Warning: Spoilers
Seriously, this was even better than I expected!! Nathan and Lucas actually bonding, a fire, a proposal, Henry's redemption!! I laughed, I cried...... It touched my heart. It would take a heart of stone not to be affected by the scene between Henry and Joseph!! It was amazing!

This was one of the best finales yet! It was heartwarming, emotional, funny with great storylines. The acting was superb. Hoping to have Hope Valley around for a long time! Loved the proposal and little Jack is adorable! Waiting to see how things work out for Bill and Henry! Looking forward to a wedding for Elizabeth and a baby for Rosemary! This is one of the few decent family friendly shows left on tv and I hope it is here for a long time!

What kind of storyline?
Sar-8359919 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So spoiled brat Lucas runs away, as is his custom, and Elizabeth sends her other boyfriend, Nathan, to look for him? Are you serious?

The guy whose heart she stomped on? And Nathan even gives her his blessing to marry the guy who runs all the time?

Wow, Nathan really is the better man. I just don't know why there's never a payout for him. What happened to "The good guy wins"? Guess it doesn't work that way in Hope Valley.

And to be honest, Lucas and Elizabeth both looked like fools in this finale. Elizabeth sending Nathan to run and check on Lucas who ran off (even though she claims to not be worried but obviously is). Lucas is easy to find, but doesn't know anything about the outdoors- Nathan has to chop wood for him, tells him how to face the tent, and gives him extra food (because he didn't bring enough). And Nathan even sits to listen to Lucas drabble on about his perfect life. Ridiculous. Lucas looks and sounds like an ungrateful brat devoid of a backbone.

Then Nathan takes the lead in the fire fight, and saves the day, while Lucas rides back in to town at the very last minute, to hold the very end hose for 2 minutes. And he's the one who gets Elizabeth's appreciation? For what? Slinking away and then arriving at the 9th hour? I thought these writers would try to make us like these two characters, Elizabeth and Lucas, so we would accept their "coupling", but they are both horrible. Guess their M. O. was to make them both "deserve" each other. So we would be happy Nathan dodged that bullet?

So here's the sum total of Lucas and Elizabeth's relationship in one line: Void of chemistry, over the top PDA to convince even themselves, but nothing of depth or meaning, with Nathan the Mountie constantly saving them.

Congratulations, the writers have officially killed this show.

If you are looking for a realistic story, where the nice guy gets the girl, this ain't it. Only two spoiled brats getting their way, while they beat down the nice guy.

AWESOME FINALE & SEASON
ldbfrisbee24 May 2022
I can't wait each week to watch WCTH and this episode was extraordinarly awesome. I think the cast, writers and crew are off the charts great. Hallmark has a real winner with this one. More of us want Season 10 because this season has been the best ever.

No the same show anymore

Warning: Spoilers
Don't waste your time. The writing hasn't been the same since Season 8. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it just does. It's sad because the actors are really good.

But please: Pull the plug! This ship has sailed. This show has lost its heart.

Excellent Finale!

The finale for S9 was written so beautifully! So many good stories were told. The actors portrayed every scene impeccably. Tears, joy, romance, redemption, friendship - so full of emotions and beautiful relationships. Such a feel good show with great actors. Don't listen to those who malign the show. Many #Hearties support and whole-heartedly enjoy this show. It's a wonderful show!

Hope Valley at Its Finest

Warning: Spoilers
Redemption, hope, love.... It was all there to see. In the end, it's kindness, sacrifice to right a wrong, friendship, relationships, and love in its many forms that's what's important. The writers hit them all!

It was a heartwarming episode that showed why When Calls the Heart is watched and loved by millions!

And it had a very very romantic and long awaited proposal at the end!!

Beautiful "When Calls The Heart"
yankiecuz24 May 2022
What an absolutely beautiful show with lovely story lines. It's unusual in the times that we live in today, to find a show that celebrates hope, love, redemption, community, and so much more. "When Calls The Heart" showed its phenomenal content with its finale tonight! If you're looking for 9 seasons of inspiration to lift a heavy heart, this is the show for you!! May your tribe increase, Brian Bird.

