Bad overall attempt
jackmeat24 October 2015
My quick rating 2,1/10. Bad acting, bad fight scenes, no zombies, no horror elements. No entertainment. The fights are terrible minus the one guy who apparently is in the UFC as the head "zombie" but you wouldn't know it aside from landing a few knee lifts. Don't bother, there was no plot, the other zombie ninjas just kicked around for no reason and the good guys were pathetic. I am all for a martial arts school of young adults pooling there money together to make a film which is what this mess had to be but at least give us some semblance of a plot. I get the flashbacks of "his happened, that happened" but when they don't explain anything?

Clean up on aisle 3
ednail-3274322 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I was hoping for a new approach on the Zombie theme - What the ... Okay so you can dress a few guys in tight body suits and have them make animal noises - but that's NOT a zombie! No ripping parts out of victims, no blood (okay the Ninjas don't bleed - we get it, but their victims do!). What was the point of the Zombie boss? apart from the pulling power of a real MMA fighter, he really didn't do much. As the Alpha the others should have been following his lead. Instead he was just the same as them only without a hood.

The acting (no wait I cant call it that) - the moving about on screen was so two dimensional it was like watching a flick book. The lead actress looked like a spoiled child pretending to get sympathy, her cries were so fake. Dillon's delivery was so boring I found myself missing some of his dialogue due to micro napping.

The saving grace of the cast was Hiraldo but his screen time was so short it must have been an afterthought to fill a plot hole. Talking of 'the plot'; You have these guys sent in to neutralize a threat, but the one guy who they look up to for guidance is left in a car outside. He then turns up when all else has failed, but he's wiped out in 30 seconds - Maybe he should have been brought in earlier to finish of the zombies and the climax could have been a hand to hand with Dillon. Dillon walks away as the victor but in the background Hiraldo swallows some of the ZN serum....

My final gripe was with the camera guy - ffs keep it still! the constant jerking around left me feeling sea sick.

Okay so I did enjoy the fight scenes and now I have a man crush on Hiraldo so all up it was worth the cost of the download.

Yeah, that was a swing and a miss...

Granted, with a title such as "Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops", I must admit that my expectations to the movie were slim to none. Needless to say that I hadn't even heard about this 2015 movie prior to now in 2021 when I sat down to watch it.

Right from the very start, this movie had cards stacked against it. I mean, that sound they opted for having the zombie ninjas making was just laughably bad. Even a lion would tremble if it heard that sound. So yeah, the movie was definitely not off to a great start.

And believe you me, it didn't get better as the movie trotted on. The storyline and script in the movie was just rubbish. But then again, I hadn't really put my hopes up for much from the movie. I had hoped though, on some level, that the movie would be so awkward and goofy that it would be fun to watch. But "Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops" wasn't one such movie; nay, it was just a downright bad movie.

Sure, the production level was fairly good for a movie of this type, and they definitely seemed to know what they were aiming for. But the movie concept just didn't work out for me, not even in the least bit.

I am sure that there is an audience out there for a movie such as the 2015 "Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops", I just wasn't in that particular audience.

My rating of "Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.

Sad excuse for a movie. Why?
morbidasperge6 May 2020
I am binge watching every Z movies I can find and this one found itself on my list, Sadly, I sat through the whole thing.

Not a single "actor" is convincing and the story could've been written by a failing 5th grader for all we know. But the worst thing is that, despite is obvious lack of talent, skills, tech or budget, this movie seems to pretend to be something serious from start to finish. Most B movies have the decency to not take themselves seriously and offer the usual laugh and "mock us here" moment. This one did not.

Uncontrollable Death
nogodnomasters24 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The Saisei Security corporation inadvertently created killer ninja zombies while working on a flesh serum. These zombies have lightening fast reflexes and bullets don't slow them down. Dillon (Adam T Perkins) a black ops person, hence the other half of the title, is interviewing late at night for a job when the outbreak happens. It seems the response team has orders to kill any witness too. Dillon must fight off the police and zombies in order to save the girl...the second girl, he screwed up on the first one.

Not since Meatballs 2 have I awaited a film, only to be gravely disappointed. Dillon walks around the building floor by floor getting into fights, attempting to get out. Action takes place in an office building. The scenes were dark, the acting was horrible, the camera managed a glare on the lens. Zombies don't bite and create new zombies, they just kill.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Note to self: In case of ninja zombie outbreak, use stairs.

So bad it has no entertainment value.

Warning: Spoilers
Awful - awful - awful.

