What a Joke!

I am 45 minutes into watching the movie and can't stop laughing at this joke of a movie. Random events,songs, nonsense like the Yoga camp in Canada (where crazy things happen) and more nonsense. And this is just 45 minutes into this so-called movie. Acting by lead trio is rubbish. Only silver lining in this horrible fest is the Locales - absolute gorgeous scenarios, beautifully captured, simply lovely. And couple of songs are melodious.

Not sure how Rishi kapoor got into this mess with his fake getup as a very old man ;-) Another tidbit is the Woman director herself leads the way in dancing for a item numnber and it is obvious that she is directing only because of being the wife of T-Series owner!

Don't get fooled by some good reviews here, which are clearly fake and planted by the marketing folks. Wish they had shown that sense in making a half good movie in the first place.

It is one hour in to the movie and i give up! Better to just listen/watch the songs on Youtube and get done with it! Watch it at your peril ;-)

film is cliché-ridden

Doubt is rather unfairly maligned; It may be true that it has killed more dreams than failure ever will, but sometimes, a tactfully timed doubt can be used to end an embarrassingly bad dream before it gets out of hand. Let's take Divya Khosla Kumar's second directorial feature, Sanam Re, as an example. If the director or the producers – T-Series' Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar – had listened to any doubts they may have had during the making of this film, we might have been spared yet another ill-conceived love story. Unfortunately, they didn't and as a result, Sanam Re exists. The alleged plot of the film is incoherent, cliché-ridden and was probably written by the children who appear in the intermittent flashbacks. The movie begins with Akash (Pulkit Samrat) who is too busy struggling up the corporate ladder to find time for love or even answer his mother's phone calls. Even as he allows his obnoxious boss (a hammy Manoj Joshi) to bully him, he can't escape the life that he has left behind in Tanakpur, a place, where no matter what time of the year it is, the CGI snow keeps falling. When Akash is called home to help sell off the derelict photo studio that once belonged to his ailing grandfather (a bewigged, bespectacled Rishi Kapoor), we are helpfully given some glimpses into the past so that the director can drive home the point of the film – which is that no matter how hard you try, you can't escape love. Or something like that. We also discover that Akash once had a childhood sweetheart Shruti (Yami Gautam) who he gave up in his search for material success.

Love Story?? Where was it!!!

I will start with the Good things. 1.>Good Cinematography(Looks a lot like Yaarian though. 2.>Some nice songs.

That's it.

Bad: 1.>Where was the plot and what was it? Please explain someone. 2.>Some sh*t yoga camp in Canada where they use cuddle therapy and dance therapy. Baba Ramdev would have committed suicide!

3.>Yami Gautam either smiles or cries. Pulkit Samrat did nothing basically. What happened to this FUKREY star. He has talent but somehow Divya Khoshla Kumar made it disappear.

4.>Trying to add some effects by using the irregular time line. It actually looked like someone just called a random function for editing.

5.>A story which we basically read on FB or Quora under "Sad stories someone told you" and after that you think, please don't make a movie out of it, please.

6.>Many random things like "future teller Rishi Kapoor whose predictions are always right" and "Rishi Kapoor explaining Love to his grandson who is probably 8 yrs old" and "The empowerment scene in the office(if you have seen it)" and "Everyone fell in love with each other in like 7 days, what???" "Urvashi Routela!! Does she have a role?".

Actually, this is full of sh*t. Divya Khosla Kumar was actually fulfilling her childhood dream of making a sad romantic movie based on her understanding of love. I seriously thought that YAARIAN was the worst movie I saw but that was actually better. She is now joining the race with Farah Khan, Sajid Khan and many more. Please don't direct anything else Divya. You have money that does't mean you will torture us.

If you have not seen this, well and good (Fitoor is much better). If yes, go watch Masaan and stop feeling shameful about Indian Cinema.

stupidest story line with the best title song of the year!

This movie is such a massive waste of wonderful location, budget, casts and most importantly the very beautiful title track "sanam re". This song definitely deserved a thousand time better story line to be meaningfully understood. They basically stretched 2 min story line in 2 hours for absolutely nothing. Not a single character is developed properly as well.

I was having a lot of expectation but seriously once again Divya proved that she can't make a good sensible movie. This movie is just an another piece of sh*t after Yaariyan.

I would suggest to go watch Sanam Teri Kasam instead of Sanam Re. Sanam Teri Kasam is much much better than this sh*t. Totally wasted talents like Yami and Urvashi. I seriously thought that YAARIAN was the worst movie I saw but that was actually better.

