I did earn a college degree, so I know my brain works pretty well some of the time. Now, for the life of me, I can not see the point of this movie?

I do understand how Anne's seeing her husband commit suicide would cause her great psychological duress. And it's also reasonable that that same emotional trauma also caused Anne to stop talking, but there's no explanation why Anne was so fixated on the dolls? There's also no history or reason for Anne's hallucinations, her self harming, or any of the other odd behaviors she exhibited throughout the movie. Anne's actions and reactions didn't seem real, they weren't typical for the type of trauma she suffered, nor were they usual for depression, etc., so this movie made no sense to me. Now combine all the aforementioned things with poor acting, poor directing, and poor sound, etc., and you have Anne. I just can't be more generous with my rating--sorry, it's two stars.

This film isn't a horror at all. In fact I'm not sure what it is supposed to be.

It seems to be a low budget film, and it shows. But this (and the moments of poor acting) could be forgiven if the story was interesting - which it isn't.

I can see the concept of the film and what the makers were trying to achieve but it doesn't come through in the production.

According to the description the guy is supposed to be unfolding the 'strange truth' about Ann's illness - but he hardly features in the film, and what he is supposed to be doing is far from clear.

This is a film that tries to be something it isn't and ends up being quite a tedious watch.

Well, first of all I had not even heard even the slightest about the movie titled "Anne" prior to stumbling upon it by sheer random dumb luck. I looked at the cover and deemed it a horror movie. I didn't even read the synopsis for the movie, which I might should have done in retrospect.

In defense of the movie, then I will say that the movie's cover/poster definitely is interesting and serves as a lure quite well, because I was hooked and wanted to check out the movie.

This movie might be labeled "horror", but wow, it was anything but horror. Well, at least the mindboggling 25 minutes of the ordeal that I managed to sit through before I gave up out of sheer boredom. The movie felt like a random conjured series of events handed to director and writer Joseph Mazzaferro and then he had to put something together.

And that he did, but it was just not something that impressed me, captivated me, entertained me or made me want to stick around to finish the movie. I didn't care an ounce about the storyline, nor about the main character. It was definitely not the fault of actress Gail Yost, but she seriously had been given nothing in terms of a proper storyline, script or a character to work with.

The music in the movie was abysmal, and it was so ill-suited for a movie of this kind. It was really misplaced and out of tune with whatever mood that the director was trying to establish with this project.

I gave up on the movie 25 minutes in, and I can honestly say that I am never returning to watch the rest of the movie, because I couldn't care any less about the movie and everything in it. So if you like horror movies, then you are far better off with anything else aside from "Anne".

I'm serious. There is 0 even remotely interesting moments. Dreadful. I cannot give enough reasons to not waste your time with this.

There are dolls in the film, but it has nothing to do with Annabelle, but it does have a bell in it in case you wish to make a connection. Anne (Gail Yost) who looks like a man in a dress, lives alone with dolls. She is not all there. We watch her watch TV and eat from a discontinued Pfaltzgraff bowl to a horrific sound track that sounded like a ukulele with a broken string. It was boring to watch and feel free to fast forward for about an hour into the film.

The production was low budget. It was written, produced, directed and starred Joseph Mazzaferro who was more concerned about Mazz appeal than mass appeal. So bad it is worth a punch on the hacker's card if you can make it all the way through. It does have twist (?) that was as idiotic as the film.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Watched this film last night ,its 1 hour 20 minutes of my life i can never get back , my father was watching with me is still in shock ,think he might never watch another film that i suggest to him ...starts off slow then gets even slower if that is possible made an hour and half seem like a month of Sundays ...avoid at ALL COSTS !!

Any review here giving more than 5 stars is fake. This is the most boring movie I've seen this year. Barely any dialog, and tries too hard to be some artsy-fartsy creepy movie, but just starts as a snore-fest and never picks up the pace, then dies off even slower than it began.

I found Anne on Tubi and it looked interesting, creepy dolls, creepy old woman living alone. Sadly it couldn't seem to find its feet. The music is at times annoying but other times atmospheric, the acting is off and the movie drags on so much. The story itself is interesting but the execution is just bad. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this move but I just couldn't. I could see where the cast and crew really tried, the photography and sound where quite good but that's the only real compliment I can give to this film.

Some old woman who has an obsession with dolls and watching television, then at the end shes apparently been dead all this time?? this movie made absolutely no sense stupidest movie with the stupidest ending ever, this is a piece of garbage don't waste your time this is by far one of the stupidest worst movies i've ever seen, no storyline, not scary, made no sense, just plain stupid.