I thought it might be somewhat good (at least a four out of ten). Boy, was I ever wrong in my thinking. Acting is really very stiff and quite wooden and the 'zombies' are not done up in anything but completely black outfits with glowing red eyes, and everything about any sort of plot or subplot really sucks big time because it's that bad.

Why was this piece of crap made in the first place? Had to had been a tax write-off for somebody. Soon to be shown at an awful film festival that specializes in really terrible films that were made to actually be terrible or stuck soon in a selection of crappy movies on DVD in a cheap budget bin at some big box store near you. Don't waste your money on this.

So bad I shut it off. Spoilers

Warning: Spoilers
Opens with an action sequence of the zombie ninjas. Slows down as our hero is interviewing for a job in private security. Then things go wrong------

Total lack of character development at the 30 minute point. F/X and gore can't carry a movie.

I'm a purist when it comes to Zombies. I like the Romero-esc, slow moving zombie. Inferior to humans in every way but, destined to win due to numbers and tenacity.

Dying and returning from the dead doesn't make you a ninja. The people that made this didn't make a movie they made a waste of time.

Its a waste of time watching his movie
papu-3972120 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Trust me the people who made this movie were either brain dead themselves, or had too much money to waste making such a movie, OK the summery is they tried bringing assassins back to life (NOT NINJAS) they were made to wear skimpy skin tight cloths like ninja, now they are alive and kill everyone, by just beating them to death. Also they don't eat humans or they don't make others Zombie they just beat people to death like the director of the movie is trying to do to its audience, team is sent to kill Zombies and all employees but all die just a ZOMBIE AND A STUPID SCIENTIST survive because Zombie in the end just makes her pee in her skit Laughs at her and runs away, WARNING U WILL BE BRAIN DEAD IF U WATCH THE MOVIE .

Awful - In one word
haarryi14 November 2015
The title 'Zombie Ninja vs Black Ops' itself screams that nothing good will come from it. But the title is so intriguing that I had to watch it. I approached it with the thought that it is going to be a bad movie. Even with that attitude I came out very disappointed.Even very bad movies will have moments that you might actually enjoy. Not this one. It had not even a single scene that's worth remembering or to keep you engaged.

The beings in the movie, the so called Zombie Ninjas, doesn't have any of the characteristics of either zombies or ninjas. The direction is shoddy at best. The action sequences are wasted with bad camera angles and too many edits. The dialogues are bad and the acting is even worse.

It has far less action scenes for a movie in it's genre. It is a wannabe action flick at best. The theme had the potential to being in a lot of action, but all of that potential is wasted in this. The whole movie is a ginormous waste of opportunity.Better to skip this one.

If only someone had given them some money
kyla-7230210 October 2021
What I envisioned, and what the filmaker probably envisioned from a title like Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops was way more awesome than this film had the budget to create. It was nothing at all like what's depicted on the cover.

They needed more dudes, more pyrotechniques, and a lot less dialogue.

On the other hand, it was clearly a labour of love made by a small group of people on very little money, and I did watch the whole thing.

Great fast paced action!
sands-3710621 October 2015
Pure action film that is all!

Zombie purists will not like this film. Actually they"ll hate it as you see with the previous comments. If you like a movie with lots of gun shootouts and martial arts action through out than this movie is for you.

The action is done very well with tonnes of energy in them. The film definitely lives up to its title! The FX are really good and the zombie eyes are done well.

The biggest let down was the acting cause its not great at all but what do you expect with a movie called Zombie Ninjas vs Black ops. Overall a good fun action flick with an OK story and excellent action sequences. Worth a watch for the intense action.

The actions the star in this Australian hybrid
eddie_baggins20 October 2015
While its performance's won't be studied by aspiring actors and it's unlikely to feature at next year's Academy Awards, with a title like Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops these were never really goals for this low budget privately financed Australian effort and at the end of the day, Rody Claude's film delivers on its title promise.

Showing aspiring filmmakers that all it takes is some determination and willingness to follow your dreams, Claude and his willing cast and crew have crafted a fun and in many ways original zombie tale that doesn't rely on endless blood spraying zombie kills or one liners to get it through the hordes of undead and in reality Zombie Ninja's doesn't even really have zombies in it, a fact that ear marks it as something more original than many other recent undead movie entries.

The "zombies" here are more like red eyed one man armies, ninjas chopping and fly kicking their way through the unsuspecting contingent of human survivors and it's here that Claude delivers the films best scenes.

The action that takes place through Zombie Ninjas; it must be said, this is an action film over a horror film so those wanting to get their scares on will be disappointed, is of the highest order and there's a frenetic and energetic nature to what takes place when the hits start flying. With the zombie ninja warriors led by UFC fighter Soa 'The Hulk' Palelei. Claude and his stunt team really get things moving and it helps overcome the films less proficient elements.

