Alia bhatt should sue its makers
kumarvarun198910 October 2016
Released originally in Kannada in 2015 -- and you just have to see how original this concoction of gaudy construction is -- Luv U Alia now comes in a Hindi version to prove what film lovers already know. Bad commercial films in any language are equally bad.

There are no redeeming qualities in this banal, cheerless, sloppy, clumsy and distinctly dumb rom-com about a shifty marriage counsellor Kiran (Chandan Kumar) who gets the hots for a girl named Alia (Sangeetha Chauhan) only to realise that her father Ravi (V Ravichandran) whom Kiran suspects of being a slimeball with a stethoscope, is actually an angel in a doctor's coat.Whoever thought this spindly rom-com would actually work needs to be honoured for optimism.

The second half of the abominably sickening, over-sweetened and corny confection has Kiran winning over his future father-in-law by pretending to be a nurse, a female nurse, let me hasten to clarify. Ha ha. What follows is clunky comments on broken marriages conducted by a director who has serious problems escaping the multi-coloured toys of his childhood that seem to have chased his filmmaking aspirations into adulthood.

The film looks like a cross between a 8-year old child's drawing-book image of a lavish lifestyle and a 20-something year old's most outlandish porn fantasy. One of the film's highpoints is the hero in drag pretending to seduce his girlfriend's father. If this strikes you as distastefully incestuous, then be warned. Good taste is not a strong quality in this colourful romp.

The sets and locations are as garish as Lego buildings constructed by a child who favours red green and purples.

If Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge fell on its head and suffered serious injuries, this film could be the end-result. The performances are beyond atrocious. Everyone has the licence to act goofily without fear of repercussions.

In the second-half, the long-missing Bhumika Chawla who once tolerated Salman Khan's weird hairstyle in Tere Naam, shows up to tolerate the hero's weird.everything! This is no country for the discerning. Stay away.

waste of money and time

Warning: Spoilers
First of all this movie is another example for Kannada movie makers' immaturity in movies, the slapsticks are not fun anymore and they aren't supposed to run a whole movie with it. Coming to this movie it is nothing but some short jokes and some bullshit about a hero joining his divorced in-laws together. The movie consists of many item songs irrelevant to the story and just to pass the time. I saw 7.5 IMDb rating and expected a logical and fresh story but wasted 2 long hours thinking every second when it will get over. About the acting, I didn't think the hero and heroine were paid to act through the situations, they were just to show off their body in a multiple of songs. To conclude I think you can watch this movie if u want to waste your time and money and sit through the movie without getting a depression. And seriously the above reviews Man! are they even honest opinions Masterpiece ..you kidding me?

Mutli Starrer movie with great performances and story
nensnstg19 September 2015
Luv U Alia is a movie which has multiple stars like Bhumika Chawla & southern super star V Ravichandran. Multi starer movie with great performances. There are new comers Sangeetha who is a refreshing face & is the perfect 'Alia' whom anyone can fall in love with. Chandan has acted well as a true lover boy and the story explores how far can one go to achieve their love. Sunny Leone sizzles in the song 'Kamakshi'and looks breathtakingly beautiful in the melodious song. The story is not ever heard before. It makes one wonder whether true love exists, and if so, how far will someone go to achieve true love. The movie includes drama & twists to its story. There are few tear jerking moments as well. There are few extremely comic characters. I couldn't control my laughter.

Luv U Alia is a movie which has several celebrities like Bhumika Chawla & South-Indian crazy superstar V Ravichandran. Multi starer movie with a tight screenplay, excellent camera angles, outdoor shooting sequence and action. The two new comers Sangeetha, is a refreshing face & is the perfect 'Alia'. One can easily fall in love with her performance. Secondly, Chandan has acted well as a true lover boy and then the story explores just how far can one go to achieve their love. The sultry Sunny Leone sizzles in the song 'Kamakshi' and looks breathtakingly lovely in the melodious track. Luv U Alia movie makes one wonder whether true love really exists, and if so, exactly how far will someone go to achieve true love. Its a great movie from the Star Director Indrajit Lankesh, a master-piece of Kannada cinema.

Visual Masterpiece with its heart in the right place
shivamananta17 September 2015
The movie is a visual treat for Kannada movie goers. Beautifully shot. Feels like watching a movie out of international studio's

The songs are in itself an exhilarating experience. Kanase and Sanjeveleli are worth a mention here. Watching these songs on the big screen is a joy. Kanase sung by Shreya Ghoshal transports you into a different world.

Plot revolves around to what extent a boy will go to win his lady love back and also gives a message about harmonizing relationships on which excessive involvement in work life has taken a toll. Ravichandran's persona is noteworthy. He carries the role like a breeze.

Newcomers Chandan and Sangeetha are good to watch. Bhoomika chawla's character brings in the required sensitivity. The comedy is good and Sunny Leone's song is a welcome addition.

Overall a very entertaining movie with its heart in the right place. Director Indrajit Lankesh has done a fabulous job.

This movie is an experience which comes as a delight to Kannada audience. This is what is called a well balanced, entertaining and visually stunning cinema making. It has set the standards of Kannada movie making on a high pedestal. The movie is comparable to a good entertaining mainstream Bollywood cinema by all standards !
