So Near Perfect

I did not expect to enjoy this series. To begin with, I seldom enjoy fantasy shows. So I kept giving this a pass until I had nothing else to watch while waiting for the next episodes of Taxi Driver 2 and Divorce Attorney Shin.

I got hooked from the first episode and hardly ever paused. The pace was consistent. The series also touched on a a number of themes and points worth pondering about.

All characters were well portrayed and there wasn't any one actor I would criticize for a bad performance. All gelled well, even those with cameo roles.

And the ending was very satisfying.

Worth your 16 hours, guaranteed.

Korean Drama " The Golden Spoon " is a webtoon live action.

The series is a character drama, thus, it focuses more on its main leads, rather than the romance, which was okay, but, fortunately, didn't overshadow the main story. Rather, it compliment it and was there to add a few touches of emotional frustration.

On the other hand, the drama weighted the family bonds more, compared to any love story. The family drama was on point and was rightfully enough intense.

However, the drama after the first part, got confusing, as they kept adding golden spoons. Thus, it was hard to keep track on who was who, or whom they used to be.

The performances, in addition, were great by all the actors and actresses in the cast.

So, overall, eight out of ten.

Great drama that had me in tears

I loved this drama from the first episode. From the beginning, I was already in tears but that might be just me. It was sad because of certain deaths and I cried so much because of it. I really didn't expect the ending and tbh I didn't really like the ending for the main character but it turned out great for everyone else. I seriously recommend this drama if you feel like crying. I really hated Hwang Hyeondo so I like what happened in the end. I was really shipping Seungcheon and Yeojin but I guess that just weren't meant to be but I loved who she ended up with anyways. I'm sad that seungcheon's mom never knew anything though.

In the first 3 episodes you'll know whether to continue the series or not but this new k-drama just need a total of 30 mins to hooked their audience up. Instantly fell in love with all the characters, all of them delivered their role well also they're new faces so it's interesting to watch knowing that this will give a totally new air of k-drama industry.

At first I thought an hour long episode is such a waste of time but I didn't regret from starting this k-drama, now I'm left craving for more. Don't know what's ahead since it's still showing but hopefully this series won't let the viewers down. Highly recommend viewers to try this too you'll find it interesting in the first few minutes!

Unexpected Golden Drama

I didn't expect this drama to be so amazing. Only 2 episodes and I'm hooked. Yook Sungjae delivers amazing emotions. So impressed with his acting. When he chose this as his comeback drama I really didn't have much expectations. I was so surprised at how fast the scenes go and the how the story line is so suspenseful. I'm excited to watch the next episodes. I hope Yook Sungjae gets recognized as an actor. The rest of the cast is amazing too. The visuals of this crew is just insane. I hope The Golden Spoon wins an Emmy and goes international. Too bad Disney Plus did not make it accessible for international views.

AMAZING drama with UNPREDICTABLE Ending!!

I found the poster of the drama purely by accident on twitter( thank u to whoever posted it haha) Got HOOKED within just a few MINUTES of watching! This has become one of my most FAVORITE Korean drama of ALL TIME and I've watched PLENTY lol. It's THAT GOOD for me. It's HEAVY drama for sure but it's so WORTH your time. The genre is fantasy but it certainly tackles important REAL LIFE societal issues and all we're so WELL-DONE & ACTED. Great cinematography, well-constructed & unpredictable story lines and actors were amazing especially the main lead Yook Sungjae and Choi Wonyoung!!! I would highly recommend!

All the details are amazing and the trailer is very engaging! The script is so well written, the characters are also great! Overall, this movie is very good, highly recommended. I wait to see this movie at the end of every week and until now it is still very good and attractive. Plot twist is super brain twist and innovation every episode makes it very special, when watching the very short series, it proves that the screenwriter has done a good job with the extra details. The actors are not too famous but they have performed their roles very well and are very suitable for the role, the movie poster is super beautiful and has a good vibe.

Hi everyone!

I am the kind of person who prefers to watch Korean movies but not Kdramas. I tried but lost interest really quickly. The Golden Spoon I started watching by accident, I just wanted to do my household chores while something was going on in the background. As a result, the plot from the first episode interested me, that I left all my affairs for later. I have already watched episode 6 and for me Friday and Saturday are the days of waiting for a new episode. I really like the main characters, I feel for them just like I know them.

The idea seemed interesting to me, maybe it's not new BUT! I really started to think, would I do the same if I had a golden spoon? Good family and support from parents, but you constantly think about where to get money to pay for loans/rent, etc...or? Rich family in which you never need to be about money, but toxic with a manipulative father, a cunning stepmother and an abusive uncle. What would you choose? To be rich, but to change your lovely parents for strangers ... is this a worthwhile exchange?

Spoonless Mindset!

