Björk wrote a Facebook post about being sexually harassed by an unnamed Danish director, saying “it was extremely clear to me when i walked into the actresses profession that my humiliation and role as a lesser sexually harassed being was the norm and set in stone with the director and a staff of dozens who enabled it and encouraged it.”
Björk has few acting credits to her name, with most notable being Danish auteur Lars von Trier’s “Dancer in the Dark,” for which she won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000.

Rock star Tom Petty, who died Monday at 66, left behind a legacy of songs that reached inside and stirred the soul with a combination of frustration, wistfulness, rebellion, cynicism, elation, and restlessness. But Petty also might be remembered for some of the most iconic music videos of the 1980s — the heyday of MTV and VH1 as TV jukeboxes.
Petty’s landmark work included 1985’s psychedelic “Don’t Come Around Here No More, and The Atlantic digs in pretty deep into the backstory to how the song and video came about, which was inspired by an encounter between the Eurythmic’s Dave Stewart and Stevie Nicks.

Let's get this out of the way first: no one can be the next Michael Jackson. What he did with his career was groundbreaking and extraordinary and paved the way for many of the pop acts that we're all currently obsessed with. Still, it's hard not to notice the similarities between the King of Pop and Bruno Mars. Although Justin Timberlake and The Weeknd have also clearly channeled Michael throughout their time in the spotlight, the "That's What I Like" singer has followed in nearly the exact same footsteps of his idol on his way to pop stardom. While Michael's throne will remain untouched, even Hollywood legends like Frankie Valli agree that Bruno might just be the next best thing. Dua Lipa is showcasing herself as an artist who is talented in numerous aspects of the pop game. While her hit single, “Blow Your Mind (Mwah),” takes a conventional mainstream approach, she turns things up a notch on the soulful new track, “Room for 2,” proving that no two tracks on her upcoming album are going to be alike.
While she keeps a heavy dance vibe on a lot of the songs that we’ve heard so far (“Hotter Than Hell,” “Last Dance”), “Room for 2” is diverse in all of the best ways possible. It’s a slow build throughout, and the real instrument here is Lipa’s vocals rather than what is going on the background – but the piano that chimes in midway through helps the track grab its own identity even more.

Pretty Little Liars - it's just like reuniting with your old school friends, except one of them's a murderer...
This review contains spoilers.
6.12 Charlotte's Web
Killing Charlotte off in the first episode was a ballsy move for a number of reasons, not least because it removed the most obvious source of old conflict from the Liars' lives. We're five years on, and all of the girls (plus Mona) are still dealing with what happened to them as teens, but Charlotte was a relic of that past that could easily have been the driving force behind season 6b.
Killing her off removes that most physical manifestation of their trauma, but it still lingers. Instead of using her as a reminder of the A mystery, the writers chose to have her become the catalyst for a whole different collection of emotions. She's the victim, the enemy and the malevolent...

2016 is already shaping up to be quite the interesting year for electronic music, and by the looks of things, Steve Angello is getting a head start on playing a vital role in the movement’s transition. His first full-length album since the Swedish House Mafia split has arrived in the form of Wild Youth – and while we were thoroughly impressed enough with what he delivered for Chapter 1 of the effort, Chapter 2 ties it together with an additional layer of conceptual depth.
Angello was somewhat cryptic when he discussed with us his reasons for splitting Wild Youth into two chapters – nor did he provide any insight as to why the tracklist of Chapter 2 didn’t follow that of Chapter 1 chronologically on the full album. By what can be gleaned from what remarks he made, the decision had more to do with the visual content tied to the album than anything else.

After the 5 year jump, there's a whole new Pretty Little Liars, but everything fans love is still present and correct...
This review contains spoilers.
6.11 Of Late I Think Of Rosewood
Pretty Little Liars is finally back, and five years have passed in Liar time since we last visited Rosewood. Smartly avoiding the college slump that has scuppered many a teen drama in the past, it's 2017 and we're jumping straight back into the mystery.
Everything feels strangely familiar, yet nothing is the same. There's still a bucket-load of mystery, shiny hair and complicated loyalties, but there's also a departure from those things we might all have expected this episode to focus on. It's about setting up where we are now, and seems unconcerned with overtly explaining or recapping where we've been.
The girls are still friends, but the 'I saved your life, now you save mine' kind rather...

In the months since the mysterious ‘A’ was revealed back in August, Pretty Little Liars has been undergoing a bit of an overhaul behind the scenes. When the show returns in January, the story will take a five-year time jump to see how the Liars have got on in the years since the revelation.
As for an eventual endgame for the series on the whole – we could one day see a feature film as well. Speaking on Good Morning America, Pretty Little Liars executive producer I. Marlene King has teased the possibility of a movie.
“We’ve got some really big ideas for a great Pll movie,” King revealed, “but that won’t happen right after the series ends.”

