Not Just Garbage, But Trash Too
taylormellors9 October 2022
Save yourself the time and just don't put this movie on, however bad you think this is going to be, it's worse.

This isn't a fun bad movie like the Asylum usually puts out, you know the ones, stuff like Sharknado, 2-headed shark attack etc. This is more like dragging your delicate body parts over a cheese grater for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Upon reflection that might be more fun.

The movie is just competent enough to make you think this could be a good film on a tight budget, but is just bad enough in every area to overshoot the "so bad it's good" territory to end up full circle again to just being bad.

TL;DR this film is bad and not in a good way.

Kids movie
jaapeelman16 July 2022
This is a movie for Kids of maximum 12 years old.

Dumb storyline with stupid twists, terrible "special" effects, a whining Thor, annoying statements that humans are even better than Norwegian Gods and Odin who looks like an old rocker who has been drinking to much booze and sniffing to much white powder....

What a waste of time watching this dumb movie and do yourself a big favor: stay away from this big fiasco!

You have been warned!!

Wooden acting, terrible dialogue.
fsdrk8 August 2022
At one point Thor says "It is never too late, to give up hope" as if that is supposed to lift someone's spirits...that had us laughing hysterically. The acting was fairly wooden, script was bad. CGI was decent for frenrir though, better than I had expected.

Another archetypical mockbuster from The Asylum...
paul_haakonsen16 July 2022
Right, well there is no secret here, that I wasn't harboring a single expectation to the 2022 mockbuster "Thor: God of Thunder" from The Asylum. I mean, just take a look at the movie's cover/poster and you know what you're in for here.

And then the fact that the most famous actor on the cast list was Vernon Wells, then you just know that you're not exactly in for a top of the line production here. However, I still opted to give "Thor: God of Thunder" a fair chance, as it does happen every now again on a blue moon, that The Asylum actually churns out a movie worthwhile watching.

"Thor: God of Thunder", however, was not really one of those instances.

The storyline in the movie, as written by Steve Doucette was pretty generic and straight forward. In fact, it did turn out to be as you would expect from The Asylum really. And if you are familiar with the more dubious of mockbusters from The Asylum, then you know what you are getting here.

The acting in the movie was adequate. I mean, you're not in for anything that will harvest any awards, and given the limitations of the script, then the actors and actresses did fair enough with what they had to work with.

The special effects in "Thor: God of Thunder" were somewhat dubious. Now, I will say that this wasn't exactly among the worst of CGI and special effects ever seen in movies from The Asylum. But nor were the special effects particularly grand or impressive.

My rating of "Thor: God of Thunder" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.

DO NOT SEE
justcateyes17 July 2022
This is absolutely the most horrible, awful, tragic movie I have ever seen.. We used a few movie coupon to watch it what a waste.. After 7 agonizing minutes we turned it off.... Actors were C scale.. if that.. why would they want to be associated with this movie in any way..

B movie
gharknes-729308 August 2022
This is pretty bad in every respect, low budget nonsense, I lasted 10mins and that was enough, Iow budget does not always mean bad but in this case - it is exactly that.

Must find the amulet
nogodnomasters20 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Right in the beginning of the film Loki (Daniel O'Reilly) escapes prison and kills Odin (Vernon Wells). Sort of. He goes to California where there used to be Vikings in order to free a large CG wolf that was poorly done. The biggest and dumbest looking guy Asylum could find (Myrom Kingery) goes after him and ends up teaming up with some humans who are eager to help him save the world.

This is not the same film as God of Thunder: Thor although it is just as bad. The props looked like the ones sold on Amazon. Did the script call for a black woman with dyed blonde hair? What happened to the token hot Asian chick?

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

Total Garbage
ernestrx15 December 2022
If there was a rating lower than 1 star, this movie would qualify. Even the mad Max Star of old sucked in this {if you can call it that) movie. From the obvious bad fitting white cap on his eye to his perfect dentures, he was bad. This production suffered from extreme bad writing, even worst acting and armature CGI. If you want to say you have watched the worst movie of 2022, watch this . There is nothing good that could be said about the movie. How can any production company put their name to this torture movie. I sat through it hoping that there was at least something good that could be said, sadly nothing.

An ok movie
ludickeys1 August 2022
Performances and story are ok. You can tell the budget and what not, but for what it is, it's not that bad. This kind of movie are a gateway for up and coming directors and actors. Cheers.

I liked it. Good plot, well acted. Special effects were pretty good too for the budget. We laughed Outlook a few times. We liked it. Would recommend it.

A eyeopener for understanding thor
chiragsharma-283704 August 2022
This film is actually based on Norse mythology and anybody who wants to understand thor and his relatives should see this movie......rather the direction and props were just bad, actors were not that good, unnecessary motivational cringy lines and overall. A bad picture.

Asylum of course.
Lillia538 August 2023
I like Asylum movies.... some of their mockbusters are enjoyable. And sometimes they make really good stuff, like Z-Nation.

I liked Thor: God of Thunder. They managed to tell a lot about norse mythology, so that was a good thing. It's not a good movie, but watchable. Thor was nice and not the worst actor, really. But there was a bit too much of the "emotional" scenes where he cried out his dispair. Myrom Kingery, you did a good job.

The rest of the cast was very uneven. It was fun to see how they waited for their chance to act... to say their lines. It was kind of a lesson in how not to do it. Sometimes it was a bit cringe and Loki was terrible. But I guess I'm spoiled by the "real" Loki, Tom Hiddleston. The hair was good, though. And I can understand his anger when his guards in the dungeon was eating all his olives. I would call on my friend, Fenrir for revenge too.

Vaune Suitt, as dr. Grace Choi was sometimes ok, sometimes... not. But again, the hair was great. There is no need to talk about the other actors. Well, maybe Odin, Vernon Wells. I don't remember his hair, but the eye was very Odin-ish. And sometimes he did some good acting. I think maybe the cheesy conversations made it hard to do a better job.

Lokis staff was looking like it was made by a fourth grader, the eartquakes was obviously shaky camera and Thor, pretending to sit in a viking ship using a tiny paddle thingy was out of this world!

But the tsunami was not bad. At least not as bad as Fenrir who was looking like he had escaped from a cartoon.

All in all, not a bad Asylum movie. The first part was fine, actually. The rest was fun. Like bad movie fun. If you like bad movies that make you smile, this one is for you.