Should be "Bye Baby Bye!"
sherry5431 May 2022
Fans are up in arms at how badly this show became.

Could it be that this is the last we will ever see of Elizabeth and her man? We can only hope. Seriously if we get rid of these two you'd have a very good show. Fans loved the residents of Hope Valley. I had my favorites.

This train wreck veered off the track after Elizabeth lost her Mountie! Time to move on.

The best season finale!!
lollie-570423 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The finale was fantastic, in fact this season was so great I've already watched it several times! Elizabeth and Lucas are my absolute favorites and the much hoped for proposal was perfect, especially with precious Little Jack involved!! Such happy news that Rosemary and Lee are finally having that long awaited baby and their scenes brought such joy! This episode was filled with so many other special moments including ones with with Henry, Bill, Florence, Nathan, Molly, Faith and so much more!

Congrats to all of the cast, crew, writers, producers and everyone else involved for consistently creating 9 seasons of such a wonderful family friendly series with tons of love, caring, laughs, emotion and heart! This finale was the best and leaves so much to look forward to in season 10!!!

Let's be honest
famyarn19 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A lot of Lucas fans are on here trashing Nathan fans. But how would you honestly feel about the season, if the roles were reversed?

If Nathan had been chosen, and Lucas was only given a measly back up role, that only consisted of propping up the golden couple?

Nathan had next to nothing with Allie (except for that swing scene), and was relegated to a few scenes with other women only to barely hint at anything with either of them.

The Mountie action was severely limited, except for the rifle flip (even if it was darn good), that was only one scene in 12 episodes.

Instead Nathan was saving Lucas' behind, and then fetching him when he ran away from his problems, as he always does. Nathan was even made to apologize to Lucas, when it was E and L that were snots to him. You wonder why we are complaining about the writing? Think about it one hard time. You'll see. It's ridiculous.

If you aren't a Lucabeth fan (and I mean a die-hard one) this season is unsatisfying and even insulting.

So no, I can't give it more than a 1. And if you were honest, you wouldn't give it all tens either. There was plenty to complain about even for Lucas fans: his spineless running away, the way they didn't even give Nathan the chance to clear Lucas' name completely, E's second guessing and then whiny attitude toward Lucas? You all just take that and have nothing to say about, and can't be honest about it, just because you are so scared it will be cancelled? How will the writers ever hear anyone about the bad writing unless even you are honest?

Was this season really that satisfying for you? With so many storylines choppy and so many holes? That the show runner has to hold an hour long interview after each episode to explain everything that no one understood (because of all the holes and inconsistencies in his writing)? What other show has to do that? It's insane!

So don't get on her and chide Nathan fans for being honest, when you yourself can't be. This season was horrible for all fans, no matter the team, and it's time to let them know.

Loved it!

Warning: Spoilers
Beautiful finale. Henry and Bill's stories were concerning, in different ways, but I'm confident the writers will bring them through to the other side. Rosemary and Lee are having a baby! Thank goodness. I love those two. I'm glad Nathan is taking his time and playing the field. He deserves to find a woman who loves him back. Elizabeth wasn't for him and I'm happy he's finally realizing it. The engagement scene was outstanding...even better than expected. I loved it and I adore Lucas and Elizabeth! Looking forward to their wedding. Anxiously awaiting Season 10 to see what's in store for everyone in Hope Valley.

Season 9 episode 12
queenmum-8344926 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Best episode! So much emotion in this episode! Rosemary finally realized she is truly pregnant and Lee's over the moon reaction! Henry finding the weight he has carried is lifted and accepts what may come and asks Joseph to teach him to pray😭. Mike stepping down as Mayor, Bill finally going for treatment, Mei Su returns and it seems Nathan is happy to see her. Faith at a crossroad with Love. Lucas feeling the emotional toll of business, Walden, the mines, and what he wants next, takes time to get into a good headspace. Gustave showing concern for his cousin. We need more of them! The saloon fire and Mikes purchase of a fire pumper helped minimize the damage. Elizabeth secure in her love for Lucas not worrying where he is. Then the proposal! Including Jack to hand Mama the ring 💍. The nervous quiver In Lucas' voice, asking to be a father to Jack, the yes, twirl and Jacks reaction was just perfect! Hallmark needs to renew this show that brings comfort to so many in troubled times!!

