One of the Best pet lover series ever !!!!!
Good Series for pet lovers . Love the concept of taking responsibility of pets & loving them which is being compared equally to the responsibility of parenting a child.

Heart warming!

Pet Puraan streaming on SonyLIV is an endearing web show on pet parenting. It is a Marathi original which is also dubbed in hindi.

Sai Tamhankar steals the show. Both her and Lalit Prabhakar are fantastic playing the pet parents.

This heart warming show is sweet and adorable as it's pets.

Couldn't stop binge watching this short and sweet series of 6 episodes. All the characters do justice to their respective roles. Sai and Lalit have acted really well and so do Baku & Vyanku. The message delivered through this storyline is very deep. Definitely a must watch!

Beautifully written by Dnyanesh Zoting and very well executed by Sai and Lalit. Aditi and Atul make a lovely couple. You will just connect with them instantly. This short, feel good series deals with modern-day couple issues and also has a beautiful message to give. If you have a PET, after watching this, you will love them more. And in case you do not have a PET, you will want to have one!

Special mention to Asmita Ajgaonkar who plays Atul's mother. I loved her short and sweet role.

I have LAUGHED and SMILED throughout.

Surely a must watch!!!

Surprisingly a good show!

I was not expecting much from this show..as most of the series out there are either pretty boring or filled with immense cliches. This is one i would say surprisingly entertains as well as touches an unexplored topic in Indian television industry and that too in non preachy way. Best thing is episodes are just 30 mins and it's just a 6 episode series..you don't get bore throughout. Highly recommended.. especially to Marathi audience 👍

Breaks Several Myths On Pet Parenting In A Humourous And Entertaining Way.
SAMTHEBESTEST6 May 2022
Pet Puraan (2022) Review -

Neither Bollywood nor Hollywood is old to the idea of pets/animals in films having emotions. I can't describe how much I cried watching "Hachi : A Dog's Tale" (2009) or, to go back to my childhood days, I remember watching "Haathi Mere Saathi" (1971) and "Teri Meherbaaniyaan" (1985) multiple times on television. These three are tragic tales, by the way, while Pet Puraan is vibrant and very difficult. Coming from Marathi cinema, it becomes even bigger and more important than what it is because nobody has attempted it before. The idea of pet parenting is new to Bollywood and Indian cinema too, so you can imagine how advanced Pet Puraan is story wise. This humourous tale of pets and their parents is here to break several myths and multiple stereotypes of family entertainers. Pet Puraan is indeed a nice blend of organic comedy, intelligent humour, a unique storyline, and social goals.

The 6-episode series is about a couple, Atul (Lalit Prabhakar) and Aditi (Saie Tamhankar), who have no plans to have kids. Despite the family pressure, the modern couple decide to adopt pets and become pet parents, which may spoil their careers, reputations, and relationships with relatives. Pet Puraan brings to light the clash in mindsets and priorities between a modern-day, working couple who have a more traditional approach towards what completes a family and what they learn about humanity and pet parenting during the process. I must say, this is a very unique idea, even though it's not really outstanding. It has those typical flaws, but recovers quickly from the damage and comes back on track to keep your ride steady.

Lalit Prabhakar is one of the most versatile actors in Marathi cinema, and he brings something new to the table every single time. He has done comedy, drama, and biopics earlier and has played many different roles, and with Pet Puraan he continues his fine innings. He brings another new character and a new concept and does a big talk through his acting. Atul is just like any other average working class man, but his thought process is different. His yearning for the pet, a dog actually, I mean like - whatever happens, I must have a dog pet - kind of things add so much reliability to the character and how effortlessly he does it. Saie Tamhankar, I believe, is one of the most underrated actresses of her time. I mean, many people have failed to understand her potential. I remember hooting at her entry scenes and dialogues in commercial blockbusters like Balak Palak (2012) and Duniyaadari (2013), but the glamour portion overtook her acting talent. The same happened with many of her films that I shall avoid naming here, but then came films like "Girlfriend" (2019), "Dhurala" (2020), and "Pondicherry" (2022), which gave a perfect stage for the actor in her. Although the films weren't that great, I liked her performances, and now I'm happy to say that Pet Puraan just surpassed them all-even though it wasn't a challenging role physically or mentally. Aditi is nothing extraordinary. She is very simple and common from the outside, but on the inside, she is a tough nut. "Kiti cute ahe ha," she says with that accent, and my heartbeat almost stopped for a moment, and she goes on saying the similar dialogues again and again, causing several semi-heart attacks. Look at her accent, look at her dialogue delivery, look at her attitude, look at her beauty, look at her cuteness, and overall, just keep looking at Saie throughout the series and you will be highly impressed.

