It's probably a surprise to no-one that by the end of this episode Dexter and April are back together.Why it happens now is anyone's guess. The show seems to throw contradictory reasons at the wall in the hope that one sticks.So we get April helping Dexter with his report and singlehandedly setting his life back on track, then we get a big speech about how they're not codependent, they're soul mates.Yes, that one again.In the final reckoning, it seems to boil down to "They're so cute together!!!!" which seems to be the justification for a stomach churning five minute sequence of them running into each other's arms.
Meanwhile, Brax and Ricky carry on having the same conversation they've been having for weeks.There's a twist in the last five minutes but it's an incredibly dumb one from the sense of both logic and storytelling: Retconning Adam's effective death to bring him back to a show that doesn't need him is foolish, as is the incredibly lame excuse given here for his survival.
The only thing of interest is Indi and Chris' hookup.Even that seems to come out of nowhere with no real build up but it's interesting to see Chris' reputation counting against him as a girl he's actually come to like is only interested in casual sex.