Love Certainly is Special
LucaBeth_Writer27 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So much packed into one episode as the season wrapped up for our favorite Hope Valley heroes and so much to love. Loved the 'bromance' developing between opposites, Lucas and Nathan. Loved the Canfields sweet making up. Was so sad when Bill's illness took him away, but glad that he got to see Elizabetn and little Jack before he left. Hopefully he'll be back soon. Was so happy over Rosie & Lee's news and what a scene where she delivered it!!! Bravo Kavan and Pascale. Loved the saloon fire scene and watching everyone pitch in, but my favorite 3 scenes of the evening were Elizabeth's tender words to Lucas post fire, (Erin's delivery was wonderful) Henry finding redemption - first through the forgiveness of Florence and then on his knees in a jail cell - Martin Cummins is a mesmerizing actor - and then the final scene where Lucas finally proposes to Elizabeth. Their love story is the best I've seen on TV and Chris McNally's nuanced performance as Lucas Bouchard is second to none.

When Calls is the best show on the air and this episode earned its 10. Please tune in!

Sick of the forced interactions, especially between Faith and Nathan.
rg799122 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, so this is my least favorite season. It's been in decline since they killed off Jack tbh. Last season had my attention because of the love triangle for Elizabeth. She went the safe route though and it has been so boring to watch. To the point where I honestly don't like Elizabeth as much anymore because shes annoying now. Anyways, they brought in a new love interest for Nathan, seemed promising. I could see some chemistry and that Nathan was willing to put in some work. Then out of nowhere they start pushing Faith and Nathan??? Umm no. Faith has zero chemistry with Nathan, she's boring and not fun. They've tried giving her some story lines but honestly I don't care about Faith. She had her great story line with Carson. Carson left and honestly she should've left with him because she's not interesting except with Carson. Now suddenly she's acting all desperate and wanting Nathan. There is zero signs of him being at all interested in her, other than him being polite. They should've brought in a new doctor for him, they could've brought in the Doctor from When Hope Calls since they seem to be abandoning that show. She has personality and stories and traveled. She'd be perfect for Nathan, or a character like her. So I really felt turned off by Faith professing love for Nathan. I also am sick to death of Molly lining over a man who could care less. She deserves someone by now, she's been desperate for a man for years. Just give her someone already. This season waited til this episode for any kind of action. I love Rosemary and Lee but their characters are a shadow of what they started out as. They were so fun and confident and took over the screen in the first seasons. Lee was such a hard working man who loved his business more than anything, and it made him really sexy and confident. Now he's his wife's lackey even if they're trying to make it seem like he has this really great talent. His really great talent here diminishes his wife's dreams and talents though. I do love the pregnant Rosemary story line though, finally. Although, I feel they should've adopted that sweet little boy from When Hope Calls. Anyways, this episode was really boring much like the entire season. This season is just a mess and all the place. Fiona's role was just ridiculous and problematic. I liked her so much better last season. Hickam ugh they just trying. The writers this episode and season are hopeless and seem to have no idea what to do with the show anymore. Shame because it was really good years ago.

Best finale ever
lil-0112626 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This season's finale was the best one ever. Extremely well written and performed. A redemption story for Henry. Martin Cummins' performance was so good. Finally, a baby for Rosemary and Lee. Pascale and Kavan played it so well. It was both funny and uplifting. Elizabeth and Lucas are engaged and the proposal scene was perfect. Lucas asking first to be a father to little Jack was very touching and beautiful. Erin and Chris were so good. Nathan and Lucas scene in the woods was the beginning of a great friendship. Chris and Kevin are great friends off screen as well and the banter between them was very funny. It's quite sad to read some of the negative comments on this site. A small group of people who purposely down rate the show because they don't like a particular couple. Really sad.

