Sex & Nudity

  • The relationship between the two French Dolls, who perform the "Dance of the Reed Flutes" is also romantic. This couple does kiss, but it is very light kissing.

Violence & Gore

  • Just the usual Battle with the Mouse King. There is an added battle with him in Act II. But there is no blood. The Mouse King isn't even killed onstage.

Sex & Nudity

  • There is no sex or nudity. Marie and the Nutcracker Prince are obviously in love in this version, but they never kiss on the lips. They simply lean toward each other every so often, in a sort of symbolic embrace instead of a literal one. The Prince does kiss both of Marie's hands after they become engaged. The couple is played by adult dancers, as in the other Bolshoi versions.