The films script work and acting leaves much to be desired here and while films of this nature aren't won or lost on this alone, delivery in Zombie Ninjas sometimes remains far too flat to engage and some of the performances here are barely above High School production level. It wouldn't have taken much for a performer here to take hold of the situation and carry the team but not one of human team nails a home run.

Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops is a fun and in many ways original Australian production that's worth tracking down. With the potential for this idea to grow into the future we can only hope that Claude and his team can match their skills behind camera with people's skill in front of camera and then we'll be treated to what could well be an Australian cult classic.

One badass low budget movie!
brad-4799922 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Man, this film was fun! Now I don't know what's with troll haters on this review board but they are absolute idiots! Saying things like bad fights, waste of time, awful, no entertainment, not zombies and not ninjas. I mean seriously did they even watch the movie or just random miserable people who spew hate everywhere. Or pirates (criminals feeding criminals) that shouldn't have a right to comment on a film they stole and or not pay to watch!

First off they aren't ninjas as explained by the lead Dillon who clearly says "this is why these freaks move like ninjas. That's why they can dodge our bullets" discovered after talking with Mali about how they are genetically enhanced. So clearly a play on the name Ninjas! OK two… Eddie says "what... zombies!" Mali says, " I guess so." They obviously don't know what these freaks are and so clearly a name given to them by the characters as the closest thing they are too.

The story was good overall but felt like a movie with lots chopped out. Now the acting was stiff but still a good effort from inexperienced actors. The fight scenes were fantastic as they were fast and intense. They didn't drag on too long like most martial arts films which gave this film more of a realistic feel to it. The gun fights were awesome in particular AK versus Dillon and Eddie on the office floor and then in the car park where the black ops team breach. Western-style standoff at the end was awesome too! The music through out was a bit much but overall pretty good score.

This movie was one fun ride from start to finish and absolutely intense as hell! Don't listen to these poor miserable pirate haters who can't even afford 5 dollars to rent a movie legally, I mean how sad of a life is that.

One badass low budget movie with slick production values, lots of fight scenes and gun play. Well done to the people behind this one! and yes, good play on the word zombie ninjas!

Worth a watch
amears-9333421 October 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not generally a Zombie movie watcher but I quite enjoyed this -- --

Tension from the outset and I loved the way the Zombies moved. Quite unsettling.

Some familiar Australian faces which is always welcome.

Plenty of fight scenes. Kept within MA 15+ restrictions to increase audience

Perhaps not for the hard core Zombie movie enthusiast

Well done people.

A good effort.

Thanks

Fantastic for its low budget!
jj-2751313 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Great action movie on a tight budget!!!

This movie is fantastic fantastic fantastic and unpredictable!

It doesn't follow the repetitive clichéd 1st act 2nd act 3rd act blah blah blah…

It doesn't get bogged down with stupid scenes of extraneous dialogue blah blah blah! lets explain everything to the audience they don't have a brain blah blah.

It doesn't get bogged down with dumb clichéd back stories!!!

It doesn't get a stupid boy kisses girl and suddenly falls in love for no reason than walk off happily together into the clichéd sunset blah blah blah!

It doesn't get bogged down with crappy slow mo's and one stupid over used wide camera angle to capture crappy over choreographed fight scenes you see in today's movies blah blah blah!!!

The fight scenes are completely off the cuff. They feel real, intense and unstaged.

You get excellent edits and interesting camera angles which lend the movie to a more modern way of experience. The action scenes are a mix of old school martial arts films and the Bourne films.

You get excellent gun action sequences!

You get a completely unpredictable story and ending!

You get an epic end fight scene between hero and villain!

You get an epic battle between Black Ops men and Zombie Ninjas in the opening car park breach!

You get a completely new deranged killing machine in the zombie ninjas and quiet disturbing in their erratic movements!

You don't get the same slow useless boring repetitive dumb zombie hordes you see in every damn zombie movie where the outcome is the same over and over again blah blah blah!

I could only imagine if the filmmakers had a bigger budget what they could achieve with this kind of action genre.

This movie is very unique and original and unlike anything you have seen.

Really good production values for a tight budget!!!

This movie does suffer from mediocre acting at times but you can see past that cause there is something else going on here. Something special!!!

Now to all those brainless artless idiots giving this movie one star out of hate or jealousy, shame on you! This movie deserves more love considering its lack of budget!

If you're a true action fan and crave action than this movie deserves your attention my friend.

So check it out!

