Legacy

Warning: Spoilers
There were a lot of questions about how believable any of this really was, but nevertheless it ended up being one of the best episodes of the season. We need more entertaining stories like this.

Good episode except..,

Warning: Spoilers
The part when McCoy acts like it's a surprise when Price wanted to charge the dad. If this was the first time a case like this happened then I'd agree with him asking "is there a precedent for this?" But because McCoy essentially did the EXACT SAME THING in Loco Parentis!!! So really this episode reminds me so much of it only now McCoy is the DA.

About the Ethan Crumbley Shooter
shelbythuylinh1 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As a teacher got fatally shot and how one teen was targeted as another teen is accused of the second degree murder but the latter happens to have a very rich father with a dark secret.

And that the rich father who is a bully. And may had gotten the gun from his father as the DA and cops may want to charge the father by giving a minor first off a gun.

But the DA needs to look at sacrificing the lesser of the two evils to bring in the greater good caught between a rock and a hard place. You have to see what I mean by this if you have not seen the episode.

More social/political commentary
landont-61-66104529 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I will be honest. I do love the new season's ability to make it relevant to today's hot button issues about politics, liberal vs conservative fighting back and forth, social issues etc etc but I do wish we could see an episode soon with a good old fashioned serial killer or a love triangle murder plot. That's what made Law and Order so good, is that you saw the entire spectrum of crime. But every episode of Season 21 seems to be about social and political issues, at least this episode started out political and then delved into an episode about parenting. And to the above commenter, the father WAS an enabler. He literally gave a minor a weapon.

It's getting better
ArmoBazaar7 May 2022
This episode shows that the staff/writing is getting better. Loving the nypd cast - the prosecutor folks are improving (still too many unnatural hand motions, but better).

I'm hoping that the show continues to find its groove and is renewed.

GET BETTER DIALOGUE WRITERS
shaunaturnbull26 June 2022
Teachers and even students referred to the dead head of school as GLEASON. That would never happen. Yes, the police and DAs might, but anyone who knew the headmaster would have referred to him either as MR. Gleason or by his first name (colleagues and teachers) but throughout the episode everyone just calls him Gleason. There is ONE moment where a student calls him Mr. Gleason, moments after having just called him merely Gleason. So bad. Also, the trope of rich kids openly mocking scholarship kids is so false, old and worn out. PLEASE get a person who lives in the real world to proofread the scripts.

Unrealistic verdict
wildthing2262 May 2022
The prosecution was gonna give immunity to a kid who brought a gun to school and killed the teacher, and who also stabbed a teacher in the arm in a separate incident all in favor to convict the father for telling him to stand up for himself. The prosecution even admitted the kid was unstable and had mental issues and was the victim of bullying.

Also, McCoy was acting like his DAs strategy was unheard of even though he himself had done it multiple times when he was a DA.

And the whole use of the N-word in a song as a good excuse to expel kids from a school is nonsense. It's a detention, nothing more. And Anthony Anderson's character using "it's complicated" about the N-word being in songs and only Black people allowed to sing it out loud is just hypocritical when the correct answer should be that the word shouldn't be used at all.

Warning: Spoilers
This is typical Law and order find away to make the show end in a conviction, no matter how ridiculous the journey is to get there. I really thought the show was going to try and be new and improved but I guess not .. will not continue to watch.

Family Ties

Warning: Spoilers
I'm really wanting to like the 21st season of Law and Order but I don't know, because really what is needed is for the producers to kindly ask Chris Noth to return please to shake things up. Even bring back George Dzundza to play the twin brother of Greevey please. The ending was so unrealistic, as was the journey, and really the idea of the wife testifying against her husband, even though he may have went too far, really.

Anthony Anderson as Detective Kevin Bernard and Jeffrey Donovan as Detective Frank Cosgrove have their usual tete-a-tetes to set the scene and reflect I guess what's going on in school board debates.

haven't we seen this plot before?
TrevorClark1129 April 2022
Pretty much a carbon copy of the Season #10 episode called "Loco Parentis". Yeah, we get it, the dad should know what goes on in his teenage son's life. Doesn't mean he should be charged as an "enabler".

Still trying to figure out what exactly "woke" means, must be some hip new slang that didn't exist when L&O first hit the airwaves.

Sure we have seen this plot

Warning: Spoilers
An episode when a father was tried for his sons murder using a sword, think it's season 9 or 10. And another episode when a dad killed his former wife and brainwashed his two daughters.
