The saga of Penn continues to drag on.Yet again he gets someone into trouble and then gets them out of it and this time we don't even know if it was deliberate.The revelation of how Alf got his bruised knuckles is hardly earth-shattering, neither is Penn's "secret".In fact the whole thing's so predictable you could probably write it yourself.And since we're never sure when Penn's telling the truth, it's hard to care about the intimations of abuse.
Colleen manages to irritate everyone in sight with her brief screen time.Romeo and Indigo get a few half good moments.Irene's fair handling of Indi and standing up to a self-righteous Charlie is punch the air fantastic.Paulie's quiet if heavily signposted debut works well and there's some nice tension in his reunion with Angelo.Nicole is nicely characterised again.