Loved it

Warning: Spoilers
What do you say about the birth of a new super nemesis. In today's movie world people rehash and rehash old characters to death. This is a new one! It's different, it's the beginning of a new action (I wouldn't say hero)more of an evil nemesis, lets just say you certainly don't want to bump into these guys in a dark alley. I found I was feeling the hits in some of the extreme and violent clashes. It was a great Experience to watch. The acting is raw, they are very believable. No its not a blockbuster budget, in reality most good films aren't, this is the vision of its creator and its good quality, special effects are good. I think You need to realize this is a new super villain that is pretty hard if not impossible to kill; it's a new form of Zombie, one that you need to be really afraid of! You can't out run it, you can't kill it and it's not going to stop until your dead. The slow zombie movies have their place; so too does Zombie Ninjas. Enjoy being part of history in the making. Zombie Ninjas is here Be afraid! Be very Afraid!!

Lot's of fun
actionagogo25 October 2015
Every once in a while a movie comes out that is just made for you. You hear the title, or you see the trailer, and everything just clicks. Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops is one of those movies. I mean, how can anyone screw this recipe up?

Zombies that are ninjas.

Bad ass Black Ops dudes.

Both going at it for survival.

Yes, this is just about everything I could hope and dream for wrapped into one big movie. But can it live up to its (incredible) promise? Let's find out.

The film is directed by Rody Claude. This is his second feature, after making the film Deadtime. The story is a simple one. A Japanese security firm has been experimenting on dead soldiers at a research facility located in a non-descript tower in Australia. A party is going on and Dillon (Adam T Perkins) is called in for a late night interview to work security for the firm. But all hell breaks loose when a young scientist named Mali (Kira Lee Caine) wakes up the soldiers. A Black Ops team is called in to neutralize the situation but by the time they show up it's clear that there is more going on here than meets the eye.

From the very beginning you know this is going to be one intense movie. It goes right to the action, showing you just how ruthless and capable these "Zombie Ninjas" can be. Headed by the Zombie Ninja Boss (UFC heavyweight Soa Palelei), they show no mercy and are unlike any zombies you've seen before. From the wild performances to crazy stunts you'll be dropping your jaw at some of the stuff these zombies do. If you think about the sheer number of zombie films out there it's all the more impressive that they were able to pull off a unique take on a classic villain.

But what about the other side of the coin? Those brave Black Ops soldiers sent to kick ass and take names? Adam T. Perkins is an obvious highlight. He gives a very subtle, tough performance and manages to portray Dillon as a sullen hero despite what little time is given to his introduction. Jason Britza also stands out among the Black Ops soldiers for his snarling performance as "A.K." While we're on the subject of acting we need to discuss Soa Palelei. He does get top billing, and the other zombies to a great job, but Palelei is a nutcase throughout and his absolute physicality comes through in his fight scenes, which are some of the best of the movie.

And that is saying something in a movie as chock full of action as this one. The fight scenes go on and on. Bullets are flying left and right and all manner of beat downs commence. It's beautiful.

Is it perfect? While the movie has Die Hard dna written into it there could have been some more humor dotted throughout to fill some of the gaps between those epic fight scenes. That may have gotten in the way of some of the horror beats you have here, but it also would have been a welcome diversion. There are also some wooden performances that creep in as well.

However, those are relatively minor quibbles compared to what is going on here. If you you've been paying attention, it's been a good year for movies coming out of Australia. Between Wormwood and Mad Mad: Fury Road I thought I had my fill of crazy films from down under, but Zombie Ninjas vs Black Ops fits right in there nicely. This is an action movie for the Call Of Duty generation, where people aren't scared to mix genres and ideas just to see what happens. In this case, what happens is an entertaining balls to walls slugfest from start to finish that manages to do something very rare in this day and age: do something fun AND original.

This is a hard theme to play, but they did a good job. While I haven't watched the film entirely, I totally support what is going on with this film for few reasons: 1> Black Ops is tough. 2> Zombie Ninjas are even tougher. 3> It's far out enough that is worth a 10. 4> There are naturally lots of haters on this genre. 5> This genre is new. 6> Cant wait for a sequel.

Make sure to join the fan club if you wanna get a nice t-shirt!

Loved every minute!
loubloom-5576128 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is crazy good with great run and gun action sequences and plenty of suspense.

The film is action packed from the opening scene to closing credits and very intense. It never lets up.

It lived up to the amazing title and what a title it is.

It is done very well considering its low budget and at times it looks like a blockbuster.

The filmmakers left it open for a sequel and I eagerly welcome one!

I hope they get a bigger budget for a sequel which would allow for destruction of their surroundings and better zombie make up.

A great effort.
