An interesting and critical look at how social media can impact our lives. Social Media Influencers, what are they? Why do we give them so much hype and then gleefully bring them down the very next moment?

I really enjoyed the editing technique which switched between social media and cinematic format.

Its a film about how our social interaction has beome since the introduction of the internet, and socalled social media channels as laptops smartphones etc, that ca make you a royalty for a day, that may continue for a while,or spank you like a bat out of hell, if trotting the salad or becoming inviraloid.

its the troublesome race for fame in the world of personal blogging that is the issue, and for better or for worse it tells a good story after all. it shows so very well how small part of the world you can put in between the small screen of a cell phone or laptop camera, and i myself hate the kind of self dilligent behaviour of childish nature that scream upon us wherever you try to search for some serious stuff. lets say a search on youtube, or google youll get 3 serious hits out of ten, the 7 others are merely some introvert and unsolid blogger trying to hit the fan of fame, of stupid and selfconstructed advice, or kiinda product marketing oneself to viral fame..

most of all the make up deparment should have some acclamation to their facial shift made on the main character, the''fat old,ugly ....'' as they call her, or as on my standard of measurements says a smashing beautiful brunette, so there we go again, there are billions of different tastes and meanings, and if you dare to be reflecting yourself on social media, have a thought or two first, and view this movie, bec ause it shows heaven and hell in 80 minutes.

this is not a blockbuster, but could on social media channels become viral due to its contents, its a fair and square take on all those snorting bologne from the smartphones,making them unconsentrated at work or elsewhere, if not to say a hazard for us and themselves,as they bike or trike with babies and small children in the babyseat of the bike or car or carriage, its unhealthy the grumpy old man thinks, and 7 stars to them who dares to say their true meaning about virality or virility or virtuality or vatsoever.

Satire...or Is It!

A really modern innovative approach initiates the audience into the angst of sudden internet fame. The premise is timely and is 100% believable in terms of the pitfalls of intense online attention, and the corruption of self that comes from corporate branding one's life.

Casey Killoran is wonderful in the lead role as Marsha Day, always engaging, vulnerable at times but typically rough around the edges despite the thick veneer of personality coated on her like makeup by her brand managers. The supporting cast is terrific, there are some really memorable performances all around, impressive considering the volume of actors needed to tell a story that needs lots of eyeballs and personalities layered on top.

This movie is funny, serious, whimsical and dystopian all at the same time, which is quite hard to pull off.

Clever and Timely!

Viral Beauty is a scathing look at the rise of social media and its influence on our culture. The main character starts the film as delusional, but in a very authentic way that is reflective of society. The level of delusion actually helps the main character achieve the level of entitlement that no one should feel they have a right to. It's a very clever feedback loop that the filmmaker employs, and the fact that it feels like it could actually happen makes it brilliant. I do not understand the 1 star reviews, especially from those who didn't even make it out of act 1. It's the type of film that should be made.

Funny movie

This film was funny. So natural and believable In today's society that we are forced to live in. People are mean and disgusting and many are always looking for attention. This film was well made and really shows the disgust of humankind nowadays and what is expected by many that are losers or just rotten people. But yeah it is funny...

Timely funny indie gem satire

Title sounds familiar? That's because all those scores of shills (or just a couple of dedicated ones) repeat these phrases in their titles ad nauseam. In reality, not so delicate flower of a movie, as a matter of fact, quite literal iteration of the social media milieu. Decent viewing if you can stand farcical delivery and linear story development. In today's indie scene you could fare much worse. Two stars only, because I detest shilling... (hmmm, Internet shilling, perhaps one of the indie authors will tackle that issue in the future, who knows...)

This movie will surprise you

This movie will surprise you. I went to a festival in New York recently with a friend of a friend who knows the director of this film, and I was actually really surprised at how much I liked it. I was surprised mainly because it was super late, like 10:40 screening or something, and I was planning on sleeping because I was just there to support my friend. But then once it started it has a way of just literally consuming you into its world. There are a lot of cuts and screens and fast action and comedy and the main actress Casey Killoran is hilarious and natural and really charismatic on screen. And then the romance between the main girl and the guy had so many interesting nuances it literally felt like I was watching an addictive reality TV show. The characters were sharp, funny, and there's a scene where the main girl does something that was so crazy I can't even go into it here, but it was amazing to watch.

Seriously, I usually don't like comedies, but this one surprised me at how good indie filmmaking can be.

Dark comedy slaps us in our digital face...ouchie...

This is a type of farce and morality tale of the Cinderella story gone digital follower mania cray cray. And commerce through the taste makers through the freakish impersonal new world we live in. It was well directed and acted. It is a dark comedy that is a ballsy wake up call to all of us. Let's go camping and unplug right now!!!! (needless to say it hit me where it was intended to and I feel the need to get all woke).

This was a very 'In' topic and subject matter movie for these days. It looks at social media and the influences and effects it has on your life. Very appropriate for this era we live in. I thought it was a good movie and gave you something to think about. After all, what is all this social media craze doing to our souls. I loved that they touched on this subject as I think its very controversial.

A great movie that captures the manufactured nature of social media and addresses current social issues of our generation. It's a reflection of everyone's secret cyber-identity, portraying the good and the bad. Casey's character world in search of true connections vanishes in this deeply emotional and heartbreaking but beautiful story. Wonderful cinematography, and a great casting are just the perfect formula for this indie gem.

As much as I dislike social media, I wanted to watch this to try to get a better understanding of its affects on people. Viral Beauty did not disappoint as it really goes deep into the psyches of people who crave online acceptance and fame. Really well done and though provoking.

Great comedy for a Friday night

Saw this in NY with my boyfriend and we both loved it. Great movie date. The leads were all very strong, in particular the main girl played by Casey Killoran, who manages to play an entitled millennial with a lot of charisma and charm, which is hard to do and not even something I think Lena Dunham pulled off very well. Also thought that the real life Youtubers were hilarious and Perez was funny. This film made my night and I had a lengthy discussion with my boyfriend afterwards, so it gets you talking.

I really liked this funny and insightful indie film. It is so current to our social environment and the effect it has on people. Marsha Day posts an unabashed video online outlining her ideal man to date. She is bashed, made fun of and supported as well by her defenders. It becomes a real online debate and is picked up by a social media personality and goes viral. Along with it comes the hard road to stardom overnight for poor Marsha. You will pitty her, laugh with her and root for her throughout this hilarious romp that is beautifully executed and wonderfully acted from every part. One of the best indie films I have seen in awhile. Kuddos to entire cast and crew!

Viral Beauty is a smart, funny, and poignant look at our culture and all of its social media obsession. Approaching gender, body size and class through this satiric lens is a great idea- you don't feel like you're being preached to, but you do feel entertained and then provoked. This is what a great indie film should be.

Great Romantic Comedy That Puts Social Media On Blast!

Loved this satirical take on social media, its influencers, and the effects it has on society. The lead, Casey Killoran, played a great part filled with humor and drama. It definitely felt like a romantic comedy, mixed with a sprinkle of "tear-jerker."

The filmmaking was outstanding. Clean, crisp shots, great staging and production design as well. Major kudos to the people behind the scenes! Three thumbs up!

This is a wonderful look at what seems to be important in today's society. The cast is excellent, and the story telling is superb. It was sometimes difficult to watch, but the message is clear. I really enjoyed this film on many levels. Everyone who is on social media should watch this.