Only good thing about this movie is its music. Please stop embarrassing yourself by making movies like this. Please don't direct anything else Divya. You have money that does't mean you will torture us. Watch or Not?: Not! This is a film that you would want to miss even on the Television let alone theaters.

Watch out for the fake reviews!!!! visually appealing but non sense story line

First of all I was surprised to find some positive reviews about the movie. Then I noticed that most of the positive reviews have a weird similarity. All the user names have bollywood personalities name + do. secondly all such users were registered exactly 1 month & 3 weeks prior to day. Coincidence???? naah..just shoddy work by PR team I guess.

Coming to my review of the movie, it has great music, good looking actors, superb locales & a great cameo by Rishi kapoor. But that's not all that you require to make a film... right?? The story had the potential to be a good romantic movie, but ultimately has a lot of gaps in the story telling. Eg. The story starts with the 500 steps theory which you will think is the crux of the romance. The journey ends in-front of the Urvashi's childhood characters home ..but pulkit ends up falling in love with Yami. 2nd : what was yami's character doing in Canada?? its a half cooked story which fails to connect you with any of the characters..Even the humor in the movie is quite cheap.

So overall its a waste of time..I was totally disappointed by the movie.

Unimaginably Worse!

In a single statement I would say that this movie is for the Love Fantacised like the Director seems to be is. Only the teenage girls may find some sense and romance in this non-sense people call movie.

This movie is a weirdo and I watched this piece of sh*t because of the continued persuasion from my girlfriend and I hated the movie from the very moment it started. The most hateful character in the movie is of Daddu played by Rishi Kapoor. Nobody would like to have an idiot man like him to be his Grandpa (the character). Although Rishi Kapoor played it well, but you will end up hating the character so much that you will feel like head shooting him.

In degree of hatefulness, Rishi Kapoor is followed by Bharti Singh. She is portrayed as a slut who teaches Yoga and the humour she created was ridiculously cheap and disgusting. Other characters in this movie were average. In a non-sense movie like this, you have no expectations from the characters. The only thing I liked in the movie were a couple of songs.

But the real bullsh*t in the movie is the conceptions it professes. 500 step journey to the true lover's house, the resignation of entire office as a stand against atrocities of their boss, the epic non-sense of donation of heart (which is actually a murder by a doctor violating the Right to Life under Article 21 of the constitution of India), etc. made me hate this movie so much that I could not keep my anger in control. But, I enjoyed being with my girlfriend and didn't made her feel that I was annoyed, but, I will never go again to watch any love fantasized movie.

This movie is AWFUL

one of the worst movies of my life. I was in shock for 2-3 days, why I wasted my 2 hrs on this movie. Pathetic direction. I just could not understand what was going on. There is no connection or synchronization between scenes. Over dramatic cinematography. Instead they should have paid more attention to screenplay. I wonder, none of the crew member of this movie, ever objected that this is a disaster in the name of cinema and should not release it.

Amazing Movie

This movie is a great cure for insomnia. I watched this movie first time on my flight - India To States. This movie made this otherwise painful 20 hour flight extremely comfortable. Since this was my first time, I passed out in a "state of shock", I couldn't handle the awesomeness of this movie.

If ever I'm sleepless, I watch this movie and get comfortably numb.

The movie portrays the comic timing of Divya Khosala Kumar, each time I watch any scene from this movie, I just feel what the **** was she thinking, when she made this movie. I also pity her husband, who has to throw away money on making these movies.

Over all this is a great movie, I have given 1 star here to IMDB, as this site is not worthy of the awesomeness of "Sanam Re"

On the whole SANAM RE boasts of great visuals and chart buster music which has been the hallmark of T Series. Even though the pace of the movie acts as deterrent at places, its target audience and the right release week (Valentine period) will see it through at the box office. Go get soaked in love. Now. Divya Khosla Kumar's SANAM RE is a sweet romantic love story smeared with a cathartic tear that is the perfect recipe for the romantic air around the Valentine's Day. The fabulous music score, amazing locations and great picturization makes it a visual treat which doesn't let the slow pace affect the movie watching experience in any way.

Sanam Re is a perfect watch with your partner for these Valentine's Weekend. Must give a chance. A sweet romantic movie.

