Tricky subject matter clumsily handled

So here's the premise - a rich lawyer adopts the son of his best friend following a murder and brings him up alongside his own daughter. Roll on a few years. The boy is a star pupil and has grown to be the spitting image of his late father. We find out that the rich lawyer had an affair with his late best friend and now finds his adopted son sexually attractive. Trouble is - the adopted son has fallen in love with his 'sister'. This is a delicate storyline and requires some expert acting. Herein lies the problem. The two main leads are very wooden and unsympathetic. And the film drags its heels at a snail's pace. The only saving grace is a star turn from Dimples Romana as the tortured wife. A disappointment.

Definitely worth watching.

It is a bit of a complicated and difficult story but it is presented with sincerity and emotion. The story can be a bit melodramatic at times but it is still well executed. Jake Cuenca and Sean De Guzman are believable as the handsome yet tragic lovers. They do an excellent job of portraying the turmoil the characters are feeling living closed lives, doing what society expects of them but yearning to live their truths. Dimples Romana is wonderful as the passive aggressive and tragic wife. She portrays the perfect wife and mother yet it is all a facade. Deep down she knows the truth and swallows the bitterness with a smile on her face.
