The good old days are kind of back
natihorny10 December 2016
This episode felt like it came from one of the regular Top Gear archive.

It felt good to see a "TGT" episode that didn't feel too scripted as all 3 presenters came off much more natural than in the previous episodes; That being said, it wasn't a great episode either, comparing it with the better ones from their previous show "Top Gear", but compared to the other episodes from "TGT" this might have been my favorite so far closely rivalling the first episode in the installment.

What I liked:

+ Felt natural + I could laugh alongside the genuine laughs of the presenters + There was a "creative" challenge + It felt more like a normal British "Top Gear"

What I didn't like:

  • Not enough was going on, the challenge wasn't very interesting - The funny bits of the challenge, yet funny, were pretty staged even though the presenters managed to pull off a pretty natural appeal to the entire challenge. - The famous actor bit is overused, they should really get someone to actually survive and do a bit with the 3 presenters... even though I fear that if a celebrity manages to survive and do a talk with the presenter, the talk will probably mainly focus on the fact that the celebrity is the first to survive and come on "stage". - Again in that same dull town - Challenge was in probably one of the most boring places on earth

Overall, this episode felt like the best one so far but they really have to step up their game, I think everyone is expecting "Top Gear Specials"- like episodes as it is called "The Grand Tour", is from Amazon and takes place over the entire world. So far though it has been rather disappointing.

Most top gear episode yet!

Warning: Spoilers
For the last couple of weeks, i have felt that the grand tour felt so forced and was quite underwhelming, making me think that it will never reach the Clarkson-era of top gear. Well I was wrong! This is, in my opinion, the best episode of the grand tour yet, giving me such a nostalgic feeling of the Clarkson-era top gear. This is what they should be doing with the show; the ridiculous challenges and trips. The trio were brilliantly hilarious. Overall the episode was akin to the glory days of Top Gear and is what they should be doing every week in Grand Tour.

BTW the Chris Evans jab was perfection

A fantastic episode which I really enjoyed.

Warning: Spoilers
At the 4th episode The Grand Tour begins to mature. At the start of the episode I like the attack of seagull to the drone and how the birds behaves to the camera. For a second time the series is at Whitby. It is a good decision to stick in England. After all this TV show is full of Britishness. I wonder why Clarkson forget to refer that Whitby is famous for Dracula. Because Bram Stoker's novel Dracula was partly set in Whitby. The decor of the show is very spartan. You can't realize that it is relevant to a car show. Except from some cheap posters hidden behind the standing crowd. The Whitby review that Clarkson reads isn't the official of TripAdvisor but one of the many reviewers. The show misunderstood Volkswagen Beetle for a Porsche but both were designed by the same man and they look similar. The first is a family convenient car the second a super car. The cinematography of both Porsche and BMW cars is great. The example of BMW speed hump reminds me that of Lamborghini with its parking problems. Simply super cars aren't made to pass speed humps or to park easily. The choice of an overweight American race driver isn't a clever one. Maybe the American Amazon wanted a local race driver, but my opinion is that his jokes aren't good at all. For example that of BMW, British Motor Works. What a boring old fashion electronic lab board. It holds only ten time laps. One of the many restrictions that The Grand Tour can't overcome. Also what's the point of Conversation Street when most of the show is a conversation around a table. The new traffic lights of London are very funny. All three presenters aren't know for their environmental behavior. So the environmental car race in Wales didn't ensure the sustainable future of our planet. I love the Clarkson quote "hedgehogs have bones, it could be my door mirror. The celebrity brain crash is a futile attempt to avoid problems with BBC lawyers and I wonder why they still repeating it. It is so boring. They could invite a celebrity and have a normal talk about cars. During the show Clarkson is joking about immigrants entering UK by hiding inside trucks. Clarkson is known for his overzealous British patriotism. Some people did the mistake to ask him to be against Brexit. The dead bat's sonar was used by Clarkson as a parking sensor. What an unbelievable moment of an ingenuity. The sustainable car challenge was a hilarious success and brings back the glorious days of the trio. For another time the trio makes reality the dream of every child.

Stupid and idiotic...

I love cars, I like car tests... serious car tests. This episode was idiotic and stupid, nothing else than rubbish. I gave 2 because I love cars, giving 10 it means people like idiots, not cars
