D&D

Warning: Spoilers
The whole point of sitcoms is to give something different from each episode as well as moving along in life, relationships, etc. Sometimes there is a lot of content and several stories to follow and sometimes it's just one or two things and this episode has one main story, the guys playing D&D.

This has to be one of my favourites if not the best one because Howard as dungeon master does impressions of famous Hollywood stars.

It's OK

Two stories. The girls head for Vegas. The guys play D&D. Raj gets called away. The girls end up on the no fly zone and return to the guys. They now move in on the game. Howard is pretty funny. Eventually things get too serious. The scene with Sheldon and Amy at the end are tedious.

I looove this latest ep of "The Big Bang Theory"-"The Love Spell Potential"

Warning: Spoilers
In a nutshell on this latest ep of "The Big Bang Theory": The girls go to Vegas while the boys play Dungeon & Dragons. Raj, however, ditches the game to go meet Lucy. Then Penny, Amy, and Bernadette show up unexpectedly with an explanation so Sheldon reluctantly has to play D & D with girls for the first time. Howard slays everyone with his celebrity impressions. I'll stop there and just say this was another hilarious and touching ep of this, my favorite show on the air right now, especially concerning Sheldon and Amy and Raj and Lucy. Really, "The Love Spell Potential" is another excellent ep of "The Big Bang Theory"!

Howard's impressions during the game is absolutely spot on! Bonus, the girls are the icing on the cake! One of my absolute favorite episodes. Sheldon & Amy's scene has to be one of the most adorable, Sheldon is a completely different man when he is with just her.

Amazing directing! Made a huge statement in Shelton's self development.

The scene with Sheldon and Amy playing D&D intimately, is beautiful. It's showing the development of Sheldon's character as he finds his own way to push himself through a new and uncomfortable experience. He cares for Amy, despite his emotionally naive way with words. Similar scenarios have occurred before, where Sheldon learns to be in a relationship. Similar previous episodes were typically more comedic rather than the main focus being on making a statement in Shelton's character development. This episode on particular guided us through his transition into a new 'level' in his relationship with Amy, through his own quirky way,

It further shows his independence at problem solving. Compared to Season 7 episode 1, where Sheldon runs to Penny as he has a nightmare, choosing to seek help or comfort instead of dealing with his emotional shake up independently.

Furthermore, in the same episode, Leonard is away and Sheldon seeks comfort in Penny, however when confronted with her pressure to admit to actually missing his best friend, he refused to agree.

However, starting from this particular episode, Sheldon is growing to express his feelings. Another step is expression of Penny hurting his feelings in the following episodes.

Strange episode.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode could have been way better. This is all my opinion. The conversation in the cab is kinda stupid. Then the way the guys act is odd. The d&d game is funny. Especially when Howard does his impressions. The closing is unnecessary with Sheldon and Amy in the bedroom C-.

Too much Amy
GeraltTargaryen12 August 2022
Amy is not just ruining everyone's weekend. She's ruining the entire show. Every scene with her in it is awkward, and even Sheldon is not fun when he's with Amy. I really don't get what the writers see in her. If they need a nerd girl, why not Leslie Winkle? Really wish they can write Amy off the show.

One of the worst episodes ever...
daniellieparker13 May 2013
Please, don't get me wrong; The Big Bang Theory (TBBT), like any show, has some great episodes as well as bad episodes. If I ever questioned myself about how much I like TBBT it happened in this episode. It seemed producers' brains had left the room. Some people said they were going back to their origins... people were wrong. After 6 years on air, a little bit of "evolution" should be expected... they are getting too old to play nerds and some activities just doesn't suit them anymore. If that is how grown-ups look like playing RPG's, I'm glad my chromosomes never had any interest in joining "brave and heroic" groups made of cards and dice.

The Love Spell Potential

Warning: Spoilers
I really like episodes of this show (and in sitcoms in general) where they just stick the characters in a room and let them drive each other bananas, and this is really what 'The Love Spell Potential' is.

It is a thinner episode, you can tell this by the fact that a lot of time is given over to Simon Helberg as Howard doing impressions. As a fan of 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip' it's fun to see Helberg do his Nicholas Cage impression which he put to good use on that show back in the day again.

I thought the final moments between Sheldon and Amy were very touching actually, and their whole relationship has been beautifully played.

It doesn't always get it right, but when it is on form this is a very good sitcom.
