I don't know why some people rating it so high? The movie is not scary at all and the ending is very boring.

It's not good, but not bad, just meh...
The story mixes several spices, like evil spirit/personality popping randomly up, dead-on-separation Siamese twin, dumb sex tourist, exotic places (with nice photography), mumbo-jumbo in non-English language (that probably means something like "pass me the salt, please" to people that know that language) and some female nude shots, to come up with a half baked mess.
The story is about a woman that claims to have some kind of disease that causes epilepsy, but what we see is a double personality, one an insecure woman, looking for a cure, another, a dangerous sex freak. The woman seduces a tourist, mainly with sex. She then convinces him to help her look for a witchdoctor, just because she had tried everything else already. They drive to an isolated place and, there, the woman is tied and a knife is given to the man. The witchdoctor tells him to wait for the evil spirit to appear and, when it reveals its name, he should sacrifice a goat, which was leashed nearby, trapping the spirit and killing it.
0k, till this point, I thought the ending would be the "he killed the wrong spirit" kind of cliché, but it wasn't. It was the "he's the escape-goat" kind of ending cliché (ref. "The Wicker Man", 1973), as the woman lures the man closer, knocks him off, then has him sacrificed. While she's been driven away, she smiles evilly.
But, and it's a big "but", the ending is not closing. During the film, the man is almost killed by a random psycho, and, for a moment, I thought it would be a "tourist trap" kind of cliché (again, "The Wicker Man", 1973, and also "Hostel", 2005), but he is saved by the said evil spirit, kind of making me believe that maybe the evil spirit was not so evil (or, maybe, it was not the evil spirit that had died during the twin separation, but the good one, who would be trying to stop the evilness).
Anyway, in a couple of scenes, when the good/evil gear is shifted, a neck bone cracking can be clearly heard. When the man is dying, bleeding from a gutted belly, his eyes seem darker and his neck cracks... Did he get possessed by an evil spirit (the same, or another, or whatever)? Or did that mean that the evil spirit was really not that bad, "just ambitious", and that the good spirit was not so good, after all. Or some other dumb theory that doesn't really tie all loose ends?
I'm fine with some loose ends, but they should at least point in some direction(s). This is just a big mess. Watchable, but forgettable.

Hahah this movie is nothing short of already seen a zillion times. Its boring, bad acting and bad everything showered by fake reviews and fake ratings....
Don't waste your time on this one, horror movies are stuck in a root, zombie movies possession movies and this.

Could have been a decent movie but the ending and lack of story ruined it completely. It felt like there is at least 15 minutes missing from the movie. Everyone in the àudience just started to laugh in the end. That cannot be a good sign for a horror movie. Overall it feels like this movie was directed by amateurs, i cannot recommend anyone to spend money on this.

This was just a big mess. I don't understand all high reviews other than to attribute them to people involved with the film. There were some interesting aspects, but it became bogged down in chaos and poor editing. In the end, a frustrating waste of time sifting thru it.

This movie is just a complete mess boring, incomplete and just plain messy. Everything about it is rubbish beware of fake high reviews and don't waste your time on this movie like I did

Unlikeable characters. Meandering plot line. Don't waste your time. I don't know where the 7.2 rating came from, this movie is a trial to sit through. I kept telling myself that it was just about to kick in, and it only got worse.

Ok at least they tried...it's a waste of time though. Very disappointed while watching it. Remember they produced the movie "Monsters" with an utterly low budget. So it could be done. Not this time though. Bad acting, bad screenplay, unbelievable and kind of far-fetched scenario. Same horror story all over again, beautiful troubled young girl (with questionable eyebrow plucking) finds a naive tourist to get saved by.

This B-movie starts off well enough with a bit of a mystery, but fairly soon its bee-movieness starts becoming too obvious hence too much of a hindrance. Weird little unexplained events pile up, soon leaving the viewer with the distinct feeling that half this stuff won't be satisfactorily explained later on.
Half was optimistic though.
And that's exactly what happens. The not-so-grand finale makes little sense, comes off as very far-fetched and fails to explain many loose plot-holes in a coherent and logical way. Or in any way.
Aside from the main protagonists, the cast is mostly borderline amateur consisting of thespians who either overact (the highly-strung pimp who requires hippo-portioned sedatives) or underact (the Asian characters - who look bored). The camera work, special effects and editing aren't much better either.
Any inconsistencies in the way the female lead was played shouldn't be blamed on the actress, but squarely on the director... who can and should try to pin the blame squarely on the screenwriter. Unless they are one and the same person.

This is a really small indie movie, but one worth your time if you like smaller films.
Guys in the woods dealing with a world before science. Always a fun movie. Reminded me a little of A Field In England with more of a horror twist.
Quiet. Methodical. And gorgeous to look at. The location is definitely a character in this film.

A traveler's worst nightmare

In the movie Ben falls in love with Amber, another American traveler he meets in Cambodia. Trouble seems to follow Amber though. Ben sticks with Amber through her troubles because he has a big heart and believes in her.
The movie manages to keep changing tone. I liked this because it managed to surprise me multiple times. In the beginning I thought it was going to be about local criminals. Then it seemed to be a familiar possession story but the ending was a shocker. There was never a 'good' Amber. Amber was in cahoots with locals to trick Ben into doing a ritual so his body can be possessed by the spirit of Amber's sister.
A very chilling ending. It played on fear on multiple levels. That of travelers being vulnerable in a foreign country with locals teaming up on you. And it was chilling because Ben was a guy who went above and beyond for Amber, who turned out to be completely ruthless.
Overall a very creative horror movie.

I tried to think of anything redeeming to come up with to be even remotely balanced, but I couldn't. The acting is laughably bad delivering dialogue that is even worse. I thought to myself "hey its only 80 minutes, even if it's bad it'll be over quick". That 80 minutes just would not end.

While spending vacation in Cambodia with his two older brothers, Ben Trepanier (Kelly Blatz) flirts with the sexy Amber Kelly (Jenny Boyd) and they date. He has a crush on Amber and soon he learns that she is epileptic. Later he finds that Amber is indeed possessed by an evil entity and decides to help her to seek the cure using the support of the notorious witch doctor De Rais (Philip Philmar).
"Hex" is a highly entertaining horror movie, with a conclusion that recalls "Spellbinder (1988)". The first attraction is the beauty and the smile of the sexy Jenny Boyd. The exotic locations in Cambodia is another great attraction. The final plot point is unexpected and surprises the viewers. My vote is five.

Good acting, good camera use, nice story, but poorly executed. The plot could have been developed far more, because it is really interesting, and the script just fell short. Also crappy ending. Could have been such spectacular movie! But no. At least has good acting and photography.

I watched it as it had a score of 8.0 on IMDB (by whom i am very unsure), the score is rapidly declining I think as those suckered into watching it realise what a horrible mistake they have made. Nothing stands out to reflect on aside from the ending, which was alright, not so much a twist but the only part of the film that felt like it had some thought put into it, the fact that the film did end was also a bonus and a relief.
Worst movie i have seen so far!
