Loser, big time.

When you can't even get blood to look like blood in a horror, you should step aside and get a new job. It's not scary or even interesting. Blood used is ORANGE, personally my blood is RED. This film is garbage.

it annoys me ...

Abit that every kind of deformations or wound to a human face are always called a clown face...because i couldnt find a clown at all, rather a hypergrafted serial killer on endorphinic high by the pain of facial skin slicing, its really stupid .

but the story is really a 2 story tail, though its jumping back and forth in the story telling and all the reflecting comes when a year has past and after that no more timeline. the production are like summer and winter. the outdoor scenes are shot in a good filmo style, and the indoors are unfortunately to theatratical and studiofelt, with racks of lights, and in the murderers den bloody read light. its the hd quality that kills the joy of watching. the sound quality could ve been refurbiushed a little, weak some places.

the acting are not so bad, also the blood and gore factor says al, but the score are cheap and unsupsidized, and the small cast and crew and producers are reflected in the pubclub settings, with liveband and 2 couples on the floor.

its a film that gets thrown back in the ''lookalike'' basket, its generic and cliched, with or without a clown. the grumpy old man who are in extreme agony when recommending it just a little bit

The Idea wasn't that bad

A cheaply made UK horror movie where a guy in a clown mask goes on a killing spree. The plot was okay if it had been in the hands of a good scriptwriter, the acting was below par, and the music was awful, but there were a couple of pretty good scenes, and the ending surprised me. Not as bad as I was expecting

Just terrible!
mandcsharma19 August 2020
This is just a waste of time and money. Don't bother, one of the worst acted/scripted/directed movies in recent history. Looks like it was made by a 12yr old with their family as crew and supporting actors on a few iPhones.

In case you see the 10/10 review and think that it's possible that maybe someone actually liked this trash... click on the user names and you will see that the 10/10 is new and only has reviewed Clownface. The other reviews have reviewed MULTIPLE movies and did not create an account just to give a fake review because of a vested interest.

Disinteresting!
jbhomefries21 August 2020
I lost interest after about 10 minutes in this poorly acted and directed movie which is a so called horror flick, but saw it through to the end as I do with all films. It's not quite Haloween is it? Even though that's the sort of murderer they had in mind. Please don't waste your time watching this!

Barely worthwhile or watchable effort
kannibalcorpsegrinder25 June 2021
One year after her roommate's disappearance, a woman trying to get on with her life comes across a stranger investigating a series of murders around town who claims a deadly clown as the culprit instead which leads her to find the serial killer is real and must save her friends from his rampage.

This is a highly underwhelming and barely watchable genre effort. Among the main problems here is the outright wasting of time that makes this one go far longer than necessary. The antics between the roommates and her boyfriend before the murders goes on forever before that happens, the scenes of him out meeting locals in the woods for his study, or the absolutely inane storyline reacquainting with the former friends at the nightclub only to realize it's all a flashback just eat up so much time throughout here. That all of these scenes cause all of the slashings to be sporadic and confined to later makes this sluggish to get started. Likewise, there are also several issues with the underwhelming story that makes for a seemingly chaotic time. Not giving a reason for who anyone is or their connection to anyone else here just makes it next to impossible to figure out what's going on, as the stranger investigating everything has no motivation for doing so and the useless reacquainted friend just muddle up the storyline. The lives of the residents around the village, the non-reveals about the killer or just spending so much time waiting until everything is out and accepted cause this to feel scattershot and completely random. The other real issue here is the troublesome and non-threatening killer on display. He's no on-screen often enough to really get a feel for what he's capable of, and when he is the utterly cheap mask and out-of-shape beer-belly makes for a far-from-imposing figure. Add onto that the nonsensical ploy about kidnapping the roommate and holding her captive rather than killing her the second he could which makes for a truly lame subplot and removes any sense of fear out of the killer with this behavior. The end result is a laughably inept main villain and is the biggest reason holding this down along with the other factors. About the only thing that otherwise works here is the final half of this one where it features some enjoyable elements for once. The stalking scenes at the party aren't bad and feature some decent enough kills, especially with the rampage where he slaughters the fleeing teens although it is almost undone by one of the stupidest writing choices possible to carry on. Thankfully, the series of cat-and-mouse stalking in the underground tunnels gets this one back into the good graces as this packs a few solid surprises, decent suspense, and some energy to boot. It's just too little too late to save it.

Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

Sad clown
Stanlee10729 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This is a low budget British looking film. It is not scary nor suspenseful at all. The acting is bad and so one by dimensional that you cannot be bothered to care about any of the characters. It is predictable and plain boring from start to finish.

Clownface (2019)
a_baron27 January 2021
If you've seen "Friday 13th" or anything similar, you've seen this film, ie a physically formidable individual who materialises out of thin air to murder people indiscriminately. Such films generally lack all but the most rudimentary of plots, ie ie a physically formidable individual who materialises out of thin air to murder people indiscriminately.

This one does have a plot of sorts, the previously unsolved murder of a man in gruesome circumstances and the disappearance of his better half, who is presumed murdered. A dude turns up a year or so after the murder to investigate, and he has a strange tale to tell, namely he came face to face with the killer in gruesome circumstances when he was a young boy. The one person he tells doesn't believe him, until she discovers Google.

Suddenly, there are more murders, many of them, and a showdown. That's as good as it gets. Good?

Classic slasher with twist
nicolawedgbury20 August 2020
I'm a huge fan of indie/bmovie/lower production value movies so every week without fail I catch up on new and upcoming movies, clownface was this weeks watch. What can I say this movie fed into my love of classic slashers with a twist right at the end. Is it brand new, never been done before? No. But it is as brilliant and well produced as any other indie horror I have seen with better effects then some block buster titles!!. The part where clownflace is peeling a victims face off!?! Realistic prosthetics very well done!! Not sure where all the orange blood comments are coming from looked pretty red to me maybe they need to adjust their colour settings! The sound did dip a little in two parts but nothing that would impact your viewing experience i didn't need to adjust the volume to counter it. All in all great plot, acting was great, characters interacted well and had a natural on screen rapour. I'm excited to hopefully see more of clownface the future, hopefully a franchise! It would great to find out more back story!

Better than expected!
livin_the_weekend23 August 2020
*NON-SPOILER*

Looking at the reviews I didn't have much expectation for this film. I knew it was low budget to begin with so that was no problem. One problem that I do have is the change of volume during scenes as they play through and going from one scene to another. It needed to be equalised so that frustrated me a bit whilst watching. The main actors in the film did a very good job but the bit-part actors, I won't name anybody but it was so fake it made me sink my head into my hands with cringe.

As for the storyline of the film, like I said on other reviews, there was no real explanation of the history as to why these killings were happening, but all in all I don't regret watching it and a lot of these lower budget films, I do, but I give them all a shot, so...

I would recommend seeing this, although without giving anything away, I think it could've ended a bit better!

This is a thing that was made...

Yeah, that almost everything I have to say about this movie... it exists, which is bad enough already. I love b grade, low budget serial killer movies. The more ridiculous the plot and the murderer character the better! But Clownfave, the killer, not the whole movie, was a seriously boring character...

Don't you love seeing that one 10/10 review in a sea of 2s and 3s?? It's actually hilarious and I hope that movie crew staff member DONT STOP REVIEWING THEIR OWN MOVIES!

Please, keep doing this, I need a laugh every now and then. Even if I'm laughing at how pathetic and sad people can be... I mean... do you really think that we're stupid enough to believe that your a viewer who just happened to see and LOVE this movie? Or do you just not care? Anyway, don't stop, please?

A new favourite to rewatch
amateurmoviewatcher1 June 2023
I adore this movie, but not for the right reasons. It was not "good" in the way that it was meant to be. This movie was clearly low-budget, which isn't automatically a bad thing, but it was laughably bada t times. The gore was okay, but the kills were sort of funny. Seeing the so obviously faked hover-hand-esque murdering was hilarious. I've watched and laughed at better slashers, so this was a treat.

The acting wasn't equal amongst the cast but I loved that. It was highly entertaining. It wasn't unbearable though and I was able to rationalize the seemingly strange behaviours of some of the characters. I'm rooting for these guys to grow and learn better technique. We all start somewhere.

This movie introduced me to new characters and actors that I have become wholly infatuated with, namelly Richard Buck as Owen (<333), Abigail Wisdom as Amy (<3), and Mr. Clownface himself (<3). I'd love to see another with this cast! Perhaps one of those ones where they get trapped in the backwoods during a road trip or while on vacation at someone's vacation home?
