The Cinema Snob (2009)

"Burial Ground: The Nights of Terror"

In this now long-running series, writer-director Brad Jones play the title character, the Cinema Snob, a mainstream or high art critic who decides to review some of the most notoriously bad movies ever made. Since the original episode this series has grown to have a very high cult following and fans from around the world.

This opening episode takes a look at the awful but oh-so-entertaining Italian gore fest BURIAL GROUND: THE NIGHTS OF TERROR, which, as our host explains, goes under several different titles. For the most part this episode contains some very funny jokes and I really found myself having a good time. This is the first episode I had ever watched so I wasn't sure if I was walking into another MST3K type of thing but it's actually much better. I liked the character of the Snob and some of the things brought up in humor are things real mainstream critics would have attacked. Some of the highlights include the discussion of the zombie masks and of course the talk about the "grown" child in the movie.