The supporting cast of Pournima Manohar, Asmita Ajgaonkar, Rushi Manohar, Deepti Lele, Kshitij Date, Rasika Agashe, Satish Alekar, Ninad Gore, Aarav Khot, Sneha Majgaonkar, Ketan Visal and others are good in their roles. Talking about the technical aspects, Pet Puraan seems like a well-balanced flick. The pre-production work has been done with great effort and it shows up in the post-production results. The writing is top-notch as far as breaking this new idea stuff is concerned. What impressed me the most was the dialogues. Pet Puraan's dialogues have such a unique and intelligent humour that I haven't seen in any Marathi film recently. Every dialogue has subtle humour, whims and social speeches against animals. This certainly challenges pet parenting myths that haven't been broken yet, and that too, in such funny ways. Yes, it was over the top in some scenes, but that doesn't harm much because it's a believable story anyway.

Pet Puraan is by far Dnyanesh Zoting's most entertaining and mass-friendly flick to date. He comes out of that intense and dark world of his previous works, which was very difficult for family audiences to understand, and I hope he continues doing the same. I am not sure how many people can really understand the metaphors and deep thoughts here, but they will surely enjoy the fun ride. The comedy is organic and easy to understand, and so are the characters. That little flawed drama could have been avoided as they were really making a fresh film, but let's just forget that. As a whole, Pet Puraan is a perfect blend of a new concept, drama, comedy, emotions, social awareness and self-realization.

RATING - 6/10*

Scores high on relatability! A must watch for prospective pet parents
tkmce200826 May 2022
Written and directed by Dnyanesh Zoting (Collar Bomb), Pet Puraan is a legit series that talks about the reality of adopting pets.

Just 6 episodes long, Pet Puraan is the story of Atul & Aditi, a couple living in Mumbai. With mounting pressure from family (to have kids), Atul & Aditi decide to adopt a pet instead. But they get more than what they bargained for as they end up with a cat and a dog.

Lalit Prabhakar & Sai Tamhankar play Atul & Aditi; a very likable couple living a tension free, kid free life in Mumbai. They are the heart and soul of the series (pet lovers may argue that the animals are, but I beg to differ). The fact that one is a cat lover and the other a dog lover is so relatable! Keeping the animal company on its first night at home, the society & family creating issues due to the pets and countless more incidents make Pet Puraan a delectable affair.

Pet Puraan is a must watch, especially for animal lovers. There is so much one can relate to here and to watch all that unravel onscreen is a delight!

Fingers crossed for its renewal.

Delightfully Pleasing Watch
indianature17 May 2022
I subscribed to SonyLiv especially to watch Pet Puraan (orig. Marathi w/Eng. Subs)

This is a delightful tale more so for animal lovers. Its amusing, lighthearted, flippant but not slapstick, and the pet animals are ever so cute.

Atul (Lalit Prabhakar) and Aditi (Sai Tamhankar) are a happily married young couple without kids .. by choice. So obviously in India this means they would be and they are hounded by their respective families and friends to "do the honours" asap. Their best friend Parag has a pretty cat Godakka who has 3 ever so cute fluff ball kittens which he offers to AA but they decline. But not long thereafter they become desperate to adopt a pet dog, in particular a Golden Retriever. To cut a long story short, they end up becoming "pet parents" to a shelter dog Vyanku (Golden Retriever) and a stray kitten Baku.

The narration continues with dollops of humour with its quirky characters and its varied twists and "tales" :-)))

Watch to enjoy for yourself.

Episode 1 is slightly dragging but the remaining episodes of S1 keep you amused and with a smile on your face throughout. Good acting by all and the animals are of course the real stars of the show.

I enjoyed Pet Puraan and look forward to further Seasons!

Seriously What is this?
rajrathod5432121 May 2022
I thought Sai Tamhankar and Lalit Prabhakar will do some good story but what is this!

Timepass story,if this is the thing then just do watch TVF's CHEESECAKE Web Series (Same Plot Outline) 1000x times better than this and also Storyline and Acting is much better.

A delight to watch!
medhamantra-192688 December 2022
Its been so long that I have thoroughly enjoyed a Marathi series. This was such a soothing balm to my tired soul. Everyone has acted so well, that you forget you are watching a series. It feels as if you are living with this really cute couple who are in the midst of making a really important decision - should they adopt a cat or a dog?

Well, they get more than they bargained for and the story follows around how they deal with it and if they come out with flying colors or fail at it.

Sai and Lalit are just perfect. Their chemistry, their dialogue delivery, everything is on point. The other characters are well cast too. But my favorite are of course the 2 totally adorable fur babies - Vyanku and Baku. I fell in love with them instantly.

This series is a perfect watch for a cozy afternoon, when you want to cuddle up next to your own pet and enjoy a well acted, short and sweet sweet story!
