Worth the watch. Beautiful scenery.

A cute movie for the genre. The female lead was both annoying and appealing. By far the most engaging characters - and probably the best actors- are Ronan Rafferty and Marcus Lamb. The rest of the cast was fairly strong. Dearbhla Malloy did a nice job as the Duchess. The scenery is gorgeous and well-used - made me feel almost as if I'd been on a quick vacation to Ireland. Love that the plot kept moving and that it had an "all's well that ends well" finish. Would have liked to see a little more substance in the female lead's role. That got a little silly and childish at times. I realize that she's supposed to be carefree and unconventional but she shows a good bit of depth towards the end and that should have been developed earlier on. Overall, worth the watch.

Pretty good, despite some lead character flaws

They made the lead too much of an immature brat. It serves a purpose to fuel the plot, but it also makes her an annoying character -- especially early in the movie. If you can endure the lead's childish attitude then there is something interesting here. You can tell this wasn't a Hallmark movie even though it's existing in the same genre. This non-Hallmark status allows the movie to be slightly more realistic in certain aspects and a little less predictable overall.

All in all, I think this is a decent movie to watch. I would be interested to see more non-Hallmark romances that aren't just unfunny romantic comedies.

Wait..... pre marital relations?

Warning: Spoilers
Are you sure this is Hallmark? Pre marital relations? Consumption of hard liquor? Hold me, I'm dizzy.

I'm not complaining. I'm just a bit disoriented.

Luckily, the lead actress, Isabella Gomez, is absolutely gorgeous. I mean smokin.

I also love all the real Irish accents. It's actually genius to plop a Hispanic actress into an Irish setting.

What more to say? Beautiful scenery, awesome accents and scorchingly hot actors.

Hey Hallmark, it's time to lock Isabella Gomez into a long term contract before GAC grabs her. She is a future star.

So now I have to pad this out to meet the minimum characters.

beautiful scenery, but mediocre movie

The Irish scenery was beautiful. And kudos to the production company for hiring so many Irish actors so we didn't have to suffer through fake brogues. The movie worked great as a travelogue with real location scenery (not Vancouver doubling as Ireland) and real Irish people. But the female lead was a caricature of a hip young Hispanic woman. The wardrobe choices were awful! She should have been wearing a sign saying "Here I am really trying to stick out and not fit in" She was a total cliché. And those 2 pieces of hair hanging in her face over food was gross and should not happen. But PLEASE do the slightest bit of research. #1. Old landed families with hereditary titles are members of the British aristocracy, not royalty. No one curtsies for them or treats a Duchess like the Queen waiting for her to start tea before anyone else may. #2. The titles and estates remain from the centuries of British occupation - the titles are not Irish. Anyone in 20th Century Ireland who styles themselves with a noble title is actually British. Those titles and the estate lands that came with them were awarded by the Monarch - maybe hundreds of years and many generations prior - and non-British citizens can't hold them except through marriage to a titled British citizen (Meghan Markel is addressed as a Duchess, Cora Crawley was addressed as a Countess through her marriage to an Earl) End of history lesson.

Good acting in spite of a poor script.
Avidviewer-028472 December 2023
Another disaster of a script that's saved by good Irish and British actors/actresses, many drama school trained. There is nothing royal here, the story revolves around Anglo-Irish nobility, they are not royals. No woman curtseys or man bows to a duchess, only to a king, queen, prince or princess. Shows how little research writers do.

A more demure Latina would have worked better instead of a loud Hispanic American, Isabella Gomez's character is a disaster. Ruairi O'Connor is great as the very sexy cad, he's a drama school trained actor to boot. I understand that actors need to earn money so they take parts of less quality, that's the reality of the acting profession.

Beautiful location in Ireland.
