Finally Murdoch! Murdoch! Mehdoch.
mikeholmes-4801211 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I was excited for Murdoch. I'm not going to lie, i forgot a lot about the old Murdoch from Richard Dean Anderson years. I remember him being scared in the face, i think Mac did that. I remember a secret basement that had a fiery pit, and i think he programmed Jack (the cab driver looking guy) to assassinate when he hears the words "from the bottom of my heart i salute you.". But i was real happy cause i remember he was a bad ass. So episode probably knew i was thinking that way and wanted to build me up. So as Macgyver fare, they start with a scene of Mac in peril and he was with a hot woman. I realized instantly he was on one of those dates where they lock you in a room and you have to figure your way out so that made me feel smart and put me in the right mood, well played producers. Mac makes a black light out of stuff instead of finding the black light, realizes he was in a room with a hot chic, kisses her, she jokes she never lost a game like this but kisses him. I was worried he was being aggressive and (put liberal shaming labeling term here) cause its election season and I'm dealing with my "White Male Shame". (long story) So there was this stupid gag that everyone knew mac was on a date. Now they get to business looking for an assassin. SO they go to a party and chase the bad guy, down a flight of stairs and Mac finds a way to electrify the railing so to zap the bad guy, doesn't catch him but came close. I was worried Mac took those wires out and was going to use them as a rope to jump down and i'd stop watching right there. So he finds out that he is the one to be assassinated. SO they lock him up but he gets out. Finds out Murdoch is going to his roommates house, Macs house and ride there. Meanwhile Murdoch meets Macs roommate who i have never really talked about before besides cheap dialogue trying to pick up the IT expert i say looks like Lisa Bonet. He kinda looks like Chris ROck so Chris Rock thinks Murdoch is what he says, Macs coworker but then he puts black gloves on and it sketches out Chris Rock. No Chris Tucker, is that the guy from "Friday" he seems more like him. Anyhow, Chris realizes that he seems shady, calls Mac from a landline, then Murdoch stops him, then tells him who Mac Is but mac shows up, stuff happens, wine bottle launcher works after Jack runs out of bullets (which he announces real loud after yelling "mac I'm running out of ammo, i have half a magazine left,,,, a few bullets, MAC IM OUT OF BULLETS" and Murdoch is probably like "what i couldn't hear you ten feet away shooting at you". but thank God for Wine bottle launchers. So Chris the roommate is upset Mac lied to him. Lisa Bonet goes and comforts him. (I expected her to just give him all her digits) and hes cool with her. he tells her she is smoking , he was right. she had straight hair for the first time and it was hot. Very thick, when she has her hair up, and all that, it looks heavy, her hair must weigh like 15 pounds but it looks so good. So all this cliché stuff is happening and then Chris Rock/Turner has to tell a sketch artist what Murdoch looks like, grabs the pen and draws a perfect, able to be read by computer sketch in 4 seconds and they know who he is. they find his car, everyone but Mac goes there, and like most of the series, are careless, as in "something happened, we didn't catch him but I'm sure hes gone" and they inspect the car til they get a phone call and have machine rifles controlled by Murdoch pointed at them. Stuff happens, Mac gives himself up but doestn , shots are fired, shots miss. blah blah blah. Murdoch is in jail i guess, Macs ex finds him , tells him it wasn't her that hired him, and keep the key it will be useful soon (to keep ratings i guess)

Target: MacGyver
tenshi_ippikiookami16 April 2017
This time MacGyver and Co. are not going in search of danger... because danger is hunting them. Someone has paid a world famous assassin to off him. Will the team be able to stop this mysterious figure before it gets to Angus?

The plot offers a little bit of variety, and the idea would make for some interesting moments... but half the episode is lost with really-not-very-interesting Bozer and the pace is so frantic that it is impossible to enjoy one of the raison d'etre of MacGyver: his inventions. It all goes so: partitioned screen, cut, cut, cut, that it is lost what MacGyver is trying to do, and more important, why it is supposed to be awesome.

The easy charm and banter that the characters have developed in the episodes so far is what saves another weak episode (not that the acting improves over bland level).
