Terrible Actor slaps his woman down after his woman wants to know what happened to the baby. Ivar prepares for the defenses.

What made this episode more tolerable was not having too much time with Alf and Ivar. Floki story was just plain boring. The only thing that saved Floki was the actor. He is great. The whole Bjoke, Harold, Gunn, Hvit and Olof is all filler. Nice costumes with manikins. Lag story was garbage as well but not too long. What saved this was the brutal fight scene with Ubbe and Frodo. And we lost Jud, in a quick exhale.
