I see this as a tale satirizing the way in which society treats knowledge as a status symbol rather than a search for real wisdom, and more importantly, a story about how some parents try to live their own dreams and goals through their children.
Despite the cutesy cartoonish aesthetic, the short is filled with lots of black comedy, ending on a rather surreal note, instead of the sentimental or moralizing conclusion one normally would expect.
The conclusion honestly felt a bit abrupt, but it was still amusing to watch anyway.
I still consider T. R. A. N. S. I. T. To be the best work of Piet Kroon.
