'Madhura Naranga' as sweet as Orange ...........
sreeram-srg27 November 2015
Madhura Naranga(Orange) is one of the best film of 2015 and one of the best film of Kunjacko Boban"s career. The film based on a true story, director Sugeeth succeeded in making a true story in a very engaging way.The movie starts with a slow pace and picks up the momentum after 10 minutes. The screenplay of Noushad Koya is top- notch with right mix of romance, comedy and some dramatic elements.Performance wise Kunjacko Boban is excellent as Jeevan,Parvathy Ratheesh looks cute and handled the role of Thamara with maximum effort,Biju Menon once again won the heart of audience by his comedy numbers,Rest of the cast like Neeraj Madhav,Aparna Nair are truly convincing. The background music&songs are excellent and it is the main plus point of the film, the song "Kankalil",Oru Naal",and "Vazhvom Thazvom" are excellent. The cinematography is excellent. The film is entertaining with controlled real-life natural jokes and well handled drama sequences. The good performances and excellent background score adds extra plus points to the film. The film is free from negatives in my view.Totally Madhura Naranga is an entertaining film for sure.Worth a watch!!!!

Cliche but good story. Weak screenplay.

Madhura Naranga falls flat due to jokes which are not really funny and the unnecessary drag. The visuals doesn't have any quality to it. The indoor scenes were poorly lit. The lighting made it look so artificial.

We've seen this story several times before. Some bachelors tries to protect a woman who's in some sort of dangerous situation. I think the writer used to live in UAE. The scenes with the new Malayali, Puttum Kadala etc felt so forced.

If either the screen writer or the editor did their job right, this could've been a better movie.

Bad and moldy wine that I did not even want to finish .....

Warning: Spoilers
Dear Sugeeth,

you already made a couple of films starring the Kunchacko-Biju Menon duo before Madhura Naranga. I am so glad I did not watch those. Madhura Naranga has the same story of at least a hundred other Malayalam films made before it.

Three working class Malayali males in a Gulf nation.

Their life together.

The same trite jokes.

The same old situations.

A woman arrives. She is a Sri Lankan (atleast that is a novelty).

Three men cooped up together with this Sri Lankan woman.

Balachandra Menon already made a film like this called Ammayane Sathyam.

And like I said earlier, there are hundreds of films about goofy working class Malayali youth living together.

Kunjacko Boban must be one of the dullest actors in the history of Malayalam cinema. He should have become a plantation owner or liquor baron or candidate for the Congress Party. He would have been a worthy competitor for Hybee Eden.

Biju Menon - I wish there was some way that we could retire him. And Kunjacko as well.

But it is not going to happen. They are going to act in another fifty films together.

Anyway, I did not watch more than an hour of this film. Like Chirakodinja Kinavukal, Haram etc. Life is too short for bad movies.

Best Regards, Pimpin.

A WONDERFUL FILM which tears you up.

I absolutely LOVED it. The emotions portrayed by the actors were just amazing! To be honest, when i switched on the TV, i sat down to watch the film thinking it was a Tamil (since i can understand Tamil). But the story line was so good i couldn't get off my seat! Really heart-touching!! This will be my most favourite Mallu film hereafter.
