Very entertaining and informative
debijohess13 November 2019
What an unusual and informative doc! I loved the extensive interviews with people across all spectrum's of feet related hobbies, businesses, fashion and more! I really learned a lot, even a new kind of toe sock that is revolutionizing running, to minimalist foot wear that's akin to going barefoot. It covers a lot in a clever and informative way. Give it a watch, it's not only entertaining but eye opening as well!

We're going to walk these streets with perfect feet!
michelleeliseharding26 March 2020
Their theme song is going to be stuck in my head for weeks! I really enjoy documentaries, and this one is a gem. It is on a topic that people don't usually like to highlight -- feet! As someone who has had two foot surgeries, I know mine aren't the perfect pair. This is such an interesting deep dive into all things feet -- from the importance of health care to the historical binding of feet to marry into a wealthy family. It kept my attention and was truly intriguing. It was humorous, compassionate and educational. There are some production quality shortcomings when it comes to audio and camerawork, but I thought it was edited very well, and the music supported the documentary in a great way. Overall, truly a great film. I would recommend seeing it!

Pitch perfect documentary about a part of us we all keep hidden
Cmiller759 November 2019
This documentary is an informative and fun way to scrutinize a body part that is severely taken for granted (and that many of us want to keep hidden) ... the feet. The host goes on a cross-country journey in which he interviews athletes, scientists, dancers, doctors, models, and a host of others to inquire how their various professions are impacted by their feet and/or the feet of others. There are some startling facts (a quarter of the bones in the human body are in the feet!) and interesting anecdotes-the nail salon owner who deeply detests feet is a highlight. All-in-all, a pretty perfect doc on an imperfect part of all us.

Perfect feet

Good energy, Love the music. Well shot. Many indie docs rely too heavily on interviews. This has a good visual style and a great use of music. good natured and fun (except the foot binding section, which was really eye opening). seriously though it starts light and fluffy and gets really good. Highly recommend. Calvin is a great personality. Love his narration and how he fit himself into the narrative.

The style reminds me of michael moore a bit. But he definitely is doing his own thing. Will definitely be following him in the future.

This is a fun film about a part of the body that many people don't focus on. Having feet issues I found this fascinating and both informative. It really helped me understand the options of what I could to help my high arches and feet. I loved all the different perspectives and what people shared about there feet, personal and funny.

A Perfect (And Entertaining) Education
TheAll-SeeingI16 November 2019
Let's stipulate that a great teacher is made so based on his or her methodologies used in getting the lesson to take; their tactical approach to engaging students in subjects that aren't necessarily at front-of-mind. Elite teaching is also where the wonderful documentary "Perfect Feet - The Movie" so greatly succeeds: Personal passion and niche knowledge converge to draw in the audience, as this film takes the unlikely topic of feet -- absolutely anything and everything to do with feet -- and creates around it a heartfelt and immersive learning environment. This is a surprising and thoroughly engrossing documentary film. It's also a lot of fun.

Calvin Dwight Harris is our host throughout. A former track athlete turned documentary filmmaker, Harris marries both passions here, taking the two innocuous appendages affixed to the ends of our legs and exploring them to the absolute fullest. Distance runners, ballerinas, podiatrists, sock manufacturers, high-arch shoemakers, no-arch shoemakers, nail polish companies, charities providing shoes for the third world -- it's all about feet in form, function, and in the trends and opportunities they've given rise to. Harris goes after it in full, tracking down experts in seemingly every cottage specialty of and relating to feet. Along the way, he dons a tutu, gets a foot tattoo -- all to provide a tonally lighthearted and inspired education that sticks.

When it's all said and done, Harris has inadvertently transcended the confines of his subject matter, creating in us a larger refreshed interest in all things neglected and unassuming. We take our feet for granted, surely -- it's a primary takeaway from the film -- and so too should we look more closely at other common and everyday things as we ask ourselves to more thoroughly question, examine, and appreciate. "Perfect Feet - The Movie" arguably rekindles that greater learning disposition in us. It's a terrific education, and truly reaffirming entertainment. - (Was this review of use to you? Fun documentary about unlikely subject
davidjzellis15 November 2019
This documentary from Calvin Dwight Harris who is a very likeable presence on screen talks about Feet and that may seem odd, however this is a fun doc talking to people like ballerina's. manufacturers of socks and all things that affect our feet on a daily basis, it's a fun and well placed documentary all anchored by the filmmakers wonderful presence.

Who knew?
directortim201212 November 2019
Who knew feet could be so interesting? I took a shot at this documentary because the trailer and reviews were both good, but I was still a tad unsure. Feet? But I'm so glad I made the time. I will never look at feet the same way again!

This film was funny, interesting, and just a pleasure to watch. I learned so much about feet! And now more than ever, I value those marvelous "feats" of nature. :) Really a good movie!

Thoroughly enjoyable
dooqofurl-120 November 2019
A thoroughly enjoyable, sometimes comedic, occasionally a bit serious look at our funny appendages. Right from the get go, this film sheds all illusion of seriousness, yet there's its strength. Through ballerinas and athletes, salon owners and fashionistas, "Perfect Feet" walks the world of feet in ways most offbeat. Thanks for this one! It was fun.

Interesting

I have to admit that I wasn't sure what to expect going into this one but I really enjoyed it. The conversations within were really interesting. Shoe companies, social norms, what's beautiful and what isn't. It was really intriguing. Even if you aren't normally into documentaries I think you might find this one entertaining and educational.

I like documentaries, but I probably wouldn't have chosen to watch one about feet if it hadn't have been from a recommendation by a friend. There were so many interesting pices of information that I didn't know - and it was all presented in a very entertaining way. Kudos to the filmmakers!

Everything about feet
daveh233224 March 2020
Man I never learned so much about feet at once. The filmmaker takes you on this fresh, thorough and serious exploration of the feet, and the significance of these neglected body parts, told through the lenses of pedicurists, toenail polish CEOs, shoemakers, priests, doctors, athletes, models, photographers, tattooists, etc. The music was good and very accessible to watch. You'll come out with knowledge!

This is no small feet
JGReviews12 November 2019
As a big documentary fan, I'm always interested in checking out the new releases, which is how I came to watch Perfect Feet the Movie. This doc is both funny and informative as we follow one man's journey to find the perfect feet. I wasn't really sure how there could be a feature length film about feet, but the film continually brought up of lots of interesting topics relating to the two things that keep us standing: Arch support vs. no arch support, how so many bones are in our feet, how feet are such an integral part of many professions, feet binding, etc. If you like documentaries like me, particularly ones that do a fun deep dive into a particular topic, then check out Perfect Feet the Movie.

Very Impressive
kjs11444 December 2019
Perfect Feet is a first-rate documentary, about a part of the human body that we may take for granted, feet. The film is extensive, and I was amazed at how many people were interviewed and how many topics were covered in relation to feet, modern topics, and historical facts as well. It was very well directed and edited. I definitely recommend this one!

Happy Feet!
mrdigital132 February 2020
Who knew a documentary about feet could move you to tears as well as give you belly laughs, but that is exactly what Calvin Dwight Harris's film does. On a journey from Denver to Haiti to help an organization who shoes the impoverished, to the left coast of America, to his hometown in the Caribbean, Calvin dives into the questions we should be asking ourselves, not only about our feet, but what we should be doing for others. Kudos to this fun, simple/complex look at feet! What else can I say about this film except if I could give it more than 10 stars I absolutely would.

Fascinating look at feet
Smgrte2358607 April 2020
This documentary runs the gamut of different types of feet and gets into the psychology of people who have perhaps less than photogenic tootsies. Really fascinating interviews from all walks of life!
