Anjaan Seriously One of the worst films in my life... Watched Premiere Show in Cinema - City Centre Mall, Doha with two of my friends @1AM.. My first guess was right when watching trailer itself that Surya is not donning dual roles... Also U can easily guess where the films will finish in few mins. Disappointed with U1 Music. Theater was house full but the people started to get bored & they murmuring b/w themselves instead watching movie. Misplaced Songs. All the Villains are worst in the film especially the main villain.. Also too many Hindi Dialogues which made me irritating & worst dubbing for Vidyut Jammwal.. So many characters gone missing especially Samantha's Dad who was PC... Surprise Element : Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a bikini for 2-3secs My humble req plz stay with ur friends & Njoi ur day with different outing than going to film... There are so many things to say but I finish with this ... If u really eager waiting to watch this film. Watch this film when ticket rates comes down at ₹40-50 becoz the film worth only that much..

Anjaan - a much awaited Don story of this year with a great crew in it, Surya, Vidyut, Samantha, Yuvan, Santhosh Sivan & Linguswamy. But the movie doesn't go well as expected...
Strength :
Surya's daring look :
Surya looks is daring in this movie. Seems to be the best ever look for Surya. Everyone is waiting to see his stylish look in the movie. The way he took the toothpick from his mouth in most of the scenes was awesome.
Yuvan's music:
Its bang bang all over the world. Rocking intro song by Yuvan made the movie to rock. Kadhal Aasai with Yuvan style with superb visuals its a treat to audience.
Santhosh Sivan:
Santhosh Sivan cinematography was the great plus point in this movie. His visuals of Mumbai was awesome.
Weakness:
Story and Screenplay:
As a much awaited Don story it doesn't have any daring scenes. Billa 2 was not a huge hit, but its having many mass scenes which is missing in this movie. Movie goes very slow and its too boring in some scenes.
Length of the movie:
Length of the movie is almost 2 hrs 50 min which is another minus point. There are many unnecessary scenes such as Surya, Vidyut and Samantha dances for Hindi songs and Ek Tho Theen song (which cant be removed as it is sung by Surya).
Twists and turns:
There are too many twists and turns in the movie which are easily predictable by audience. Whatever Lingu thought its gonna be a great twist was guessed by most of the audience easily.
Vidyut Role:
After Billa2 and Thuppaki Vidyut is doing his 3rd film in Tamil. In 1st two movies Vidyut role was awe somatic, there were many fan followers even though he was a villain. But in Anjaan he doesn't have a good role. Only one fight with Main villain was good. There is not much expected chemistry for Surya and Vidyut.

Anjaan!!!! Good Cast ,Santhosh Sivan with the Camera , Yuvan with the Music and the over-rated Lingusamy calling the shots is a disappointment.
Plot Review: The Movie Starts of well but slowly the guessing game becomes too easy. The Placement of songs is too pathetic. It seems Lingusamy has followed a formula that as soon as a villain is killed a song is to be played. You literally start praying for no more songs at a point when the director cruelly plagues you with one.
Acting: There is not much acting the actors can do when the story & script is such a big let down. Barring the 1 scene from Manoj Bajpai where he proves his class there is nothing much to say.
Pros: Nothing to be dead honest!! Bang Bang Bang Song may be. Cons: Story , Screenplay & Direction.

Anjaan - Tagline "A film without a story" After hearing the Main Twist about the Surya's character! Before watching the movie. that was like a Biggest Spoiler! I was in Nightmare. But after went to the Theatre. Whole movie is Spoiler(ed)
First let me confess my Doubts!
-They called Surya and Vidyut were Gangsters.. But i didn't see any Proof for that. They just showed People just getting panic after hearing the "RAJU BHAI"
-And Why so much Strange North Indian Actors(Aliens)! A no. of characters in the movie are hardly recognizable.
-It will take 2-4 time watch, just to remember their names! after all I could remember only 4 of them. "Raju Bhai" "Chandru Bhai" "Karim Bhai" and Samantha's "Jeeva" (that too i noticed her name in the very end of the movie)
-Hardly Three dialogues in the movie(in repeat mode)
-There were Half-a-Dozens Villains with 293 Fighters.. Surya bashing all of them without a sense of motive nor purpose.

VERDICT: FOR ME if not "Could have been better movie" at least it would have been "Could have been a Movie"..
Audience has became more Honest. So Grow up star directors! and Dear Director sir I can hardly remember your last gangster movie "BHEEMA"! at least it's in my memory! but ANJAAN!