Antony I. Ginnane has long been concerned about what he regards as a high level of film illiteracy among many writers, producers and directors, both established and emerging.
And the veteran producer/distributor believes that even among those filmmakers who are steeped in screen history, some have little or no knowledge of the countless classic films produced in the decades before the 1970s.
That.s part of the motivation for Ginnane.s new book, The Unusual Suspects: 104 Films That Made World Cinema, which Currency Press is launching next month.
His eclectic choices range from D.W. Griffith.s Way Down East (1920) through to Quentin Tarantino.s Kill Bill Volume 1 (2003).
Omitting any title produced after 2003, he explains, does not suggest that no great films had been made since then, but rather that the grammar of cinema had already been laid down.
He is quick to point out his list, which includes Alfred Hitchcock.s Vertigo,...

Major spoilers ahead as Pretty Little Liars finally reveals the identity of A in its season six finale...
This review contains spoilers.
6.10 Game Over, Charles
Cece Drake, or more accurately, Charlotte Dilaurentis is A.
With that decision, Pretty Little Liars exploded everything we knew and thought we knew about this show. Cece Drake was not an outside choice, of course, even before the Charles reveal in Welcome To The Dollhouse. As we approached this big finale, she was one of the strongest contenders, and that's without seeing her for almost a full season. People were always going to be upset whomever the writers chose, but with Cece the reasons to revolt suddenly multiply.
I'm not going to talk in-depth about the fact that Pretty Little Liars chose to make its villain a transgender woman. That's been covered by people far smarter and more informed than me and in far more detail.

And they all lived happily ever after … just not in Rosewood. Tom Petty's a popular guy with the younger crowd of musicians. A few years ago, there was a lot of hubbub over the similarities between the Red Hot Chili Peppers song "Dani California" and Petty's "Last Dance with Mary Jane," and this week, Petty's in the news again, this time because Sam Smith inadvertently aped Petty's 1989 single "I Won't Back Down" with last year's hit "Stay With Me." But things have come to an polite end: Petty and Elo's Jeff Lynne, who co-wrote "I Won't Back Down," are now listed as co-writers of "Stay With Me" and will receive royalties going forward.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is the long awaited sequel to Sin City (2005), a film which grossed over $158 million worldwide and became a fan favorite in no small part due to a visual style that bleeds neo-noir like Frank Miller’s artwork itself. Some have said that it is among the most faithful comic book adaptations ever made. Having the original author and the artist of the comic aboard as the co-director and writer didn’t hurt a bit, clearly. Miller and Robert Rodriguez once again team up to direct the sequel. Frank Miller is the writer (and comic book legend). Sin City: A Dame to Kill For also boasts the return of many cast members. Something you might not expect given the nine-year-gap between films.
As with the original Sin City, this one is a collection of short, hard-boiled crime films all intertwined together. Sort Raymond Chandler...

Chicago – When the first “Sin City” (2005) was released – based on the graphic novels by Frank Miller – the conversion of a film to a noir-like comic book atmosphere was pioneering. The sequel “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” has heightened that look, but this time has much less to say.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
With an all-star cast, and leftover revenge factors from the first film, co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller – with a guest director credit from Quentin Tarantino – pile on the quality kills, nudity and extreme gunplay. This plays fine for the 15-year-old boy in all of us, but doesn’t challenge itself beyond that commonality, and the film suffers from a redundancy that starts to draw away even from the super hyper, black-and-white city of darkness. “Sin City” still packs a jolt to the senses, but once the first wave hits, the rest hit the shore with diminishing power.

If you have forgotten a little bit about "Sin City," we can't blame you.
The original film came out way back in 2005, before the onslaught of comic book adaptations, when a time of 1:1 approximations and largely computer-generated backgrounds were something to behold. Since then, we take these things for granted. Not that there's been anything like "Sin City" in the 10 years since it's been released -- it remains something of a technical and narrative achievement, an anthology film that Xeroxed images and tableaus from the comic book almost perfectly and retained its nifty film noir style and structure.
Now, director Robert Rodriguez and co-director Frank Miller (who also wrote and drew the original comic books) are back, with "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," which stars Eva Green (as the titular dame), Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Josh Brolin.
But is it worth it...

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For
Written by Frank Miller
Directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller
USA, 2014
Unlikely as it may have seemed, 2014 has emerged as the year where, among other things, Eva Green proved to be the best part of a rock-dumb green screen sequel film. First there was her turn in 300: Rise of an Empire, and now comes Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She is the eponymous “dame,” Ava Lord, a character so rigidly crafted to the femme fatale archetype as to be a cartoon. Of course, that goes for all the characters in this series, as they are portrayed both in these films and in the comic book series on which they are based. The cast also overflows with corrupt politicians, brassy whores, and down-on-their-luck antiheroes suffering apparent vocal fry, with a towering black manservant and a mute Asian assassin thrown in for good measure.