I have seen many horror movies from many region. and I must voting a movie in IMDB for first time because this movie is not getting rating it deserves. I do not understand why movie like Insidious or Conjuring has better rating, perhaps because those movies is kids age rating. If you ever seen any real horror movie who creators know how to create real fear, then you must watch Anne.

Well this was certainly a weird one! Very strange and unsettling, all atmosphere and virtually no real content or story, just an obviously insane old lady named Anne living her dreary day to day existence in her lonely old house in the presence of her collection of creepy dolls which she alternately dotes on and is cruel to, while growing steadily worse in her mental state until she needs a live-in nurse who seems to have a sinister agenda of her own... I really didn't get this, it felt like it could have been either really sad and tragic or really scary and psychologically disturbing if they had tweaked the plot a little, it feels like it's going somewhere but it doesn't, and the abrupt ending which comes out of nowhere is highly unsatisfying and aggravating, it really lost me once the nurse arrived and the old lady died and she didn't bother to tell the son about it and then she was in cahoots with the other son to get the house or something, whaaaat?? Lol it's like thin gruel, there's nothing you can really take from it, they should have just gone for the gusto and had the dolls come to life and eat the old lady after she buried the one doll that she decided she didn't like, at least that would have been something! Slightly enjoyable as a very weird meditative 'art' piece on loneliness and uh..how dolls can be seriously creepy if you get a lot of them together in one place, about the best thing about it is some very nice and creepy footage with said dolls. Too bad really, there was faint potential for some real horror somewhere, and I have actually seen a lot worse. Very odd, left me frowning and befuddled, it was a thing I watched though, that much I can say for sure! X

I don't even know where to begin. I think the majority of the 'real' reviews speak for me. Started watching this with my wife....we weren't even 15 minutes in and opted to turn it off , watch a Hallmark Mystery movie, then, eat a brownie, and return to this flick, in hopes that it would be more entertaining.... We fought to stay with it to the end, and then promptly regretted doing so. As been said by other reviewers, avoid this movie. Even if you are remotely curious, just DON'T. A whole lot of WTF going on, and none of it entertaining, or artistic. Don't let Nick prune your shrubs...he sucks at it. Don't let Hope have a local tv show, she sucks at it. Don't let Sarah care for your elderly, she sucks at it. Don't let Kyle sell your house, he sucks at it. Nuff said.

I'm a filmmaker, so I give props for having a copy of your film purchased ANYWHERE!!! However, there has to be a point to the story, dots should be connected, and it has to make sense. NONE of this movie did. A woman obsessed with dolls, a son who just pops up within 45 minutes of the movie, a random nurse who suddenly owns the home this woman lives in, and a realtor brother who tells the reason for how things are...

Meanwhile, 110 minutes of a woman with a bad wig, a public access tv show host who's just as bad an actor, and flashbacks with no distinctions? Again, you got this distributed, but the movie should be titled "How?"

My mom is insane and sits doing nothing all day everyday . She has the same hairstyle. The actress pegs crazy as bleep. Yhe dolls are a good reflection of 1930 composition (they crack) and early plastic dolls (1940-1950). If you enjoy torturous continuous tension- this is IT! There are gross scenes... I covered the screen with my hand up sideways near my eyes. I DID peak. The ending is a satisfying convolution. It leaves a little for the audience to argue. To appreciate the crew's tongue in cheek: you must wait PAST the credits to meet each doll. Ha ha! Classic.

So I enjoyed it- but you cant be off your ADD meds watching this crawler. So. Accurate crazy. Plot twist. Teaser ambiguity...gross scenes. Yup. HORROR!! You dont need to meet my mom after meeting Anne.

It was really hard to watch this movie. And no, this is not a bad thing. Anyway, I was the only one who notice that Anne is dead since the beggining of the movie and we was just watching her view from inside a doll? That thought is really creepy!

OK - so it was slow. Not a problem - The Shining was a slow burner until halfway (not comparing them otherwise). Although I only gave it 4* I thought it was a good story about loneliness and mental degradation. How the chat show host appeared to be the only one she could relate to and the obsession with the dolls that led to self mutilation. One thing did confuse me though. It seemed that the son was seeing her ghost when he visited but why the live-in nurse? Was he hallucinating her?

Anyway - not all horror films needs jump scares or gore - sometimes you just have to think about a film for a moment and see things from a character's (or another persons) point of view - something that a lot of people seem incapable of now we've reached the 2020s and a have a culture of hate for anything you don't like or agree with.

Decent low budget thinking persons film 4/10.