Surya done amazing double roles in previous movies and played different character in most movies, yet fail to deliver that kind performance in this movie. Vidyut should have been given more time and role on the screenplay, as we know he is a great martial artist capable of sophisticated fight scenes. Samantha unnecessary for this movie, why need a love story in a Don revenge movie? Lingusamy STOP DIRECTING MOVIES. As a producer great, but fails as a director.
Lots of mixed up from other Don movies. there were several 'twist' which only serve as boring predictable plots. Climax fail miserably to be even call a climax.
Camera-10/10 Audio-7/10 Plot-1/10 Editing-3/10
Overall fail to meet the expectation, Surya can do much better than this.

Even though I am not a buff of so call commercial masala kinda cinemas, I merely wanted to watch Anjaan for Suriya, Santosh's cinematography and of course for the cluster of negative reviews...
As we all know that, its a commercial masala film starts with hero's introduction with the mass fight and followed by the hero's introduction song, non sense songs in middle of the flick, finally an item song ends with the protagonist kills the antagonist..
Tough it had all those commercial elements,there was a lag in overall screenplay. Where director lost his grip while the move kicks off in to its another phase.
Its a sort of outdated script, where Screenplay was so predictable, (especially Raju bai's comeback scene too !!) that's the huge lag of the entire script.
Suriya's screen presence was stunningly mass and unique in some scenes.. Santosh Sivan's cinematography was a big plus, I loved the light tone he used for the entire movie. Yuvan's songs are sounds good, but BGM was not stick with the story line..
The only reason I can see behind those negative reviews is, the hype which they've created before the release. The irritating part was "Trailer success meet"!!...
Overall Anjaan is not that much crappy to be trashed.. Even people were praised some masala flick on recent times. Where Anjaan is far better than those.. Its worth a watch!!!

Even before release Linguswamy claimed it to be part Bashaa (1955) and part Nayagan (1987) both which are undoubtedly classics in Tamil cinema but it turned out to be a movie with loosely connected characters and sequences. There is little or no entertainment after the plot is revealed at the interval to keep the audience glued to their seats. You need not be a frequent movie goer to easily guess what would happen next.
Positives - Surya-Linguswamy combo, Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs and music, Santhosh Sivan Cinematography.
Negatives - Story, Screenplay, Comedy Sequences (Little or no comedy), supporting casts of dubbing (Vidyut Jamwal and others), duration of the movie (over 3hrs).
Verdict - Suriya in his many promotional interviews said he rejected three other scripts and choose Anjaan. But I doubt whether Anjaan is the best one he could pick. If you are looking for sensible and entertaining cinema I would recommend giving it a miss.

Anjaan is a superb film,with Surya's looks the movie has been even more entertaining to watch..i have heard people saying bad about this movie i don't know y they have told these reviews as by my part it so good...:)one of the best films i have seen through out my life..cinematography by Santhoshravi is worth to be mentioned!!Linguswamy's direction is also good..Vidhujamal is another guy who should be praised!! his acting with Surya has made the film more interesting

EXCELLENT MOVIE. No doubt its really an entertainer . first half is much excellent than 2 nd . But its not like a Malayalam movie.. so u have to watch it in a Tamil film mind. u may ask a common question after watching the movie.. that I don't say or publish any twist here. Surya is in so mass look and performance.. vidyuth also performed well . totally a grand massive movie that released after a long time in Tamil . watch it guys . Samantha has not performed well in some scenes.2 nd half u may get bore a bit . First half has 9/10 n the second is 5/10 .. that's my rating to this movie totally 7/10. its only my personal comment about this movie. try to watch guys... there is an unexpected twist before the interval time..2 nd half is a revenge depend on the first half. good film guys.. watch n enjoy the action thriller

If you are looking for an outstanding action plot (or) a perfect time- pass flick, then definitely this is not the film you are looking for.
First of all, the story is itself not well scripted and executed with a very average screenplay. Obviously the film contains few mass scenes and interesting sequences. But that is not alone enough to lift a movie up.
The major assets of the movie are, Suriya, Vidhyut Jamwal, Santhosh Sivan & few sequences in the first half. Suriya, as usual had nailed his role perfectly. But the director had made his characterization badly. Vidhyut Jamwal had a different role in this movie and he had also perfectly done his role. Cinematographer Santhosh Sivan had pictured Mumbai in a better manner.
The major negatives of the film are unwanted scenes in the second half and unexciting screenplay. The film lost its track somewhere in the second half and till climax, the director failed to bring the audience's attention back to the film.
Overall, this movie may be a stuff for Suriya fans where they can enjoy Suriya's screen presence in every frame. But for others, definitely this is not a film they could enjoy.

