Calm down, Noah is about 12
cd13363 March 2022
So many people rating this episode poorly because they were offended somehow by a TWELVE year old boy coming out as bisexual. I don't know about any of you, but I certainly knew what gender I was attracted to by 12. Even if he was eight or ten like some of these outraged people are claiming, he would probably already know. I had crushes on people at that age and I had boyfriends then as well. If you are going to rate the show poorly for anything, it should be that they don't seem to do anything on this show anymore that is not high profile in some way. Don't give the show poor reviews because you can't wrap your mind around the fact that a 12 year old kid knows he is bisexual and is comfortable with it.

Entertaining episode, undermined by a pointless ending
EvergreenDragon15 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
When the uncle at the end says "I've already been dead since I was 9 years old.", I would have faded to black right there. It would have been a powerful ending to the episode. Instead, we are treated to a pointless scene between Benson and her son that most people, no matter what their views are on gender identity, would find painful to watch.

Benson Has Personal and Professional Problems
shelbythuylinh14 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As with an online gamer that leaves to a boy missing and kidnapped there. That the pedophile could be doing this to other kids there.

Meanwhile Benson finds out that Noah is being bullied after finding him in a cage with a crazed child as his sister looks on with bemusement.

But now Noah says that it was not himself in trouble but another child that Noah did not want to be hurt. He is wiser beyond his years.

Felt like a refreshed, old episode
eighmii23 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A. Definitely thought Noah was going to be fully gay by the way his character has been developing over the years but he's still young - it's totally understandable that that's where he is at this point in his life. I thought I was bi for 7-8 years before I knew I was gay - not saying Noah is, but this is when he'd start realizing that he's, at least, not totally straight. Also, why do other reviewers think it's so offensive that he knows this for himself at this age? I definitely had little school girl crushes when I was young; who didn't?

I really don't understand why this ruffled so many SVU VIEWERS' feathers? Did they not realize that Noah wasn't straight before this episode? And why be so homophobic if you're a fan of THIS show in particular? A show that's supported the LGBT+ community since Season 1 - over 20 years ago? Super confused.

B. This was a fun episode because it felt like an old episode. Like, it felt like an old storyline - if I tried hard enough I could probably compare it to at least 4-5 other episodes from the past but this was fresh, modern, and had a lot of plot twists. Felt very nostalgic - especially now that Stabler is back in the picture (though not in this episode).

I was shocked by all the negative reviews. What show do people think they're watching?

I can't believe so many people giving this a bad review.

In this age of sex trafficking, where pedo slime are rampant in this country, this episode needs to be seen far and wide.

This guy was a complete garbage person, and this country better start to recognize this. The push to "normalize" underaged people having sex with adults needs to be fought back against, and this episode goes a long way toward highlighting the disgusting nature of this ideology. It's coming, people. We NEED to fight against it.

Burning with Rage Forever

The case itself was pretty interesting. Not the most original kidnapping, but an action-packed chase and then the overload of twists with the family actually worked.

Cycles of Abuse: I already died at 9 years old
yazguloner28 January 2022
A tough story on pedophilia, child pornography. Deception, kidnapping and abuse of the child is given a little more bare with its tough side.

With this aspect, it starts like a story similar to the first svu seasons. However, later on, we hit the new svu drama and dark grays.

A great drama unfolds from this difficult case. Untold dramas turn into storm and tragedy.

Good to see Elvis Baktashi (Michael Dempsey) again. I admire Svu's inclusion of civil society representatives in the story. I miss Father Curtis (Lesli Odom jr) and Bayard Ellis (Andre Braugher) on this one.

So many snowflakes
behemoth-0359016 January 2022
I have never read so many reviews by snowflakes clutching their pearls about an episode before LOL. Don't listen to the 1 star reviews for this episode. They're all from people who were so aghast at the ending. 10 stars to balance out the petty 1 star reviews. Awesome show keep it up producers!

There maybe more than one truth
guppie233521 April 2022
First and foremost, a powerful and engaging episode that portrayed the many truths that those who abused at a young age live with the hardship long after. A strong performance with raw emotion from the cast all around. But let's talk about the elephant in the room. We have two sets of groups. Those who are so sensitive to the idea of an intellectual grade school child who could understand and convey his "truths". Those who vehemently defend the opposite. Well the truth is these sets of people live in a different worlds and are exposed to two completely different ideologies. They are surrounded and get information from people with the same ideologies as themselves. This are largest issue as humans in 2022, we have the choice to live in the bubble we create and we so hateful to those outside our bubble that we will never embrace or even research the ideas of their "truth's"

This was probably my last show..... SPOILERS!!!
popple101215 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Don't listen to the petty 10 star review because he admits to giving that rating just to counteract the low reviews by people who genuinely had a lot of problems with this episode.

I still watch L&O SVU because I've invested 23 years in keeping up with the characters, and the stories are good as well as topical.

I try to overlook the obvious forcing of the PC agenda by just rolling my eyes and moving past it.

Having 10 year old Noah casually come out to his mother as "Bi" in the last 2 minutes of the show seems tacked on as an afterthought for shock value, and both of them brushed off how he was kept and filmed in a cage wearing a dog collar by a bully as if it was a normal, daily occurrence.

