Entertainment value only

These investigations are a lot like Ghost hunters....only with stuff happening....

I'm amazed at how much they "find" during their explorations and investigations. Evidently, ghosts are a lot more active now and less camera shy than when Ghost Hunters was first filming. The first movie that I personally watched, seemed plausible enough until they found a glass with a guy's name and some X's and forgot to mention that the current owners had not reported any issues for a long time but suddenly during the investigations stuff happens. I thought I'd watch more videos to see what happened but the more I watch the more of a waste of time it seems. At this point, these "documentaries" are like scooby doo but for adults. I don't find the investigations credible. If you are going to watch....do so for entertainment purposes only, nothing more. There is NO WAY that the number of events they capture is possible unless Saginaw is quite literally the most haunted place on earth.

Getting teeth pulled is more enjoyable that this movie

Warning: Spoilers
SOO many obvious issues with this movie. "Actual footage" scenes were an joke and completely and utterly awful. I can't believe that there are ANY positive reviews for this. The lighting and cinematography is unprofessional and laughable. It kinda feels like watching a SNL "Ghost Adventures" skit. The narration was atrocious, done by the main "investigator," who tries way too hard to be like Zak Bagans. The ending made no sense and I'm over the "investigators" kindly asking the ghost to leave. It obviously isn't going to work and has never worked in the history of documentaries but at the end they act like it worked. If the family really only had to say "Hey man, can you leave us alone" what was the need for the investigators- thats essentially all they contributed. This documentary was a complete embarrassment to all of the entertainment industry.

Save Your Sanity,

Warning: Spoilers
I knew what to expect going in...a YouTube type of paranormal ghost hunting video with a couple of serious sounding men and a ton of missed noises, knocks, taps and voices. I wasn't expecting such an annoyance of acting and sound effects however, and there were so bad and soooo annoying that I couldn't watch this with sound on, just captions!

There is a wee bit of music used for atmosphere, but it's grossly atonal and horrid. They use what sounds like a gun shot between scenes though and THAT is far too much, given the frequency of scene changes and the volume here It completely removes your interest in the entire movie. In fact, all sound effects of this type will drive you crazy. Riding the remote and trying to hit volume when you think these noises are coming doesn't work...Ya gotta be FAST!!

Terrible actors speak in monotones and I notice this more often in females so I wasn't surprised to hear it from all of the female characters but I laughed out loud at the Mother when she was speaking to the camera about things that had been happening. In an effort to sound casual, she says 'Um'...a lot...EVERY FOURTH WORD ALOT!!!! At that point I gave up watching, it had become absolutely unbearable.

I gave it a far too generous 1/10.

Wish there were negative stars to rate this "movie" it's sooo bad, that I now need Prozac to cope. No plot, no storyline, it looked sooo fake and the acting was terrible! What a waste of time.

Not bad but what happened after?
jdiraffaele-0301516 December 2020
It wasn't a bad documentary, they had some spooky parts in the house. I just want to know what happened after they buried the tool? Usually it would say after shows of the Paranormal what has happened to the family after the show. So that was the only blemish that I think they could have done better. Overall pretty good documentary.

Fake!
jensenj-9814518 October 2017
So obviously fake. How can they even try to say this is real? The Blair Witch Project was more believable than this low budget fake. This movie must have been made by first year film students. Multiple scenes of "paranormal activity" that they probably could have saved money not doing; they are digitized scenes using outdated programs making it look cartoonish in movement and appearance. It would have been way better and may have liked the movie if they didn't try to lie and call it a documentary.

What a shame...
briggsheidel29 November 2022
This one was really a shame. I felt the home was truly haunted and would have made a great show but the theatrics and ridiculous behavior of the "experts" was outrageous. The family was very genuine and sincere but the paranormal experts were not credible in any way shape or form. "Back Off" isn't a term any spirit from that era would have used, and further, the way they threatened, menaced and then cajoled the "spirits" was simply not credible. I think the house is definitely haunted, but this family was terribly let down. I frankly don't believe these guys have a paranormal sensitive bone in their bodies.

I actually enjoyed it
vacarre8 December 2018
I randomly picked this while looking for a horror movie to watch on Prime. I thought it was another ghost adventure knock off, but this was better. They didn't jump and scream when they heard bangs and whispers.

Boring
vmalast11 October 2017
While recuperating from back surgery, I've been watching a ton of horror movies. I have now reached the bottom of the barrel. I REALLY don't understand how this flick received more than a one star rating. Slow plot, documentary? Watching paint dry or watching grass grow is much more interesting and exciting. I should have guessed with a nickname of "Prozak", what to have expected.

One of the fakest 'documentaries' you'll see
Leofwine_draca23 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A HAUNTING IN SAGINAW, MICHIGAN is one of those 'mockumentary' pictures, in other words a fake documentary that's determined to make you think it's the real thing. It has much in common with the ghost hunting genre of reality television which has been so popular since the turn of the millennium. A guy sets up cameras around his supposedly haunted house and films lots of inexplicable events. A lot of it is filmed in night vision. The FX of moving furniture and the like are quite laughable and the acting is hardly better; convincing this ain't.

Entertaining but explainable
picturedtostitches201311 December 2019
Prozac and co do another good job, however, a lot of the phenomena can be explained by people just out of frame manipulating objects, people behind doors switching lights on and off. A good investigation but the phenomena is not investigated enough to make it believable for me.

Enjoyable viewing...however.... Warning: Spoilers
I've watched all the films in this series. Always with an open minded sceptical view. Few things I can't explain like the reactions of the fish and terrains. Some things can be explained with wires, cleverly placed crew members or just plain acting. I do like these on the purely entertainment value and will keep supporting these films

Just to let you know
sspencer-6093220 September 2018
The night vision is because you can't see anything like that in broad daylight or in light or you would see them all the time. That is when a spirit is more active, in the dark.

Very good!
jensway-1357221 April 2024
I love Steve Shippy... I also feel that there are some investigators that don't have that touch. Steve is awesome and I love all his stuff! Keep up the good work Steve, looking forward to more of your stuff! My sister lived in Michigan, that state has a lot of haunted places. In this documentary there is good investigative work and tools used to find the haunt. It was over several days in which was properly documented. Steve then made sure that he helped the family and not only brought forth the haunting to be recorded! I wished it was longer is the only thing I would have done differently on this one! Great work "Prozac"!

Watchable paranormal group movie/documovie
jbrbsmom4 February 2020
This is one of the earlier films and it has the crew coming across as reasonable and skeptical people. Some better editing on their part would have been nice....I personally prefer to see things rather than hear people drone on and one about what happened....jump to the point with some of the dragging storylines the homeowner was weaving. I find it hard to believe that in several weeks of shooting the most interesting thing that happened was Prozac droning on about ghostly forgiveness for about twenty minutes...wake me when those monologues end please. But, he does have a great voice.

They slowly introduce some of their more far fetched theories and it is hard to tell how much validity they are putting on which thing. They call on Brian Harnois, who is NOT an eloquent speaker and sees a demonic crisis everywhere, with his wide eyed shocked looks, telling families soothing, calming things like " f&$ no I would never live in YOUR house with all them creepy demonic entities you have there."

So, there is a good mix of personalities, theories, investigating and even some so so evidence. The really interesting things that happen, like a freezer door opening all by itself, they completely IGNORE because they are all passing around a photo of a smudge and trying to see if it could maybe just possibly be a shadow figure...as opposed to the shadow of a figure.....

Good entertainment if you go for this type of show. This is better than most. Jury still out on how much of the humor is intentional....
