I watched this last night and I must say that I did not expect the story to be this interesting when it reached near the end. without giving anything away I can say that those who are fans of gore and blood you will be disappointed as there is little to none, I was expecting it to be this....also, the 3 ladies are real lookers and played their part well.. good ending as well..

overall, if you cannot find a good movie., you may want to check it out...story is really easy to understand as well..

Bland Horror Flick

This 2020 horror film stars Jaclyn Betham, Scout-Taylor Compton and Landry Allbright. This tells about 3 attractive girls, Tamara (Betham), Maddy (Compton) and Brooke (Allbright) that take a vacation and things take a dark turn when a a backwoods family cult targets them. This is a bland flick that starts off ok but falls apart. There's a bit of eerieness, nice settings and the girls are semi-watchable, but that's it. Probably a one time viewing horror fans.

Some of the most pointless things I have seen I have no clue where the writer or director was even going with this crap.

Fun Fact putting a couple of bimbos making out with each other every few scenes.... don't make an interesting flick...

GIRL'S TRIP!!!!

Ahh another IFC movie with a listed running time of 1 hr 16 minutes I'm sure this one will be heavy on plot and substance.

We begin here with someone or osmething being buried in a hillbilly yard. Then we cut to a bathtub scene and a woman walking around her house in a towel. Who really walks around their house in a towel??? Girl apparently is going on a 'girl's trip', to the Lake. She phones ahead to tell her 2 friends that she's just leaving and is 2 hours out. On the way , she runs out of gas. Behind her, hillbilly truck pulls up and Kid Rock gets out. Kid Rock just happens to have some GAS to give her.

So she actually makes it to the LAKE where her friends have anxiiously awaited her arrival. As they scamper around int heir batheing suits, they soon discover that their milk shakes have brought the boys to the yard. Annoying boy admirer shows up at their 'girls trip'. After he was told already it was a 'girls trip.' What a LOSER.

The girls go to some hillbilly BAR where they are playing some real LIVELY dancing music. Insert Country Line Dancing scene here!!! And then insert a lovely BAR Bathroom Scene!!!! Where a lively hillbilly chick gives girls a BUMP if they KISS FIRST!!!

oH COOL look who shows up?? It's HILLBILLY GAS BOYS FROM THE ROAD WHO SHOW UP AT THE BAR! And they buy the ladies some shots!!! After of course, dosing those shots.

So the boys, they snatch up Girl and take her on a hillbilly truck ride. They tie her up at the hillbilly house. They left her phone there tho and she tries to voice call her friends. Oh but she also told the boys she's a witch and that all their former victims are going to come back to life and come after them.

At the hillbilly ranch, things are getting weird. And Deputy Dweeb, he gets himself over to the bar to look for girl and the bartender gives him a description of the boys who bought those girls those shots. Meanwhile, girl is about to get loose from being tied up, while hillbillies dig another grave for her. Where are her friends during all this??? They seem to have dropped out of existence, her 2 friends.

LOL, when girl escapes, she convinces Hillbilly Kip to off himself, and he stabs hisself with a pitchfork and falls into the grave her dug for girl. But Kid Rock sees this and chases girl into the woods. Kenny Rogers, the hillbilly dad, he hears noises and looks for the boys. He finds Hillbilly Kip dead, Oh there's the girls friends!!! They show up and kill Kenny Rogers Now how did the friends locate this farm????

And girl she gets the drop on Kid Rock and clocks him with a ROCK She finds a wheelbarrow somewhere out in the woods and hauls Kid ROCK back to the hillbilly house! Where they all have shotguns now all 3 girls! Where did those guns come from??? And they chain up Kenny Rogers and Kid Rock to CROSSES that they conjured from thin air . They what?? They set this whole thing up?? The Girls?? LOL what???

Well the girls shoot Kenny Rogers and then... Kid Rock he rushes them, 3 guns aimed at him!!! Oh No....They dropped KID ROCK LIKE A ROCK!!! OH NO HERE COMES DEPUTY DWEEB!!! HE SEES THE GIRLS AND HE RUSHES TO SAVE THEM!!

iT'S NOT OVER!! So, the girls are back home. They check thier email about a missing girl 'GIRLS TRIP!'' ROFL . WOW...JUST WOW!!

-1 FOR the really duh ending. Final score for this one...2/10

This is what happens when you cator to very unrealistic wokeness. There are soooo many cringy, foreshadowed, missteps that are completely predictable. Do not waste you money on this. My wife and I literally turned it into a drinking game half way though the film because it became so riddled with terrible, predictable scenes. Not to mention the copious amounts of just straight up non truths. I wont ruin it but I will say, during the chase scene, he could have caught her whenever he wanted and it is sad the lengths they went though to make it seem like she would actually outrun him.... what a joke of a movie. Zero stars. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

We, as movie viewers, must demand better movies than this.

This is what happens when actual Satanists, who are under-talented and overprivileged, get together to sniff each other's farts: hicks with eyeliner, perfectly made-up hostages and totally unbelievable plot twists. Barf me a river. Yet another drop in an unfathomable bucket of post-streaming unwatchable garbage.

