Fresh take on women centric series

Kumari Srimathi is an endearing Telugu web series on amazon prime which keeps women and their struggles at centre without getting into preachy mode. It is refreshing because it is a pure family show where three generations of family can sit in front of the television set and watch a beautiful, clean narrative of three generations of women at the fore without averting their eyes from the screen in any discomfort.

The protagonist is Kumari Srimathi, played with aplomb by Nithya Menen, carries the series on her shoulders with ease. She is supported by an ensemble of seasoned and upcoming actors, who play their roles without any awkwardness. Particularly mother, grandmother and the 'evil' uncle. Romance is an integral part of the story but stays in the background without affecting the main theme of the story.

Show creator Srinivas Avasarala and his team of writers and director did an excellent job of keeping the script clean with adequate humour thrown in without sermons.

The final two episodes leave an unpleasant taste though particularly the final episode where bringing back a certain character just because so, feels like producers, creators seem prepping up for Season 2 rather than giving Season 1 an impactful closure.

Such a Heart-filled, humorous take

Just lovely series, one of best telugu series watched so far. Direction, the writing, screenplay, cinematography...what not everything were above the par!!! Above all--cast was very apt.all the actors did justice to their role.

Doctor babu suprised with the role and acting.... Even Mahesh, thiruveer, girls who acted as sisters and Gautami garu was looking so beautiful with very subtle innocent role. Raajeswari garu my favorite actress last but not the least Nitya menon show stopper.... Omg.... Babai garu and phani Mani....dorababu....all village ladies have done the best....kudos to the director.

Felt sad when the season got completed. Amazing producers please release the next season.

Can't wait what happens next as Naresh garu entered..

Can't stop talking about the series. Enjoyed ever dialogue of it.

Nithya Menon Back With A Bang!!!

After a long time, I watched Telugu content. The bonus was it featured Nithya! Coming to the series, it's a fresh breeze of air. Perfect countryside story with an interesting conflict, which leads to a series of exciting story arcs. And another apt performance from Nithya lights up the screen. Also, all the other actors have great screen presence.

A feel good story that will keep you entertained and hooked throughout. Don't go by the reviews that state this as an average series. Just watch it for yourself and you won't regret it!

PS: Good to see regional series taking the simplistic route and excelling in the storytelling format.

Absolutely delightful

One of the things that's endearing about Kumari Srimathi is how rightly it balances entertainement and empowerment. In her own humble ways, Srimathi is indeed inspiring and beautiful.

Writing is top notch with no tropes. It's difficult to deal with so many women and a twist of this nature. This was done with so much heart and sensitivity. The writers created it with care and aplomb that I would love to visit Taj Mahal someday and say cheers to Srimathi and her grit.

Thank you for finally making a webseries where I'm having to route for someone who is killing another or where I'm having to watch in closed rooms without mom around. Proudly binged with mom and mother in law. Giggles through the way.

Authentic Storytelling

Every artist in this web series delivered an exemplary performance. From the acting and setup to the storyline, everything is top-notch. While it's tough to single out any one performer, Nitya Menon's portrayal stands out as simply superb. The series proves that you don't need grand elevations, VFX, or other commercial elements to captivate an audience - a testament to the director's mastery. It's an authentic storytelling can be called Masterpiece. Kudos to the writer and director. It beautifully illustrates the significance of relationships, determination, and purity, prompting us to reflect on our own lives. Exemplary Performances.

Below Average

The storyline exhibits certain shortcomings, with a screenplay that feels burdened by contrived elements. The narrative tends to meander, often feeling protracted and unengaging, although there are moments that provoke laughter and touch the emotional chord.

The inventive scenes featuring Nitya as Chiranjeevi from the film 'Challenge' are a commendable concept.

The dialogues are well-crafted, and the performances by all the actors are commendable. While the locations are visually appealing, the production values, unfortunately, fall short of the expected standards for Swapna Cinemas. The music lacks vibrancy, and the editing is passable. Cinematography, though, is only average.

In comparison to a typical television serial, it offers a more engaging viewing experience and can serve as a decent option for casual entertainment.

A witty, clean, wholesome narrative with spot on casting!

As a non Telugu speaker, I finished the entire series in one go. Also to be noted, my genre of choice is crime thrillers and yet, this lovely story drew me in and did not divert my attention for a minute.

At the heart of the plot is a simple storyline and exaggerated subplots or emotional oversteering could have completely ruined the experience, the entire crew including the spot on cast, director,writer, set designer- each and every single person who contributed to the story, stayed true to it and did not let it slip away.

Gautami, Rameshwari,Naresh are veterans with no ambiguities in their ability to deliver stellar performances.

Nithya Menen is a treat to watch in any role she takes on and this one is no different. She plays the part brilliantly and charms away with her infectious smile.

I do hope they go on to build out the second season and complete the very interesting story arc.

Anytime watch series

Classical and humorous series ever watched.. Worthy watching #Nithya menon rock with her acting skills ..everyone should watch this series atleast once in life. The perfect combination of fun and emotions ..#perfect family drama series stuffed with joyous fun and tactics to handle situations..the way to end the series is ambiguous and stay connected and to be awaiting for part 2 of the same..the scenic location used ..and the best part is title song or flute music is just awesome..watching on these on amazon prime gives you delightful experience..should watch in one stroke ..awaiting for second season ..

Superb Story Telling with clean comedy

Being an old timer I was getting ready to watch a movie on Amazon Prime Video, I noticed Kumari Srimathi and started watching. It is fun and lovely to watch and I was hooked on throughout till I completed all episodes. I am sure we have seen in movies close relatives fighting for properties but in this Kumari Srimathi it was clean comedy. The Village side depicted very well with all the actors doing the justice to tjheir roles.

If i need to list, Direction, the story telling, screenplay, cinemattography was excellent. Need to appreciate Producers bringing in such a superb series, Kudos to the producer and all the artists.

Just some message

Nothing much interesting. It is all about comparing men and women in every logic-less situation and it is not made for entertainment but it is a message oriented kind to brainwash some women. Stop spoiling women's dreams with false hopes.. I really admire these daughters(producers) and their journey in the industry and watched their inspiring interviews during Mahanati times, how they did not give up after that many setbacks.. but not every girl is with a rich father to support like in this series.. some good scenes and many other scenes in the series.. Some hypocrisy scenes like in the 2nd episode, we can mortgage Gold which protogonist considers it doesn't have sentimental value but we should not leave the house... 🙏🙏 All to spoil the house and lead to begging on the road ideas only.. could not watch more than 1 and half episodes..

meandering chore with great performances.

Brilliant performances by Gautami and Nitya are marred by meandering plotline that keeps viewers guessing ( not in a good way ) what this series is about.

Series starts with establishing Nitya as rightful warrior trying to win her ancestral house back from a scheming uncle. Nitya's perfomance in the first few episodes as an principled soul with an cantankerous protective shell was convincing enough for me to buy into the plot. But midway through the series the main plot loses all momentum and turns into some sort of cliche love story. It was hard to sustain my curiosity after midway through the series and constant reception of 'unmarried spinster' themes didn't help the matter.

I managed to finish this series but mostly due commitment bias and wating to watch more of Gautamis performance and the hope that they'd give more depth to her character ( they don't) . I felt like creators of this series started with a vague idea and figured they'd weave the plot as they go along. Which is not necessarily bad but they made this obvious to the viewer.
