Charming take on the twin dilemma
paaskynen19 May 2023
Of course, the dilemma faced by identical twins when romance comes between them, has been done many times before, but this charming Thai film gives it a fresh setting. The young actress who plays both sisters does an outstanding job of giving each her own personality. (This would naturally not have been possible without the stand-in who plays the other sister in scenes where split screen was not an option.) The story unfolds in a mostly urban environment in the year 1999. The fallout of the Thai economic crash of the late 1990s and the hullabaloo about the turn of the millennium, as well as the fear of the Y2K problem sparking the end of the world play in the background. The story does not need any beach settings or tourist attractions to hold the viewer's attention. It is the interaction between the sisters, complicated by their first crush and financial strain on their family life, that carries the story forward. I liked it.

A truly beautiful and realistic film
khemass15 August 2023
As a Thai, I have to say this is one Thai movie that I am proud of. The story was beautifully told with wonderful performance from the cast, with an ending that is not "soap-opera" or "Hollywood" style. It ends the way it should ends, heartfelt and bitterly sweet.

This is a story of twin teenage girls living with parents who always fight and are about to divorce. They hang on to each other and love each other deeply. Until one day, a boy came into their lives in a situation that is hard for both of them not to fall in love and it's hard also for the boy to understand himself who exactly in these two that he loves.

Besides really good acting from the kids, both the boy and the girl (the twins are played by one girl), I must say that this story is so real that I couldn't help imagine that it could be a true story, a memory of someone's first love. Passionate and complex feelings for girls this age, complicated bond between the twins, and confusion of feelings that could really happen to anyone in such a situation, and the final decision of the boy, are artfully and clearly depicted in this film. The director has eyes for details of feelings that you could see slowly built up in characters, something that we all can relate to for it can really happen like that in real life, in our youth. The cinematography is beautiful and Northeastern countryside of Thailand is filmed very well. There are symbols and deeper meanings if you look for. It is a movie that can bring you tears of joy and gives you things to think about. If you have a heart, you'll love this film. If you have twin, you will really, really relate to this film. (My friend who has a twin watched this film with me and she said that the movie shows good understanding and real nature of relationship between twins.) I highly recommend this film.

The beauty of the film and the feelings are fantastic

A beautiful movie in the truest sense of the word. The amount of feelings that exist is imaginary The complexity of feelings and sensations reached my chest I hope that the film reaches the Oscars because it deserves to be highly deserve Because the level I watched was like a movie with a complex and integrated love story I felt happiness, jealousy, and sadness in a movie that I had hoped to see for a long time. The acting was wonderful, the story was beautiful, the events were in two hours, fast and interesting When the movie ended, I clapped while my eyes shed tears, and I just said woooooow.

A Performance That Missed the Mark
piyaster18 November 2023
In the world of cinema, the ability to inhabit a character and bring them to life is a skill that sets truly great actors apart. Unfortunately, in the film, the lead performer's inability to fully embody her role leads to a disappointing viewing experience.

From the moment the actress appears on screen, it becomes evident that she is struggling to connect with her character. Her delivery of lines feels forced and unnatural, devoid of the emotional resonance that is crucial for creating believable performances. Her facial expressions are often blank and unreadable, and her body language lacks the nuance and spontaneity that would bring her character to life.

This lack of authenticity permeates throughout the actress's performance, affecting even the most basic interactions and emotional moments. Scenes that should be filled with tension and pathos fall flat, as the actress fails to convey the weight of the emotions she is supposed to be experiencing. Her portrayal remains superficial and unconvincing, leaving the audience detached from the narrative and unmoved by the character's struggles.
