HEADS WILL ROLL INDEED

This episode starts of quick getting right into the action. I must say I enjoyed this episode most out of the series. The connections to the wider (the boys) universe has me eager for the series finale and the boys season 4.

Episode 7 had some epic action sequences, each different one had me fully engaged waiting to see what would happen next. The characters continue on there pursuit to uncover the lies and deception of the woods. It was good to see some of the other characters getting some more screen time.

The whole episode was an impressive one from start to finish and the conclusion was unexpected and had me nervous for what was going to happen. I am really enjoying this series and I am more then excited for what's to come in next weeks episode.

Warning: Spoilers
The dichotomy of Marie and Cate's character development was beautifully presented. Cate's pivotal moment arose when her own mother rejected her out of fear. This critical juncture in her life showcased Dean stepping in to provide the affection and acceptance she longed for, effectively filling the void her birth mother had left. Cate ultimately overcame her yearning for love and approval and embraced the very qualities her original mother had dreaded, evolving into the formidable figure her birth mother had always feared she would become. Dean's death symbolized a defining moment for both Marie and Cate in their journey as super-powered individuals. Marie remained committed to her mission of doing good, shaping her identity, while Cate was marked by her brokenness, setting her apart from Marie. This dichotomy underscores a central theme in The Boys Universe: how superpowers impact the character of deeply flawed individuals. Marie consistently sought to reconcile her guilt and actions, in stark contrast to Cate, who grappled with her past transgressions and found solace in any available means to combat her fear of being untrustworthy and unlovable, particularly in moments of emotional and psychological vulnerability.

Yeah this was pretty dang good.

I think some of the romantic relationships are perhaps the least interesting part of the series, but I don't dislike them either. I don't mind Marie and Jordan ending up together. Emma and Sam's relationship is actually down quite nicely, seeing them both evolve the affirmation they couldn't get as children. But it does feel a bit misplaced when everything else going on in the show is just so vastly different?

Also loved Andre and his dad's screen time together. I wasn't at all expecting that in a universe where things generally don't go the right way for supes.

But the ending was what made this episode for me of course. I genuinely thought Shelley had the upper hand. What a violent, not-totally satisfying ending. I loved that.

I wasn't expecting the twist that Newman and Marie shared the same powers, but I guess the exploding d*** should have given it away😅

Great episode.

S1.E7 - Decent But Not Great [7.5/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S1. E7) My Reaction / Review for Gen V Season 1 Episode 7 ''Sick''. Episode 6 was mediocre and I gave it a rating of 6/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. I don't understand how powerful is the virus they created. Could it kill any supe or just some supes? Shetty wants to kill Supes and thinks that Mallory would help her? Yeah, no way. Sam is very innocent and humble, I like that. Wow, Homelander is responsible for the death of Shetty's family members? That's wild. Shetty killed herself? I didn't see that coming. What's going on? Neuman now has the virus? I wonder why she wants it. What is she gonna do with it? Overall a decent episode but not great. My rating is 7.5/10.

The writing is garbage.

Wow! I'm a huge fan of The Boys, and loved the opening three episodes of this series, but my goodness has this show go down hill faster than a speeding bullet. The writing for this episode in particular is just plain garbage. None of it makes any rational sense, and characters know what we know, just because. I am invested enough to see what happens, but if you haven't started watching this show, don't bother. Were the writers on strike when this was written? Was it written by a gerbil? It is just so terrible. I purely don't understand who could be enjoying this unless you gave no brain cells at all.

Directors are the backbone of the success of any show.