Sanam Re is a Sweet love story directed by Divya Kumar Khosla whose first movie Yarriyan was Sleeper hit of year 2014. Sanam Re is a triangle love story between Aakash (Pulkit Sharma), Shruti (Yami Gautam) and Mrs Pablo (Urvashi Rautela). Sanam Re has every thing to serve you on these Valentine's Day. Soulful music score, Excellent locations of Laddakh, Canada and Himachal Pradesh makes Sanam Re a perfect watch on these Valentine with your partner.

Pulkit Sharma has done good job and looks perfect in romantic role. Yami Gautam looks beautiful and has given nice performance. Urvashi Rautela is really a surprise pack for movie. She really looks gorgeous in the movie. Rishi Kapoor is simply superb.

Music is fabulous and its a highlight of Sanam Re. Divya Kumar Khosla has selected some of the amazing locations for shooting and great picturization makes It a visual treat.

Overall, Sanam Re is a perfect watch with your partner for these Valentine's Weekend. Must give a chance. A sweet romantic movie. Go for it.

This is some weird love story , ms Pablo Loves Akash but he Loves Shruti like triangle , at the end film reveals what happen to Akash and Shruti , but nothing about ms Pablo . i am still curious about her .

Mr.Sanjeev Dutta you copied well by the Turkish FILM. But you failed to take your 2nd lady character Urvashi Rautela to the better climax.That you add to make your story different. All over the direction is average. Music is good. Lyrics are awesome. But the story you copied by Turkish film SK TESADUFLERI SEVER has been released in Urdu language in 2014. It is my complaint to the story writers why they copy the stories. Like Creature is a copy of a Hollywood Movie. These kind of Writers should get educate from their elders Writers Like RAJU Hirani. I don't know what kind of weed does Divya Khosla Kumar {Phate huye Chidiye ki Ghosla} is smoking, really it's a worst movie I had ever seen. Disgusted to see this movie, it's even more similar to a pornography movie. I don't know how come Yami Gautam had accepted this script, but I must say it's the worst movie of her career.

Pulkit Samrat excels in a role that required him to be subtle and emote when he's not expected to say anything. He's in great shape and looks every bit the romantic icon on the lines of Salman Khan, Rajesh Khanna etc. Yami Gautam looks deliriously pretty and a perfect girl from the mountains. She surprises with her intensity and intensity. Urvashi Rautela is the surprise packet of the film. She looks beautiful, acts well and adds a solid oomph quotient to the film which is one of the highlight of the film. Rishi Kapoor always surprises with his laid back genius. He's a delight as the old man who moves you immensely and leaves you with a smile.

"It doesn't matter how longer you live but it matters that how long you live in those moments". It is really a good philosophy and If I am not wrong that is the most powerful weapon of this film. Till the second half of the film it was appearing that what a rubbish film it is but in last 15-20 minutes the film creates a twist. And the twist is that the lead personage 'Shruti' knows that she is not going to live longer that is why she visits foreign countries like Canada and then by coincidence she meets the boy 'Ahkash' but when she knows that the both are in a deep love she starts ignoring him. There are some illogical things that are used like the foreseeing of the old man and the 500 feet distance and the impertinent behaviour of the guy with his boss but nevertheless the film depicts the goodness of life. No doubt it is good film. Though there are some exaggeration. And acting of Hrishi Sir is appreciable and songs are great.

Sanam Re is the absolute worst Bollywood movie I have ever seen. Pathetic, stupid story -line; it was laughable!

I hated to see the lead actors waste their talents on this farce of a movie. My advice: watch Sanam Teri Kasam. It is well written, well acted and a great, old-fashioned love story that will have you in tears.

worth watching!!

The plot begins from Mumbai where Aakash, an ambitious boy is working in an office. Due to the ailing health of his grandfather and a property deal of their old photo studio, he returns to his home in Shimla. The movie shifts into a flashback where we could see the cute relationship he shared with his grandfather and his 'first love' Shruti. Being on the verge of getting fired his only hope for an important contract gets him to Canada in a Yoga camp. Here enters (ex Mrs. Pebblo) Akanksha, an unsuccessful girl in finding true love. Aakash tries to woo her for getting the contract and even she starts developing some genuine feelings for him but destiny strikes here when Shruti meets Aakash in the camp. So will Shruti be able to forgive Aakash? Will Aakash listen to his heart? Will Akanksha turn a hurdle between this couple or will she play an integral part to reunite them? These questions will lead to answers after watching 'Sanam Re.'
