Episode 5

Warning: Spoilers
The emotions from Matt at the end about his father felt both forced and predictable, and we could all see the ashes blowing in his face coming from a mile away, but the bulk of this episode was among the best shtick and comedy this show has given us. From the shouting on the phone, to the quick jabs from Bev, this was a master class in comedy writing and yet another enjoyable Season 5 episode of this series.

Classic Scene

Caroline Aaron gives a classic comedic performance in this episode of Episodes. It should be seen by everyone as a lesson on great comedic writing, timing and delivery. All in all, one of the best as personalities are revealed and more of the curious internal workings of Hollywood are revealed.

An episode that shows you how without scruples Hollywood producers are. Merc swears to Carol on his children's lives that he is not engaged to Morning. He is very convincing but Carol make sure she got her facts first from Morning. Carol is also mad at Beverly for keeping the news about Merc's misdeeds to herself for a week.

Following on from actor Alex Rocco's death. Matt's dad is killed off in the show leading to a tense standoff with his dad's girlfriend and his mother over his dad's ashes.

Somehow the show manages to wrest humour out of Beverly's English pronunciation of words such as Uber and Matt's mom's deafness.

At least out of this sad situation for Matt, an idea for a new show emerges unless Netflix have got their first.

Ruining a great show

The first three seasons were solid. The last two showed a remarkable fall from Grace. But this episode marks the nadir of the series so far (please don't let the last two be even worse).
