Not bad for a home made movie.
lunarshadows2 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
OK. So the acting wasn't that great. And the effects were even worse. I see why the film is low rated. BUT, beings that this is a film made by the effected people, not professional actors, and the budget likely came from their own bank account, I am going to over look that. I do agree with the reviewer who said that it was hard to get into the emotions of the movie. All except for one instance, when the doctor said that it was all in her head. And then I wasn't sure who I was madder at, the doctor for being such a pompous arrogant jerk, or them! Since this film is meant to raise awareness, I am going to add to that. And just say, that over paid, sorry excuse for a doctor, works for you! Too many people don't realize that any doctor you see, works for you! He is fire-able!If ever a doctor speaks down to you, fire them!Always know that you know your body better than any doctor. I knew what she had long before her doctor figured it out. I was really hoping the movie was going to end with them walking out of the court room with a settlement large enough to ensure their baby girl never wanted for anything a day in her life. And I hope that her husband learned a valuable lesson. Like my mom always has said, the student graduating at the bottom of his class from medical school, earns the same degree and title as the student graduating at the top of his class. Just because they have MD behind their name, does not mean that they are any good! NEVER allow a doctor to treat you that way! That doctor had the bedside manner of a rabid dog, and should have been dismissed and replaced immediately! And I hope that they sued him! He deserves to have his license revoked! As for the movie, like I said, the acting wasn't great, but for being a homemade movie, it wasn't bad. I am impressed by the fact that she wrote a screenplay. Everyone from time to time has something happen and are like, hey, we should make a movie about this. She actually did it. I can only imagine, how hard it is to write a screen play. For a home made movie, made by and starring real people, not a Hollywood production, I think they did a good job.

Too important a message to have been let down by the production
clearthinkernow12 March 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Maybe Spoiler: With the public service message at the end and the disturbing facts cited there also, it would have been nice to have seen the story with an improved production. Most of the acting was so bad, you couldn't get too caught up in the emotion of it. Even the "doctor" couldn't pronounce the condition that Mrs. Logan had; he kept calling it "preclampsia" instead of preeclampsia. A better job of presenting her symptoms was called for, for example, she said at first she'd gained 25 lbs. (that was at 16 weeks). Then 3 weeks later at her next appointment, she said she'd gained 15 more and then toward the end she said she'd gained 15 lbs. in just one week. That's 55 lbs. total that we know of and her body did not show that (as a matter of fact, her breasts were not even any larger than they were before she was pregnant). Her belly was shown like a basketball, completely round, like it was just plastered on the front of her. After the baby was born, when we see her husband visiting, her entire abdomen is still huge (larger than when she was pregnant), even though the baby is no longer there. The nurse is ordering tests? Nurses have no authority to do that, only doctors do (and sometimes physician assistants and certainly nurse practitioners). This being a true story (and pregnancy an everyday occurrence) the "unreality" of all these things was so distracting that the connection to the suffering mother was not there. It detracted from the important message attempting to be sent here.

Movie was extremely cheesy but the message should not be ignored
gcodougan11 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It was very hard to look pass the mediocre acting, the flat affect of the actors and the unbelievable setup of scenes. It didn't feel real. As a medical personnel (nurse), it was hard to watch the doctor ignore very classic signs of preeclampsia! I was mortified and that was pretty much why I continued to watch the movie because I was curious about the direction the movie was going. Ladies, if you feel like your doctor is not listening to you, PLEASE CHANGE YOUR DOCTOR. Even if your pregnancy is termed, change the doctor if you are not happy and if he/she isn't listening to your concerns. Overall, the movie delivered a powerful message.

Heartbreaking

I love watching moving about true events, I feel I need to write this review on this movie. Yes, it's a low budget film and you can tell by the lighting, camera angles, as well as the dialogue. When you pull up the movie before playing you see who the director and the main actors are, so you know right off that it's a low budget firm, and it might not be up to your personal standards. I fully understand where Angela was coming from, sometimes we know something is wrong with our bodies and normal test don't confirm. I've been told something was all in my head by a doctor, so I know just how Angela must have felt. The movie captured the emotions, which made this movie breathtaking to me.

Very Good
valley-354825 February 2016
Breathe was perfect. Even though it is a smaller production film it was not cheesy. Breathe was very entertaining and took me through all the emotions; I laughed, cried, felt in love, felt angry..etc. All the actors did an awesome job. Outside of being entertaining the movies has an important educational aspect to it. I loved to see how the relationships were played out: Husband and Wive, Father and Daughter, Sister and Sister, Artist and Manager. The relationships were overall positive, they may have a little disagreement but nothing crazy. There was minimal drama but enough to make the story interesting and entertaining. I honestly cried during this movie but majority of the time I was smiling and enjoying the film.