I wanted to like this but ....
debbiech24 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't going to watch season 9. Season 8 went all over the place and became a weakly written soap opera. But I truly thought that now that the terribly written triangle was over, things would improve. Sadly not the case. There were a few good things. The heart of the show, Rosemary and Lee are miraculously suddenly pregnant. While I didn't like how it was done, I'm glad they will get the baby they deserve. Henry has turned to prayer and it was wonderful to see that unfold. That's about it lol

Negatives - weak secondary character Hickham was made mayor when it should have been any of the other candidates - only to resign in the finale. Ridiculous. Lucas proposed - still see no chemistry - but instead of honoring little Jack's father ~ a huge part for five seasons - wants to replace him. Just insulting to Jack's memory. And this was after he ran away - AGAIN ~ and was brought back by his new BFF Nathan which is again ridiculous as they were romantic rivals. And watching Allie ask Elizabeth to help her find Nathan a wife was downright hard to watch and stupid. Bill is probably dying - and Joseph Canfield would rather be a businessman than preacher - which is sorely needed in HV.

Another season all over the place with an unsatisfying finale - season 8 all over again. Lesson learned. If they get a season 10 - I'm out. WCTH is too full of angst and stories that drag out and make no sense. I was sad when Jack died, but they kept the heart of the show until season 8. Wish the show ended after season 7 so I could have ended it with fond memories.

Rock, A Bye, Baby was spectacular!!
lsuachang3 June 2022
This episode has to be one of my favourite finales, it was mind blowing and magnificent!! Can't ask for anything better than to wrap up the season with three suspenseful events being wrapped up in such a satisfying and rewarding way! Yet it left the door open to so many more storylines for future seasons. Just loved it and words don't do it justice you just have to watch it!!

Better than earlier seasons
SunnyDaise26 September 2022
I really like that Elizabeth has had her ups and downs so has a wider perspective than the earlier seasons. Sad as it was, becoming a widow was the making of Elizabeth and she's now equal to all those wives who lost their husbands right at the start. I'm so glad she didn't marry another mountie as it is unrealistic that they would stay in the same place so long - in the books, they are constantly on the move. I like the way WCTH shows the pros and cons of new technology. I know it isn't a perfect representation of the time, but overall it fits the bill as a TV show all ages can watch together.

The Proposal
WCTHfanalways20 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The highlight of this episode definitely was the proposal! How sweet that Lucas included. LJ in his proposal. The rock trick was great. Chris was awesome in his proposal scene The emotion was tender and respectful and perfectly reflected Elizabeth and Lucas' relationship. Little Jack was so happy when Lucas asked to be a Father to him. No, Lucas wasn't asking to replace Jack, ( Jack died before LJ was born, he never even knew Elizabeth was pregnant so never had an opportunity to be a father to LJ in a personal relationship sense ) , but was asking to be allowed to love and mentor LJ as a Father would. I guess the complainers would have preferred Lucas asked her to be his wife but said "I don't want anything to do with yout son" Truth is they would have complained and critisized no matter what because of their bias. Why can't they grasp the beauty of Lucas, who received so little attention from his own father/parents wanting to be a loving, involved Fatherto LJ? Hope they build that tree house!

For the record, Nathan did not rescue Lucas. Lucas was camping and enjoying a time of solace to reflect on life. He was not lost, nor starving. He was fine. Elizabeth was not worried. She trusted him and knew him so well that she did not open his letter. Nathan did go looking for him because Elizabeth promised Gustave, who was worried, that she would ask Nathan to do so.

When Nathan found Lucas he actually took the opportunity to apologize to Lucas for not trusting him. They actually wound up coming to a better understanding of one another Nathan left and Lucas came back that night.

There was so much good in this episode.... Henry praying with Joseph, RM pregnant, and so much more All the characters had a great season, Nathan included. He has two wonen carrying torches for him!! But in reality Elizabeth is the main character and whichever man she chose was going to be the lead man

A wonderful wholesome show. Looking forward to season 10 and now we even have our show renewed for S11!

Unrecognizable Mess
lovelacecambodia24 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I want back my happy place of Hope Valley from S1-7. The new show-writer jumbles up scenes, forgets history from previous seasons, and has given personality transplants to every single character. He has to do weekly interviews on Hearties propaganda podcasts to explain important details that are left out or happen off camera.

The transformation of WCTH during S8-9 is the absolute biggest disappointment of any tv program I've ever watched.
