Holly's refusal to get on with Susan continues to be a lot funnier than it's probably meant to be, notably Susan's rather naive astonishment that a girl younger than her grandchildren would consider her an old lady.But Holly actually gets some quite cute moments with Karl which probably aren't all deceptive.
We're probably not supposed to find Vanessa as irritating as she is either but instead it's Lucas who gets the sympathy for being stuck in the middle of Vanessa playing bleeding heart and Paul trying to get the biggest win he can out of the situation.
And we see the downside of Imogen pushing Amber onto a guy that she barely knows and doesn't even like.Amber doesn't really have any alternative in the circumstances but it leaves her in a vulnerable situation.It's hard to tell whether the surprise reappearance of a familiar face makes things better or worse for her.