The very first scene we were introduced to generic high schoolers that left a sour first impression. Right off the bat we were hammered with the deplorable trope of bullies and rich kids that both were done in the most tacky ways possible. I hated every second but I kept my patience waiting for the fantasy/supernatural tag to kick in and change the scenery. It certainly did for a little while during the first half despite being very slow, especially with the insane 80 minutes runtime per episode. However, the drama started to fall apart around episode 7 and it became an unwatchable piece of utter junk after the insane 10-years time-skip in episode 9. Any potentials it had were evaporated.

The story had insane gaps that were impossible to patch. There are a lot of points to be made about the mystery, secrets, reveals, decisions, and transformations but I would be repeating myself. It was really frustrating watching the golden spoon's rules change and evolve to fit the story's new development and narrative, a very strong sign of amateur writing! It's possible to blame the writers' heavy reliance on the source material and doing the bare minimum to script it. Since the source material is a Webtoon, it wasn't surprising seeing strange behaviors and random elements starting to seep through. It's hard to trust a Webtoon story to translate well into screen without competent writers unless the Webtoon creator was exceptionally brilliant which in this case he wasn't.

The golden spoon- Best drama of this genre for me.

All the actor actresses have done total justice to their characters..even supporting cast is so perfect!!

Like really at some point you may be like woah its complex but its the best part ..honestly the director writer did great huh!! They switch from present past and connect everything in such a great way!! I bet you will be satisfied watching this

And trust me..it has the best ending you can expect ;))

Dont drop it and dont watch spoilers :)

and honestly to do justice with everyone who made it .. IF POSSIBLE.. watch it on disney+ hotstar.. as for indians it only cost you 149 rupees for 3 months ..i mean its so cheap when compared to other platforms!! ;)

Although we like a drama when it matches our mood..but still At last i hope you enjoy it fellow drama lover buddies!!! :)

Born with or aquired?

Brilliant story line, excellent script, first class cast and acting, fine cinematography, directing, editing. What's not to like!

Korean series are no strangers to convoluted plots, this one leads the pack, but the 'convolutions' are logical and at times stunning. The pace is consistent, right to the end. No GOT let downs here.

Politics social classes / barriers, business ethics or lack off, dubious pasts and questionable futures rule the script, all interpreted through inter personal and intra family relationships, with interchangeable parents as the kicker. There I also the mandatory element of occassional violence and frequent corruption.

Greed, social position and pride are the motors, with a nice balance of complex love issues.

Highly recommended!

You dream for free

A student played by Yook Sung-Jae comes from a poor family and seems to resent them for his circumstances. One day he meets an old woman at a stall who offers to sell him a golden spoon that if he uses to eat at another persons house he will become their son. He uses the spoon at the house of his friend played by Lee Jong-Won who comes from a conglomerate family. Once he becomes rich will he chose money over the love of his real family ? It also stars Jung Chae-Yeon who both men have feelings for but once they change places will this change the way she feels. It is a well acted series based on a webtoon and overall is entertaining although certain episodes do drag a little.

Great drama but could be better

Its been a while since the last time i enjoyed watch kdrama and even watch the whole episode, this kdrama is fun to watch since start to the end theres some episode that feels annoying and boring i almost stop watching this kdrama at episode 9, theres lot of cringe scene too, but overall i still enjoy it, especially the first 3 episode its a masterpiece😭 literally masterpiece✨, i've been read the webtoon but this is just somuch better. I like the actor too, i also love the ending its pretty unpredictable.. Would i recommend this movie? Well maybe. Good story but lot of cringe&unecessary scene.

Must watch if you are into Mystery thriller !

I absolutely loved this series!

The morals of the show are so straightforward but also complex when you really think about it.

Love the idea of Golden Spoon, the plot depicts real social problem. There are many interesting plot twist too. All the casts do wonderful job, especially Sung Jae Yook. I like here most is the fact that they proceed with the deep character development of the protagonist. He somewhat has grey shade.

This show has an excellent ending. Generally dramas get a little boring in the middle..but this drama was captivating through out.

I was intrigued by the story and liked the series until the end.

I would highly recommend it.

Missing the plot

People who was giving 10 stars after watching just two episodes make me laugh LOL.i mean come on guys you can't give 10 stars from start ,I know first two episodes was way to good and I was good show but what a big lose ,really I wanted and liked that kind of shoes but direcotor or script written blown up away. And how that happend ..it's because of he forget to change person ,it supposed to be different personalities in different body .

But he changed total person with same face and represented as same person wow .

Maybe he wanted to give or show yuk sung jae more characters or role and here drama was lost .

Script was lost ,story was lost it was useless confusion.

Eg if the person has changed by face completely how the girl still like him .

It's not same person .ahhhh many questions but I closed it after episode 5.that show was ruined.