One of the worst movies ever

They did not even bother to finish editing in the sound effects for the guns. It was bad on a story level, (no plot), poorly edited, horrible acting.. If it were a student film they should get expelled.

Wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. This movie was more of a thriller, without a lit if gore, which is fine by me. The storyline flowed well and it was easy to follow. I quite enjoyed it.

Jesus...where do I even start. First of all, everything looks like The Lumineers fan club reunion. The plot is ridiculous, acting is horrible, and everything is so bad that I honestly thought that genre is horror comedy

I can see how this film isn't for everyone but I loved it. Some unexpected turns make this more than a stereotypical slasher flick. If you're looking for blood and gore look elsewhere but if you like a good storyline with interesting characters this could be for you.

My Review Of "Getaway"

"Getaway" blends traditional survival, backwoods horror and occult themes. The story starts innocent enough with almost clinched breadth. A lot of the premise hangs on pulling out those expected tropes and lulling you into believing you have seen this film before, sure with other characters and a different title. However "Getaway" offers a twist within a twist that really works well, and is wickedly delicious.

The characters are strong, female driven leads that look comfortable and entertaining on screen. The cast give up their craft to these women easily, which makes "Getaway" captivating. The pace of the film is a little too slow burn but so much of the story's suspense rests on a even, tense pace to let dark nature of the situation unfold. For the most part it works, I would have liked a bit more amplitude after the twist begins but the film doesn't really suffer.

The horror elements are mostly atmospheric and sound driven moments of chilling interaction between "predator and prey". There is some kill sequences but mostly the nightmare is a series of subjective situations where protagonists face off with the antagonists. Still the twist reveals all, I don't want to spoil the ending. It is a clever one. Indie horror fans will definitely enjoy this one.

Ok , the story was that of a 14 year old trying to scare friends on Halloween night. actors (i use this term loosely) were nothing more in quality than that of a drama class at a high school, in fact, worse. the cameraman must have been filming whilst on a skateboard with a wheel missing. i did however watch this total dross all the way through, in the main so you guys dont have to! everything in its entirety is poor about this piece of film , from wardrobe to dialogue, plot, effects, sound, camera work, oh its awful.

at best this is high school project level cinema.

Absolutely terrible, it was passable for a 3,5 score 'horror' movie until a pathetic attempt at a plot twist completely overshadowed the few good parts and made it completely unwatchable.

I can't believe how bad this movie was. If they've tried to go for "the worst movie ever made", then they've succeeded. Lol Everything from the plot to acting was horrible. I couldn't stop watching it though, because I wanted to see what else absurd is going to happen.

Solid movie with great twists

First off, this is def a thriller not a horror. That said, loved the storyline. Acting was actually really good. Reminds me of something made in the 70s, in a good way. Loved the twist towards the end.

I think the hardest category for a low budget film is horror. With that being said, this film was decent. The downfall was definitely the hillbilly's. They should have casted a little better actors.

If you like The Craft, you'll love this.

Clever tweaking of horror tropes

Tamara Miller (a solid and appealing portrayal by Jaclyn Betham) and her two gal pals go to a lake for a weekend getaway. Things turn sour when Tamara runs afoul of a backwoods cult who plan to sacrifice her.

Director/cowriter Toran Caudell relates the deceptively familiar and enjoyable story at a quick pace, takes time to develop the characters, generates a good deal of tension, and pulls off a real doozy of a surprise twist in which the gals turn the tables on the vile predatory guys. The sound acting from the capable cast helps a lot: Scott Taylor-Compton as the perky Maddy, Landry Allbright as the sassy Brooke, Toran Caudell as the mean Marv, Lane Caudell as the wicked Pa, and Noah Lowdermilk as nerdy wimp Kib. Moreover, this film deserves extra points for the crafty way it plays around with basic audience expectations. A cool little flick.

thrilling movie

Tamara Miller (Jaclyn Betham) has planned a weekend lake getaway with her two best friends. When she gets kidnapped by a backwoods cult, eerie and unexplained occurrences arise. Will she make it out alive or become the treasure of these deranged lunatics?

In researching this title for review purposes I found, at the time of doing so, that there was only one review for it online and it wasn't very complementary. It even went so far as to suggest that the folks behind making this movie lacked faith in their product due to the limited number of posts on the film's Facebook page. This is a thrilling movie.

overall, if you cannot find a good movie., you may want to check it out...story is really easy to understand as well.. This movie is a two star for me, in my own opinions the only reason why it's an ok average movie zombie flick is because not only is an remake from George A Romero dawn of the dead but also has some quotable moments and lines that keep the movie from being disastrous. Reason why is because if you look at some parts of the movie, and you pay attention to characters and their actions and you can honesty say that their parts and actions go unjustified in what their doing in some sequences of the movie; it's like the director or the script is almost certainly forcing itself through situations. Though the time was 2004 that it came out, it's amazing that the movie had some "ok" decent story telling, about how survivors are trying to be amongst one another and learn from each on how they all got there and ended up there. Another detail that might have boosted this movie up there is that when the characters get there at the mall, there is nothing to learn from the characters except obviously the main girl.

Guaranteed murder every 5 -10 minutes. The girl who played the director in the film, Abigail Haggerty, was a revelation! Really fun romp, an homage slasher films. Great performances all around.
