What a mom! She would not let anything slide, at all. Guy is dying, she has no mercy, she is fiercely out to keep her son on track.

As an actor, Grace Glowicki is just excellent, very vivid, intense. She is a force of nature.

The poor bastard bleeding out just couldn't believe it.

This short was really all about her, her practicality, her intensity. It rather stood out amongst the standard airline fare it was competing with (I saw it while flying Air Canada).

Grace has this vitality that makes me curious about her other works. I will be following up.

a pragmatic mother

After its end, you can admire the cold realism of this short film about a mother, her son, a man near death in grass and a moral lesson easy to define being out of empathy or mercy or compassion or human solidarity.

In fact, a lesson about manner to see the other as object, in this case, as didactic material.

And exactly the realism makes this film just bizarre and easy to understand the message. Because, for some reasons, you can see it as a sort of parable. A mother preocupped for the education of her child and her job in absurd, maybe too efficient manner. All precise, simple and full of a kind of soul coldness , working as warning about social relations today.