Ridiculous. Not sure I'll even bother watching anymore. I have several streaming services with a vast amount of shows to sink my teeth into. I think Law & Order SVU is past it's Sell By date.

YESSSS!!!
chiopio-3262014 January 2022
Complex episode that covers a variety of topics from online safety to transgender acceptance among peers. The characters felt real, and you couldn't help but cry for even those that made mistakes. An important character comes out as bisexual, and you would never believe who it is. Very LGBTQ friendly episode. Loved it.

Well done and sensitive episode
hachmom-1644027 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This episode deals with effects of molestation and bullying. The issues of multiple generations being molested was very well handled. Art of the problem is that no one steps in to break the cycle of bullying in part because no one tells anybody what is going on. Paralleling this situation is a problem with us having with Noah being bullied by another child. Noah says the boy is just a boy who's even being bullied by others because nobody likes them. Noah also explains that he himself stepped in to stop himself and another boy from being bullied. In the course of explaining that everybody should be allowed to be who they want to be Noah tells his mother that he is bisexual. For some reason this is horrified a number of viewers they do not think that a 12 year olds can have any sense of their own sexuality, let alone, knowing what the sexuality might be. I wonder how many of them actually have known a 12 year old. I've known several who came out around the same age. Many of them come out as bi because they just aren't sure what their feelings are as they just know they are not traditional. What they seem to overlook is how sensitively well written this episode is. Contrary to the comments of others, I do not feel it the scene comes out of the blue, or is unrelated to the rest of the story. Liv , handles the situation as well, as one hopes, a parent will do, acknowledging his truth praising him for sticking up for himself and others, and thanking him for the confidence. Moreover, and this relates directly to the main story, Noah is helping to break a cycle of bullying by standing up for himself and his friend. Not breaking the cycle of abuse is what causes the host situation in the main plot. He is finding the way out, for himself and his friend. I ve watched this episode several times and find it moving.

23 years and ive had enough
anahitlove3315 January 2022
Such a shame the direction this show has taken. All its worried about is being PC. Doesn't show the brutality, the victims pain, or even the peace they get from a conviction. All they show now is the trials and the rest of the story has to be read between the lines. Instead of focusing on appealing to the younger audience by making a 10 year old kid "come out", focus on what the series is supposed to be about. Im Bi, yeah NO, more like GOOD-BI.

It's A No From Me!
futureselfmovie16 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was disturbing, boring and a waste of my time. There were some interesting plot twists but they were very brief. I don't think that the idea of Noah coming out was necessary and I think that they should have just finished after Carlos pled guilty. I think that they should do more crossovers with Organized Crime and more teaming up with Hate Crimes. Loved the episode before but didn't like this one.

1000% Done with this show
viiioctavarium17 January 2022
Tired of the brainwashing.

Took a good storyline and ruined it by having to force more woke BS by having a 9 year old say he's BI. For a show running out of writing they sure know how to screw up a decently written episode with wokeness.

ENOUGH!

Wow what a joke
terroc-1949025 January 2022
What has SUV turned into..... a 10 year old kid coming out as bi is the last minutes of the show. Time to pull the plug on this law and order. Way too much political nonsense on every episode anymore.

Amazing episode ruined at the end
steven_kearns22 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Listen this was a great episode exploring some complex issues and asking serious morality questions in regards to right or wrong BUT..... I have no idea why they keep trying to drip feed current hot topics into the show.

My son turned 12 in September and I don't care how progressive you claim to be or how advanced your special child is they should not and are not capable of understanding something as complex as sexuality at that age.

We are literally talking a few years between them believing in Santa and coming out as bi? The kid playing Noah has the acting range of a 2 X 4 and watch him suddenly spout lines like "it's my truth"... a 12 year old without coaching coming out with something like "it's my truth" really? Is that what the makers of this show really believe is the standard vernacular for a child of that age?

More and more in the recent episodes and series they have been forcing this stuff in with an insincere tone which reeks of condescension.

I'm a liberal myself but this sexualisation of children needs to stop.

What a joke
graceevatrends18 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I have been an avid follower of law and order suv from the very beginning. The storyline was good, the plots and twist. However having the kid come out and casually say he is Bi was overstretched. Let the kid be a kid. Too young to be involving himself in thoughts like that.

The last 3 minutes was totally unnecessary. Should have ended with I died at 9. What were they trying to do? Educate people especially kids on their sexuality or prove a point that the are intuned with modern BS.

I hardly comment but please can they just do what they should be doing, crime, investigation, trial and justice.

The show is losing itself
erikadelamare9 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I can say Law & order SVU is a great show. The episodes make you want to watch it non-stop. But I have to say that now, on season 23, it is not what it used to be. The biggest mistake was Elliot left, but the show kept its focus and continued being good for a while. I was happy for Olivia being promoted, but I liked her better when she was just a detective and sergeant.

On this episode I realized it is not the same anymore!!

A 9-year-old child declaring himself as Bi? Seriously???

Please! We don't care about it! There are other shows with this content! Don't change what is already a success!
