What Somalia needed
fardowsaomar-548354 May 2023
Finally, a powerful story telling! The camera work, the story line, the cast everything is 10/10! Also the issues raised are a reality in the everyday lives of young people. Somalia is majority young people but their voices are often shut down by religious leaders and self clan elders!. Well done to the director And the team for their hard work, I hope those religious leaders who are already complaining get shut down and young people can continue to showcase their talents in acting. Films are one the most powerful ways to send out a message. Maybe these leaders are triggered because they want to hide the truth of the matter. The shut up and don't say anything culture is coming to an end.

i'm in love with this show

I'm a student in filmmaking ,who lives in Finland and this show motivates me always. I'm in love with the way you guys made this masterpiece. My family and every Somali person who lives in Finland loves this show and support it, You've really brought the shenanigans of teen-themed school series into our living rooms. It's like taking a nostalgic trip down memory lane. Subhanallah! I cried every episode but this episode got me the most. Couple of days ago, the director was saying that Zeinab's story correlates with Shukri's personal story. However, every somali person can relate to this episode, it's our story too. She's indeed talking from the heart. I always say, how could I claim somali, if I never saw Somalia? I've been in the states since I was 7, like many of us, I've been told, " Go back to your country" countless times. I can't imagine seeing Somalia for the first time and to be alienated there too. The scene with her friend was devastating, it happens almost every day in our society. It's unfortunate! Thank You Ahmed Farah and Bile TV. You guys are the voice of the voiceless! Hormar wacan, continue the good work walaalayaal ❤ We even have a group chat where we discus about the episodes. I wish you all the love from your fans.❤❤❤

Good but too Western
watersongumball3 May 2023
The show is pretty good, the lightning really captivated me , the story seem to take it's me. It's was just the first episode and they really did a good job, congratulations, I'm a huge cinephile, i really love cinema and seing that my Somali people started investing into this industry made me happy. The first time I heard that a Somali (high level) series centered on students daily and struggle will start soon, i was amazed, i do not except too much. I just wanted to see and to remember some anecdotes of me at that time,i really wanted to identify my self in your show, but to be honest I was disappointed with what I saw. Cinema is a mirror where people see themselves and you guys didn't represent us, No Offense but watching it, was like watching the season 20 of Elite or Wednesday. Why Somali School vibe is absent, let the world see our beauty, we don't have to pretend being something we're not. Yes this show is too Western !!!!
