sweet highschool movie!

I love the first hour of this movie, its about a student name Ju Ran who fall in love with a girl from his high school who will do anything to own her. The first hour is about that, so funny and sweet. Many interesting character introduced throughout the movie although there is actually no good looking cast for woman's eye but their acting as a young actor is really well-executed. For men, there is some fictional high school's girl uniform, an unbelievable short skirt and tight shirt but there is a lot of interesting stuff than that you can enjoy if you ever been in school. Like I said, the first one hour is great but the last 30 minutes is quite slow, when everyone getting serious for the exam. Yeah, its sub-plot is about upcoming exam and that's what they always talk throughout the movie beside their young life. So, this is some kind of sweet high school movie and can make you memorize all your high school time. Enjoy it!

Fun but mediocre

The movie itself is rather fun to watch but the acting and emotional moments are just on par. Nothing special or jaw dropping. It covers topics that feed the ideas of any high schooler Whether they're from China or not.

A Stylish and Sweet Movie

Young Style is a very interesting movie for non-Chinese people, as you learn about the pressure of Gaokao on students. Specifically, the genius Ju Ran, who is 16 in his senior year, and who completely fails Gaokao. So, he needs to retake 12th grade completely, and wrestle with his feelings while studying.

I really like how the movie ends how it begins. The ending shows his character growth and has a montage that gives you a deeper understanding of the loveable side characters. Ju Ran is an interesting main character, and unlike many western main characters, he is mostly silent, and often blank faced. You need to infer how he feels from the context and the cinematography. He's also unique, as he starts off not caring about Gaokao and only caring about the girl he likes, despite literally everyone thinking that that's stupid.

The only problem I had was that the character arc wasn't very clear. He sort of waffles between being studious and not caring, and while that's realistic, I didnt get a feeling of what he actually learned. Overall, pretty good.

Funny Movie

It was a fun enjoyable movie, but I would often get annoyed with Ju Ran. On the the other hand the side characters were amazingly written with there flaws and bonds. Xie xie

I liked the movie and it was pretty good with a good message but I feel that they include some uneeded scenes like the single boys picture.

This movie was definitely worth watching. It was a cute movie and showed how much he should have focused on what he really wanted and needed. I wish he was able to be happier from the beginning but I don't believe he regrets it at all after the year he had to redo.

The movie portrayed how schools in China are well, but I think that the movie was boring. Also I think that if you don't speak Chinese it's a really hard to understand the movie in general.

I thought that this movie gave an outlook on Chinese High Schools. It was fun to see everyone's different lifestyles and compare them to ours. It showed us how different and similar their school systems are compared to ones in the United States.

If you are an English speaker this movie not be the best way to learn Chinese. If you are a curious person trying to learn the school system this would be a good movie for you too see the learning process that Chinese students have to do to get into a good collage. Xie Xie.

Pretty dope

It was a pretty good movie, it gave me some laughs and was dramatic in the parts it needed. It was your typical high school struggle story but it was interesting because of how different the Chinese school system is to the American school system, and seeing how they both compared and contrasted kept me watching. The characters had their depth and the way the were all different which made them all connect and have fun during the movie. Over all it was a pretty dope movie.

This is a great movie for people who want to learn about the Chinese school system. It is a good movie, there are many different types of characters and they all give a good angle to poor and rich sides of China. This movie is emotional, funny, and romantic.

I enjoyed watching it, although some parts were a bit cheesy or boring. Good characters and storyline, but character development was a bit slow and hard to follow. Xie xie!

I would say it's a good movie to watch if you're with a girlfriend. It's a movie with a lot of details and you probably won't get all of them. It's pretty cringy at times but it's not bad. Pretty good production. It provided a view of what school in China is like.

Young style was a good movie and I believe it doesn't gain enough credit for how good it was, it wasn't something that would win over the Hearts of the masses but there are quite a people who can relate to the story even though it took place in China. Young style also showed a good example of Chinese life and schooling, how hard they have to work and what not. Xie xie.

The movie was entertaining though the plot was nothing extraordinary. It showed some interesting aspects of Chinese culture and school life. You learn about the stress of students and how a high school sweetheart can get in the way.

Interesting movie. It definitely showed how the American school system and the Chinese school system differ. Also showed how important the entrance exam is, and how much they study. It also showed how many books they use to study, and how tough the teachers can be. All in all, good movie.
