A mixed bag this one.The acting's good and some of the dialogue's smart. It's just a shame about the characters and the story lines.The show seems to be latching onto the wrong ones and they're either being dragged out past their sell-by date or just shouldn't have been there in the first place.
That's probably a bit too critical.Miles is well written and acted as ever, with his attempts to put his differences with Casey's family aside.It's a shame the storyline is spoiled by Gina at her two-dimensional and inconsiderate worst.Casey isn't a particularly likable character despite his obvious reluctance to be involved in the River Boys, who are coming across as rather random and interchangeable "bad guys".The scenes showing his and Romeo's newfound camaraderie feel more like Romeo being a jerk than Casey softening.Romeo and Indigo have the second part of their usual argue/make up storyline, although at least there is some sort of discussion in there this time.Dexter feels a bit wasted despite getting the cliffhanger but his little scene with VJ is a nice touch and shows his isolation.
The other part of the episode is Leah learning Elijah is coming back. This is something of a disappointment since, while there's nothing wrong with the character as an individual, he's basically yet another failed attempt to give Leah a believable love interest and it seems that's where we're going again.
