Carver has to deal with the aftermath of his defense of Stella outside her apartment that saw him end last episode in cuffs. To begin this one, he is bailed out by Stella and Boden and the chief is trying to keep things on the DL so that brass don't find out. Unfortunately, that doesn't last for long, and Carver is in some serious legal and employment trouble. Stella, meanwhile, attempts to reach out to Shep.
Most of the episode is devoted to Brett and her increasing desire to adopt the baby that was left at 51, bringing the whole baby safe box arc to just about full circle. As I predicted back in the tenth episode review. Kidd becoming a mother (single or otherwise - she's dodging Dylan's calls in this episode) will be a good story arc for the character.
Capp is added to the 51 group chat, which has it's own amusing ending.
The biggest nugget of the episode? Cruz, working at the academy, gets wind of some surprising Severide news that is even news to Stella.