Anjaan, the Mumbai based gangster movie will not please all kind of the audience. Watch for Suriya, he is at his best especially his screen presence, style and of-course the fight sequence. Lingusami's most anticipated and hyped movie miserably fail to fulfill the expectation. Predictable twists and average screenplay definitely effected flow of the film. Krishna coming to Mumbai for finding his brother Raju, and how he will succeed in this, is the story of the Movie. Good team effort but lack of passion to deliver the awesome movie. Love scenes could have reduced bit and concentrate script and screenplay especially for a gangster movie. Director tried to add all elements such as friendship, romance, action, comedy and songs but, since weak screenplay and unconvincing twist there is nothing to make audience enthusiastic.

The bomb was the director's over confident speech. I would have given more stars if he didn't speak like this.
But everything was good: Characters, cinematography, bgm, songs etc...

Even though the film is old wine in new bottle its is watchable Suriya is the backbone of the film film has a good first half and an average second half...Without some twists the story is predictable Suriya has done a great job with both roles but his hard work spoiled by bad screen play when coming to rest of cast,its not bad Samantha is charming...with lot of cleavage shows...she shocked as with 2 sec bikini.but in case of acting is average Vidyuth done a good performance.but his lip movements is bad others are just average coming to technical work,Santhosh sivan done a great job by his extra ordinary camera works Stunts are really good Back ground score is also good

Full action packed movie. It lacks bit of romance, 2 many songs and they doesn't sync with the movie. Routine story line with a revenge by his younger brother. There are twists in the movie which can add on some advantage to the script. Comedy is at the beginning and at the end for sometime which is enjoyable. Few comedy scenes are for no use at all (Brahmanandam Entry). They could have utilized Vidyut Jamwal in a more better way as he is one of the new style fighter packed actor. Might be they thought it would overcome Surya styled fights.
Samantha cute acting will give a new experience for TamilNadu audience. Her Role in this script might not be something new from current generations scripts but you can enjoy her seeing her in short dresses, which is new for everyone. Bikini wear would be her first time ever on the screen.
So, over all 3 out of 5 just for surya, vidyut jamwal and Samantha. You can have fun with friends.

For me Anjaan was a super movie... I see many people posting bad about this movie... maybe they hate surya.. anyway Anjaan is an awesome movie Especially surya's daring lookz... oh.. he is superb.. and Viduj and surya did a very good justice to the movie. The first half of the movie is more interesting than the second half and he breaks the suspense before the interval.. that could be left for the second half I don't have any bad words about this movie.. anyways i am a Ajith Fan not surya.. but i still likes the movie.. Go theater and enjoy the movie.. the cinematography and the direction is extraordinary you get the full feeling only in the theater so don't miss that .......

Anjaan best to be a mass masala entertainer.The large extent the film is salvaged by Suriya's charisma and star power.
The film stands on a thin storyline.Krishna (Suriya) comes from a city (Kanyakumari) to Mumbai in search of his brother. He finds out that his brother Raju Bhai (Suriya) was a dreaded don of Mumbai underworld, and he trusted only one man Chandru (Vidyut Jamwal) his mentor and best friend.
Raju Bhai was fighting a legion of enemies (all Bollywood baddies- Manoj Bajpai, Dilip Tahil etc) and one day gets knocked off. The film is about love, friendship and cold blooded revenge.The interval block is the best part of the film with a riveting fight sequence choreographed by action director Silva.The scene has been done in a striking manner which leaves the audience surprised, thanks to Suriya terrific performance.In the first half, the romance between Suriya and Samantha lightens up the mood and the song 'Ek Do Theen' is shot in a very glamorous manner by cinematographer Santosh Sivan.
Lingusamy has made it like a formula movie. A super hero, who loses and remain,speaks punch lines, romances and in a cunning twist annihilates the main villain.The friendship angle between Suriya and Vidyut has been handled in a light hearted manner.Samantha in itsy-bitsy clothes including a two-piece adds glamour,while there is Chitrangada Singh's item number provides the oomph.
The BGM of Yuvan Shankar Raja is one of the highlights of the film and Suriya's introduction song 'Bang Bang Bang ' is well picturised. Santosh Sivan's camera gives it the rich look and stunt shivas powerful action treat for surya fans . Suriya is the saving grace in otherwise a slow moving film.Vidyut has a mass role in half of the film. Anjaan is for those who seek unabashed entertainment and relish masala films.

Anjaan is one of the best movies I have seen.The story of the movie is very different.I see many people posting bad reviews on this movie.Those are not true.Surya acted really well in the movie.Linguswamy's direction is excellent and the song 'bang bang' by Yuvan Sankar is a good one.The song 'Ek dho teen' which was sung by the hero Surya is also a good one. It is a very good entertainer and has a very good twist. In the movie Surya comes in two different looks.The first look is a clean shaven look and the second look is with beard and straightened hair.These two different looks are one of the main highlights of the movie.
