The best episode of a Marvel show and one of the best (I've seen) of any show
maxglen19 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Wow. I am Speechless. Watching this episode I didn't expect much since I'd watched all the episodes prior and although they were pretty good I didn't think it was quite on the level of Daredevil which I love, but this episode man (or woman depending who's reading XD) it was original. It was action packed. Their were revelations for every character and it had one of the most emotional scenes in recent memory. I feel like Lewis is what Zemo from Civil War should have been. He's so well acted (especially in this episode) and the down to earth setting really helps sell this tragic character. Not much else I can say except watch this show! Even if it's for the sole purpose of seeing this episode. 9.8/10

Maybe the best episode

Possibly the best episode of the series. A great hotel-set confrontation with the bomber and madman in the show. I love the early RASHOMON-style variants of the truth while the second half builds to great action and sustained spectacle. This is what the show should be like!

Very good episode. Have to admit, was hoping he would have shot the gun grabbing senator. Especially after using the reporter as a shield before escaping. But hey, he was important, right?

As for some of the posts here, let me clear the reporter having a gun up. She went for her purse and then realized she had given it up. She was going to defend herself-awesome.

When Frank showed up, he threw a gun to the reporter. That's how she got a gun. It wasn't bad writing. Defending her was part of his plan.

The series has me completely hooked, and I'm happy about that..

Frank Castle: He's tough; he's a total warrior, a fierce killer seeking revenge on those who done him wrong, killed his family, etc. This episode, entitled "Virtue of the Vicious" showcases Frank at his absolute best. Needless to say, I'm completely hooked watching the series The Punisher, once again a show that has pretty much everything I'm looking for in a series of its style / genre. The amount of shots, brutality, action, performances, and its build ups and plot is fantastic, in regards to this episode alone. I think this is my favourite episode I have watched thus far. This episode has a lot going on between Frank, Bill, the Bomber, Dinah, Lewis, and Karen, those in which it revolves around, especially the first four characters, I feel. I truly love this series, in spite of the fact it ended I'm glad we got this glimpse for now into a Punisher show that could (should) be expanded upon in the foreseeable future. The show is terrific; in terms of how well it is acted, executed, and the amount of detail put into the episodes. This is a 10/10 episode for me. Fave quote from this one: Frank saying "if you're gonna shoot me, do it" , "otherwise I'm gonna keep walking down", and my favourite moments were Frank taking out those officers, and using the railing to slide downstairs, Frank saying t... You know what actually? The last 15-20 minutes as a whole was probably the highlight for me, in its entirety it's 15/20 minutes of tense action and thrills. I was almost nervous and worked up, it got me. As gripping as it is inexplicably gruesome, this is a top-tier near-hour of viewing.

Virtue of the Vicious

And this is the episode we have been waiting for. All of the stories coming to a head and yet we still have three more action-packed episodes remaining. This was off the walls with the shooting, the intensity and one of the most ridiculous escapes from Frank that I burst out laughing. When he used the firehose to jump down the stairs it was just too much.

Great TV here.

Very good from Marvel but...

Warning: Spoilers
...it seems that it is a lift-off from Vantage Point (2008)! Marvel knows that the teens may haven't seem this movie, so it won't be noticed. The scene where we see Madani and Russo in the lobby after the explosion feels forced, and finally Madani realizing that Russo killed Stein. By the end, We all now what is going to happen to Louis! 7.5/10

Good but potential ruin
nicofreezer22 August 2021
For a season finale it would have been great but when you have 3 épisodes left, to reveal all the mystery alm thé Secrets about characters in one scene is really really dissapointed... The girl cop and the Bad Guy secret, the Bad Guy and Frank both reveal in one scene what a waste of possible future great scene. So yes the épisode is entertaining , i love the different time period I give it 8.5/10. I give 9/10 because im in a good mood and also the death of a annoying character is good.

Warning: Spoilers
The first 53% of this episode is sheer brilliance. As you may recall, in the beginning of this series the writers had a fetish concerning flashbacks to the point where many reviewers criticized the overuse of that technique.

In Episode 10, the use of flashbacks works phenomenally. For the first 26 minutes the audience witnessed a REAL Punisher episode. And it was great fun.

But what followed was abject stupidity.

First there's the scene in the hotel lobby where Madani is talking to Russo. And deep inside she KNOWS he's Stein's killer. What did she expect? That Russo was just going to confess? To believe that scene, you have to believe Madani is one of the dumbest female cops on the planet. Whatever happened to "feminine intuition"? There's NONE in that scene.

And how about this scene . . . Lewis is about to blow himself up in the cooler. So what does Frank do? He stands right next to the door. WHY? So he can feel the warmth of the explosion? AND THEN . . . Gee . . . He managed to run away just in time as the door was exploding. REALLY?

It's like the writers couldn't help themselves. The story was going SO well. They needed to find a way to ruin it.

The first 26 minutes proved the writers are capable of creating a rousing Punisher story that's thrilling to watch. The last half of the story proved the writers are addicted to portraying people as INCREDIBLY stupid. Episode 10 was a real Punisher episode . . . ALMOST.

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyng watching this serie but this episode was just bad for my eyes, and i whant just to delete what i saw... the thing that i saw is that when Russo meet Dumont by the elevator he said that she will have the gun when she will exit and when Curtis entered exploded everything she went for the purse for the gun she dind had but out of nowhere she had'it when she dissarmed the triger later and blow Curtis foot wooow so how the gun apeared in her purse? maybe i'm wrong and i hope that i'm wrong.

That's why im gaving this episode this note but still could give less for a big mistake there.

Misses the mark

Warning: Spoilers
The story of this show and this episode in particular is very gripping and action-packed. This episode, however, jumped back and forth along the time line in very confusing ways. Its not apparent that the first flashback of the interview explosion was just a false recollection. Madani's flashback was awkward and random - you interrupt the action to show her getting a badge, really? The scene where we see Madani and Russo in the lobby after the explosion feels poorly edited. Because I love the story, I'm going to give this episode a pass. If this was the first episode I saw, I might not continue. There is plenty of overlap and complexity to the plot - this is why its captivating - but its OK to cut from one scene to another if they're all happening at the same time. The exposition suffers from the time jumps but luckily all the actors are fantastic.

giving the run around
Calicodreamin22 March 2021
Climactic episode of the punisher, revealing secrets and bringing a heartbreaking end to one of the main storylines. Not sure I liked the way the timeline was dealt with, interesting to piece it together, but it wasn't very clean.

Wait what?

She didn't have a gun (it was stated that they took the gun away from her before she interviewed the Senator) and then one appeared magically in her purse later in the episode?? Very poor writing that ruins a really good episode.
